Chapter 73: The wrath of the Dark king

For what seemed like hours, they battled. But Lily eventually spotted a way out, a small opening at the bottom of the cave that led to an underground river. They made it out of the chamber and onto a small boat, where they drifted along the stream until they spotted the next artifact. They passed through forests and lakes, finally making their way to Heaven's Guerrillas base.

Lily and Arthur were tired, their bodies aching and minds clouded from exhaustion. They made it to the base and embraced each other, their relief palpable.

Lizana was glad to see them but knew that their mission wasn't over yet. The artifacts had to be kept safe, and the dark king knew that they had them. She called a meeting with her trusted generals to discuss their next move. They decided to divide the artifacts among themselves, so one person didn't have all the pieces. They would hide them in plain sight and rotate them around, keeping the dark king guessing.

.......

Halfway across the kingdom, the dark king was furious. He had sent his most trusted guards to find the relics, but they had failed in their mission. When they returned empty-handed, he unleashed his wrath upon them, yelling and smashing his scepter against the ground.

"How could you fail me?" he screamed. "I gave you one simple task, and you couldn't even do that! You are all worthless."

The guards stood at attention, their heads down in fear of the king's wrath. The king continued to berate them, his face red with fury.

"Find those artifacts and bring them to me. I will not be denied what is rightfully mine."

As he was shouting, a messenger appeared with a scroll in his hand. The king paused his tirade and snatched it from the messenger's hand. He read it and then crumbled it up, tossing it aside.

"Those fools," he muttered under his breath. "They've taken the artifacts back to Heaven's Guerrillas base. I'll make sure they pay for their insolence."

He summoned his army and sent them to attack the base, to take the enigmatic artifacts at any cost.
