Chapter 5: Skills & Dungeons!

Here's an extra big one!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 5:

It was the weekends, the first week of Hogwarts had gone by in a flash.

Right now I found myself walking along the 7th floor corridor, trying to find where the Room of Requirements is. Finding and monopolizing the room will grant me a whole new array of options, I could sell off some of the books after learning them myself of course at Borgin and Burkes, I could get all the treasure, yes… all the treasure, ahem.

I saw the tapestry of Barnabus the Barmy and saw the wall opposite of it clear of any doors or portraits.

'I need to find the Room of Requirements' I thought as I walked by the wall opposite of the tapestry three times.

After the third time I walked past the wall an intricate arched door appeared on the wall.

[Room of Requirements] have been found, would you like to enter?

[Y/N]

I pressed Y and the door opened allowing me to walk in. I walked seeing as there wasn't anyone else here.

You have found special area [Room of Requirements]

Pick a reward:

10,000 EXP

Random Box

Random Skill Book

This is interesting, for now I should pick skill book. Since I would grind soon for levels, I didn't need the EXP, the random box was also kind of redundant seeing as I get one every day. I picked Skill Book, and the item; [Random Skill Book] appeared directly into my inventory.

'Close the door and don't allow anyone else to come in' I thought to the room. The room melded to my will.

Inside the Room of Requirements there were mountains of object as far as I could see.

'Hmm… what should I summon first? Weapons would be a good start' I thought, and the room bended to my will.

The mountains of objects disappeared and what took their place was rows and rows of weapons, spears, swords, rapiers, bows, and a whole array of weapons lined the racks that walls. I walked over to one side of the walls that catered longs swords and took one with some difficulty. I observed it:

Rusted Longsword – Rank: Poor

A rusted longsword that has been acquired through the Room of Requirements. It is very old and rusted.

DMG: 45 SL Damage

I clicked on the SL Damage and apparently it means slashing damage.

Grabbing another one from the racks I put it in my inventory and walked along the other racks observing all the weapons. The only other thing I found were a pair of rusted daggers and a long spear. Another good thing that came from this was a series of pings! I heard while observing since it means-

[Observe]'s level has risen by one

[Observe]'s level has risen by one

[Observe]'s level has risen by one

[Observe] level was now 5.

Lvl 5 (72%)

-You can now observe target's current HP, MP and slight more detailed Description/Background.

After casting the mending charm, all of the weapons soon had turned back into ordinary weapons. I put them back into my inventory, or at least tried to. It didn't let me seeing as my inventory was full, actually couldn't I increase my inventory space with galleons? Sadly I didn't have any but, shouldn't the room? It might've collected a lot of coins. The thought of treasure brought out a fox-like grin on my face.

'Bring me all the treasure!' I thought out with a grin on my face but nothing happened, hmm… maybe something else."

As soon as I did the room changed, or at least the things inside did.

The racks on the walls were quickly pushed back into the wall, and piles of gold, silver and bronze were overflowing from the walls. The light in my eyes and grin on my face intensified as my desire for treasure sky-rocketed, a single galleon was rolling towards me and hit my foot before falling on the ground.

Finally I couldn't hold myself back anymore, I greedily shovelled all the treasure; piles of gold, silver and bronze, and other treasures, into my inventory. The wonderful sound of coins jingling greeted my ears until only a single Knut remained and I no longer had the intense desire to make everything mine.

I looked at my current balance;

3,448G/13S/28K

I placed the last Knut inside and I saw the numbers change;

3,448G/14S/0K

'That's interesting, it automatically converts into the larger currency' I thought.

As I took in a breath to calm myself down, I thought back to what I did. 'Is it me or the greed perk a lot stronger than I thought it would be?' I mused to myself, to be honest what happened what quite scary and fulfilling at the same time. Like doing a brave act for the first time and being rewarded for it.

Adding some more storage for my inventory I focused my attention to my original task.

As I pulled out two of the long swords, I thought about some gamer stories I had read in some of my free time in my old world. I felt for the mana inside of myself, it was like finding a part of your mind you'd never been able to see or know was there. Pulling the mana out and coating my swords with it I thrust forward. My action was soon followed by a ping!

Skill made!

[Piercing Strike] (Active)

Lvl 1 (0%)

+20% Piercing damage,

Nice skill, let's see what else I could do.

This time I repeated the same actions but instead of piercing I slashed. Another skill!

[Slashing Strike] (Active)

Lvl 1 (0%)

A strike that causes lot of slashing damage.

+20% Slashing Damage,

+10% damage.

20 seconds delay before being able to use it again.

Cost: 30 MP/ use

This is pretty good for now I have two different techniques I could use for close range, but now I also have to focus on my weaknesses as well.

'I can't really always rely on my wand, maybe one day it will be destroyed' I thought sadly. It was like my partner and I had grown attached to it, even polishing it every night before sleep with a polishing set from a reward box.

Snapping out of my sad state I thought about how useful having wand-less magic would be. It couldn't be tracked down and maybe I can even hone it to the point of it being better then when using a wand.

Sheathing my swords tips into the ground I focused on my hands. I should try doing the same as before, I manipulated my mana onto my hands and started imagining about what I wanted it to be.

Soon sparks were coming off of my fingers, arcs of it looking as if they were running from finger to finger. I was so entranced I didn't notice the following pings!

A few minutes later I was huffing on the floor with my back against it, 'it seems like I couldn't use my skill for too long' I thought as I pulled up my notifications.

Ping!

[Mana Manipulation] (Active)

Lvl 2 (46%)

Manipulating your own mana comes as second nature to you.

+7% increase to mana techniques.

I was surprised about the other skill that I got. I didn't know I could get a mana manipulation skill,

'Since I already have an Electricity manipulation skill, what about other elements?' I thought. It would make sense, if I could make one element what about another?

This time instead of thinking of the mana turning into electricity I thought of it burning, hot and destructive. And low and behold a small flame only about as big as a candle burned just on my palm.

I heard a Ping! For every element I made which included Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth and Wind, and some other Pings! As well, I guess that I levelled up some of the skills. Bringing up my Notification box I saw something surprising;

Due to constantly using your Mana your Mana capacity has grown, +2 INT

Due to constantly using your Mana your Mana regeneration has grown, +1 INT

'I guess they can also grow like that a well', that thought made me remember something that slipped by my notice. When I read the book on the Hogwarts Express I gained a point in INT, but when I absorbed the skill books I didn't get any. Did this mean if I absorbed the skill books I wouldn't get any stat points but if I manually read them then I would?

This was an important piece of information, that had I not known it wouldn't have affected me much now but later down the line a lot more.

Pulling out my longswords from the ground I started practising with them, they were still a bit heavy in my hands but at least usable now. I first went into a duel sword stance, with one of the swords in a reverse grip which was brought back and one crossed in front of me. I sprang forward and cut the air a few times.

As I was practising I heard a ping! I turned my head to the left where I still had my notification box open, inside I saw I had a new skill;

Skill learnt!

[Sword Mastery] (Passive)

Lvl 1 (78%)

The way of the sword has always called to you.

+5% attack damage with swords,

+5% attack speed with swords.

This time my swords flowed a lot better and faster than before, putting my swords into my inventory. I took out the twin daggers that I had put in there and took another stance with the both daggers in reverse grip and my legs bent.

I pushed forward with my legs and shot off the ground I was standing on forward, cutting the air in front of multiple times as I dodged and evaded the phantom of a sibling disciple that I used to face at my kendo classes.

As I slid under his legs and cur upwards I got another ping! Deciding I should stop now that I had beaten the phantom I looked at the notification box.

[Dagger Mastery] (Passive)

Lvl 1 (98%)

The close-combat daggers quick style attracts you.

+5% attack damage with daggers,

+5% attack speed with daggers.

Hmm… does this mean I could have a mastery for every type of weapon?

This time I pulled out a spear and got into a crouch stance with the point pointed forward and to the ground. I thrust forward with the spear and slashed with it when the tip reached its farthest, this time I stopped as I heard the unsurprising ping!

Skill learnt!

[Polearm Mastery] (Passive)

Lvl 1 (13%)

The noble art of the polearm charms you to its way of combat.

+5% attack damage with polearms,

+5% attack speed with polearms.

Putting away the spear I took out the longswords from my inventory box.

Now that I've gotten some skills I should probably fight some actual fighters, after some rest I made the room make some wooden dolls that could fight me. They looked somewhat humanoid and couldn't move like most humans. After fighting one and ending it with a simple slash to the neck which lopped of its head,

'These are weak give me a stronger one!' I thought to the room with a grin. Huh, I've finally gone into my habit of going into a battle maniac mode during battles. But, I didn't keep it at bay like I did usually with my greed, I let it all out.

The room changed, it was now a field that covered a large area. The field was made of rock and the terrain was hard and treacherous.

This time the three were more dolls they were made of a stronger material and looked like faceless, genderless humans each with a sharp iron weapons.

I jumped into the fray of dolls and lopped of one of their necks, the rest turned their face to me and started attacking. I flipped backwards of the dolls headless body, away from where I was narrowly dodging a spear thrust from one of the other dolls.

I was in a hand stand and kicked the two dolls standing next to me trying to attack me. It didn't do enough damage so I threw myself up and gripped one of my longswords in a reverse grip like a dagger and stabbed it through the dolls' neck, I adjusted my grip and cut through the rest of its neck as well.

Another three dolls came from behind while I was on air and attacked me, the one with the sword slashed downwards at me, I barely dodged only getting away with a cut to the cheek that would heal. I hit the ground and got into my duel stance and started swinging right in between the three cutting up the sword wielding one but the other two got away with their weapons; a spear and mace, cut in half.

They took the sharp remains of their weapons and used them instead, tsk, slowly I was dodging and blocking, I was losing. I dodged under the sideways swing of the mace doll and went under it while crossing my swords, I jumped on its shoulders and it was thrown back by its force. I slashed my swords with a slashing strike that destroyed its neck and jumped off over the spear doll and twisted my body mid-air to cut off its head.

As I sat down to regain my breath I remember some notification also coming up informing me of dangers somewhere through the middle of the fight, I checked my notifications and found out I had gotten another skill:

[Danger Sense] (Passive)

Lvl 3 (11%)

A skill that allows you to sense danger and warns you of it.

Allowing me to dodge in time. Of course some small cuts still littered my body, just because I knew the attack was coming didn't mean that could dodge them all.

Seeing my clothes all messed up and hanging by the thread, made me decide to put away the clothes for now and ask the room for clothes. I also faintly remember that stuff conjured by the room wouldn't be able to be taken out, so I can't ask for it conjure everything I need and take it out. But I'll be able to use them for now so that's fine.

'Now for something stronger!' and the room complied.

Scene break------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lone male figure stood in a field of broken parts; arms, legs, torsos and body parts of different types were strewn about the field. The figure was wielding two longswords that he struck into the ground.

"Room, clear the field." He spoke out to apparently no one, but what was once a rocky field soon turned into a large room.

"Make me a bed" said the figure falling forward and hitting a bed that suddenly appeared, as soon as the pillow hit his head he fell asleep.

Scene break

Waking up Allen remembered what he had done earlier, it filled him with a sense of fulfilment and excitement.

Getting up and stretching he ordered the room to bring a clock.

"It's only been a few hours since I've entered" he said to himself checking the clock, on it read 12 PM.

Scene break------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I think it's time to finally go to that dungeon" he said now wearing brand new clothes he brought out from his inventory, and looking fully refreshed. Bringing out a set of light armour he cast the mending charm on, he put them in his inventory.

The light armour consisted of a chest plate, shoulder pads, greaves, forearm guards and a few other pieces of armour that protected only the vital spots allowing me maximum flexibility and movement.

"I should be ready now" he said walking out of the room.

The door closed by itself once the boy walked out. He watched it meld back into the wall as he took a few steps back looking at the now blank wall.

Without looking back Allen left the wall and headed towards the stairs, looking at one of the currently still moving stairs he gulped. "Come on, it's just stairs" he whispered to himself and tried to step on the stairs only for the stairs to move at the last second, nearly causing him to fall down.

Quickly walking down the stairs Allen swore to himself that he'll never be able look at stairs the same ever again. Now thoroughly traumatised by the stairs, he started walking down whatever corridor he is currently in.

Allen took out something from his inventory, an intricate silver compass.

"Since I'm walking, might as well level up Observe" he said and begin walking in the direction the needle pointed at.

Scene break------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Observing the compass in my hand as I walked;

[Compass of Hogwarts floors]- Rank: Rare

Allows you to find whatever floor your on and hot to get off the floor to the floor of your choosing.

I had gotten this from one of my reward boxes in the past week, checking my status I was kind of surprised, I knew I had already gotten my stat points to around the same much as I had in my past life as an adult.

My Greedy Hands skill has levelled up quite a bit, but you can't blame me for misplacing some of the things from the student body and watching them panic.

One time, I stole someone's book because they were disrupting me and when he turned his head to write in it he couldn't find it, I kept on putting it back and taking it and the look on his face as he kept finding and losing it was amazing! I chuckled at the memory a bit.

Humming a bit I started singing a song that I remember from my past life;

(Darkside by Grandson)

The kid has got a dark side

Best believe it, push too far you'll see

The kid has got a dark side

Back against the wall

I walked around the corner and bumped into something, making me fall on top of it- no her, I was on Daphne Greengrass with my hands on either sides of her face and her hands on my shoulders.

Well… this is awkward. Also why is it always her?

Getting up and dusting myself off, I gave her my hand. She took it with a red face, this is embarrassing.

"Ahem- what are you doing here?" I asked,

"Just decided to take a walk, what about you?" she evaded the question. Is she embarrassed?

"Well I ended up going on the wrong floor" I lied, how can I? That would be way too embarrassing.

Wait since I've levelled up my 'observe' maybe I should observe her again.

Due to being inflicted with 'Demon; Death Templar's invasion's curse' since birth she and her family haven't expect her to live much longer, a few years more at most. She is currently lost'

Reading the whole paragraph of information my eyes softened, this poor girl has lived such a horrible life. Shaking my head I thought back to her infliction, a lot of things are making sense. Didn't Draco end up marrying Astoria? Daphne's little sister? Why would he do that unless… she wasn't the heiress nor was she alive. Hence, Astoria took her spot as the heiress and married Draco.

Gasping slightly at the information I had gotten, I thought how this would affect me. Daphne was still just a child and she reminded me too much of her, I couldn't let her die. But how would I be able to save her?

Putting away my thoughts for now I tuned back into my senses and started chatting to her, even though she will eventually turn into an ice queen right now she's just a kid.

I placed my hand out and ruffled her hair a bit, I couldn't help it. She reminded me of her and even their reactions were similar as I watched with a bit of amusement, melancholy how she blushed red, look the other way and shout out to 'stop it!' while throwing away my arms from her head.

After chatting a bit more I found out that we had nearly reached the end according to the compass, this thing is amazing, seriously. How much would I be able to sell these for if I mass produce them?

Scene break------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Standing in front of wall deep down under Hogwarts in its dungeons, I looked at the pop up in front of me.

[Would you like to enter [Undead Dungeon]?]

[Y/N]

I pressed Y and a passage way revealed itself, I had already made sure no one was around, so I went right in, the passage opening closing right behind me.

Equipping the light armour and twin longswords directly from the inventory I continue on, that is such a convenient use of the inventory.

Walking through the passage, soon the passage began to slope and the stone floor turned into stairs. Finally reaching the bottom I heard the rattling of bones, looking In front of me I saw a skeleton with glowing red eyes wielding a sword walking around. 'Observe'

Skeleton Lvl 8

HP: 800 MP: 100

Kill to gain: 150 EXP

An undead skeleton that has been resurrected by a necromancer. They are more powerful then when they were alive, they are faster and stronger than normal humans.

Before I rushed in I started thinking about what I had learned from 'observe'.

'it seems that the boss is most likely the necromancer' I thought, as long as I get in and out fast enough I wouldn't be in any trouble, right?

As soon as the skeleton turned his back I activated [Sprint] and ran up behind him, swinging my left long sword at him in a wide arc I activated [Slashing Strike]. Quickly doing the simple math;

150 + 40% = 210 DMG

210 + 55% = 325.5 DMG

325.5 + 45% = 471.975 DMG!

Tsk, I intoned and struck again this time with my right long sword by bringing it back and activating [Piercing Strike]. The longsword pierced right through the skull of the skeleton killing it instantly, the red light in its eye sockets fading away into nothing.

Looking at my skills I was glad that I had constantly used my skills in the room of requirements, looking at each skill used I saw their numbers, [Sprint] is 12, [Slashing Strike] is 7 and [Piercing Strike] is 7 as well.

Looking down, I saw that the skeleton had left behind a few Knuts, a Sickle, a rib bone and a purple gem. Observing them all I saw that the Knuts and Sickles were real so I deposited them in my Inventory, the rib was actually a;

Undead Skeleton's Rib – Rank: Ordinary

The rib of a human skeleton that has been resurrected into a skeleton to do its masters bidding, this is a crafting item. Can be used in potions and Alchemy.

[Y/N]

Pressing N and putting it into my inventory, I looked at the purple gem that had also dropped. 'Observe'-

Soul Stone – Rank: Basic

A stone of crystalized soul energy, dropped by most undead. Can be used for a plethora of things.

Huh, this can be very useful. My ears twitched a bit as I heard the cackling of bones and moans of the undead, heh this might be actually be somewhat fun.

Author's Notes:

So how did you guys like that? Please leave a comment or review!

I will be adding things from mythology and other franchises in here. He will be OP I repeat OP but he will have a hard time with some of the enemies he face and others he will decimate.

His personality is a bit wack if you had noticed but it's also because of his past life, he was a pretty chill and good guy but when she died he became a lot more cynical and anti-hero. He is not totally evil but can and will do a lot of things to get what he wants.

Also who liked the song? I was listening to it the whole time I was writing this and thought it kind of sounded like him.

For those that want to know his MP and HP here it is:

HP = Lvl x 100 + VIT*10

HP Regen = Lvl x 10 + VIT ÷ 2

MP= Lvl x 100 + INT*10

MP Regen= Lvl x 10 + WIS ÷ 2

In the earlier chapters I had messed it pretty bad, but this is the formula for his HP and MP. But this is the official one until I change it if I ever do.

Here is his status:
