Chap 7 – Sabotaging the event vote

Every semester the school held a summer event to socialize with other schools.

For the festival, each room had to choose its theme, and mine was always the maid's coffee.

The problem isn't that it's a maid cafe, but that I have to wear that ridiculous waiter outfit and not be able to see the other maids because I'm in the kitchen.

Damn, I wish I could serve at least once, but I'm always forbidden.

During the vote on the choice of theme, I will try my best to get them to choose something else.

"Maid Cafe! Maid Cafe!"

I hear my classmates shouting as they walk into the classroom...and then their voices suddenly get cut off when they enter the hallways of our school building.

They stopped the yelling as soon as Professor Seda appeared.

She is the only one capable of imposing discipline on the students in my classroom. If she wasn't there, this place would be a battlefield where everyone just shouts out whatever nonsense comes to mind.

"The festival is exciting, but let's save the comments for after school," Seda said while looking around at all her class members.

After hearing those words, almost no one spoke up anymore. The noise from outside disappeared completely. Even if someone tried talking again, nobody would listen to him or her. It felt like time froze inside the classroom.

Seda continued: "As you may already know, we're holding an event called 'A Festival for All Classes' today."

Everyone started whispering among themselves about what kind of event it might be.

I was aiming for this year to be something different, like tetaro or karaoke.

"...Well, now that everyone seems calm enough, let us begin explaining how things work here..."

Voting will continue as usual, I don't know why this explanation.

She will present some options and we will vote.

"First, since we've decided to hold an event together, the options are: Maid's Cafe, theater or presentation of another work."

It's not really fair to say that the options were chosen by everyone; more than half of the class didn't even show any interest whatsoever.

Most people follow the popular choice, and that leaves me with few options to prevent them from choosing the "Maid's Cafe."

"Now then, let's start with Maid Café first. We can do this in two ways — either you come dressed as your character or you'll be wearing a uniform provided by the school."

If you go dressed as a maid, you won't need a uniform.

It brings together everything the students like, girls in uniform and we don't need a uniform, dammit.

"And we have the other options you guys know well." Her voice sounded very monotonous, making people lose focus easily.

Is it just me or she didn't explain anything on purpose.

"Let's vote!"

"Wait, before the voting starts I have something to say..."

"Who chooses the 'Maids Cafe'," Seda interrupted me. She looked at me with eyes full of suspicion.

What did I do wrong?

"Maid Cafeeeee!!"

My classmates shouted in unison, causing me to flinch.

Even Elizabth, my friend voted for this.

Why are they doing this?! They should stop right away!!

"That's not allowed!" I tried to scream again.

But it doesn't seem like anyone heard me. Everyone was too busy chanting the name of the café.

"That's it folks, voting over, you can go home," Seda said.

I couldn't believe my ears when they voted unanimously in favor of this idea. Damnit, damnit, damnit...

This is the worst day ever. This is the absolute WORST DAY EVER!!!

I feel so depressed right now.

I'm going to participate in this event only to be able to enjoy the best part.

Everyone having fun and I stuck in the kitchen.

The moment I thought about that, my heart began pounding hard in my chest.

How am I supposed to endure this torture for three hours?

"Don't worry Adriel, I'll send you pictures dressed as a maid," Elizabeth mock me.

She was barely holding in a laugh as she said that.

"Damn Liz, why another year of this hell?"

Elizabeth smiled back at me.

"You look cute in the uniform."

"Shut up! You're gonna ruin my mood!"

We both burst into laughter.
