Just a normal fight? (Part 1)
Dan took a deep breath in and let it out. He needed to get some of the poison out at least if he wanted to fight properly.
"Let's get him before he recovers from the poison." Nero said. He removed the cutlass from his waist and charged at Dan. He swung his sword at Dan.
Miss!
He swung it again!
Miss!
Nero's cutlass smashed into the ground creating very tiny cracks on the floor. Dan was barely dodging the attacks. Had he miscalculated the distance even a little then it could have lead to his death. Dan threw a punch only for Nero to smile.
He used his cutlass to redirect Dan's punch towards himself. Dan felt the full force of his punch. Nero did not stop there. He slashed at Dan's chest cutting through the leather armour and leaving a wound on Dan's chest.
"Too shallow!" he said.
He then thrust his sword to the left of his chest only for it to be deflected by Dan's punch. Dan tried to kick Nero in the calf only for his leg to be stopped. A strong force prevented him from kicking Nero.
He spared a quick glance only to see a hand made out of sand latched onto his legs. Nero took advantage of this single moment Dan had taken his eyes of him and once again slashed him in the same exact spot.
He did this to further the damage done since the wound was to shallow. Dan used his strength to move his leg and break of the hand that was made out of sand.He managed to let it let it go of him only for it to reconnect.
The sand went up his thigh further restricting his movements. Dan turned back only to see Nero spinning in the air with his cutlass. He was spinning violently in the air towards Dan like a hurricane.
Dan cast a spell. It was a low level mind spell that would invert the person's controls. Despite casting it, it was too late. The cutlass came down strong and hard as it cut of Dan's armour and flesh.
Nero had managed to cut him seven times. Nero then landed on the same exact place he had cut Dan and used it as a launch pad.
He grinned at his handiwork as he saw Dan who was nearly fully engulfed in the sand. His hands and legs were restricted and the sand only kept going up his body restricting him even further.
Soon the sand reached his throat and he was fully restrained.
The fight ended like that. Nero grinned goofishly as he looked at the state Dan was in. "Seems like you are having trouble breathing, don't worry the poison wont kill you, we know it takes you several minutes to recover from the weaker poison but this one is at least 5 times stronger. Your immune system will protect you just like it always does."
"Please shut up," Litori said. "We are to capture him, not kill him by listening to your voice." Litori came from out of the sand in sand form and then turned back into her normal body of flesh and bones.
"Crion?" Dan asked as the sand continued covering his face and he was fully enclosed in it.
Charlie was swimming in the river. Despite it being a river it was deep enough to be called a lake. Charlie could feel the mana emanating from the fight. A testament to how strong he had grown. He sat down on the floor of the river cross legged and closed his eyes. Recently he had started to meditate under the river. He found it peaceful.
'I'm sure Dan can handle whatever is going on, good thing I hid my mana before the fighting started.'
It was only a matter of time till they left the abyss. He would find his brother no matter what happened. In this dark gloomy place, amidst the heavy gravity and harsh training the only thing that pushed him forward was the thought of seeing his brother and holding him.
It was only a matter, just a bit more that he needed to hold on.
Back on the surface Kolfi chopped the two on the head. "Stop arguing," she said to them. She looked at the sand monument in front of her and patted it. "Ha, to think we would capture you again."
Litori placed the talisman on the sand. Kolfi hit her fists against one another. Her hair rose on edge and her eyes glowed, her entire body glowed especially her arms. A sphere of light surrounded the sand. She then moved her hand and it started to float.
"Are you going to keep him like that until we get back to base?" Nero asked.
"Yes, I have to, last time I teleported him to the prison cells he just simply broke out. So we have to drop him of at the sphinxes vault."
Nero nodded in understanding but he felt pity for Dan. The sphinxes vault was not just any vault that anyone could break in or out of due to the fact that they were guarded by actual sphinxes.
Sphinxes were sentient smart creatures and could usually be found guarding treasure. Sometimes they would be used by dragons to gaurd their gold but not all the time.
Not even the smartest of criminals could break in no matter how logical and complex their plan was. Even if it was fool proof it would not be enough to get past the sphinxes. Many also tried overpowering them but with their immense strength, sturdy body, mana negation abilities and their immunity to all elemental attacks it was near impossible. They were practically the phoenixes main predators.
Being taken to the sphinxes vault was practically a death sentence. He would be reprogrammed and brain washed until he was a soldier who was ready to fight to death.
Litori looked at the sand in the sphere of light. For some reason it felt different. It felt lighter. Litori was about to pass it of as her imagination until she saw a shadow moving towards Nero.
"Watch out!" she shouted but it was too late.
The shadow rose from the ground and formed into the shape of a human before turning into an actual human. It was Dan. Dan raised his hand and placed them in Nero's mouth, one on his lower jaw the other on the upper jaw.
CRAAAAAACKKKK!
