Chapter 108
Dan had been walking for quite a while enjoying the atmosphere. The gravity of this place wherever it was, was significantly weaker than when he was in the abyss. It also felt restrictive as everything seemed smaller.
Even the occasional lions or elephants he saw where smaller than the one's back home. Back home the lions were the size of these elephants and the elephants back home were bigger than these one's.

Dan looked to his left to see a metallic egg shaped creature with a giant eye in the middle of it's face. Or so Dan assumed.
Dan reached his hand out and touched the floating egg. "Who are you?"

"So you represent the system." a smile formed on Dan's face as he reached his hands out towards the egg creature. The egg moved out of the way as its eye flashed.
➡️ Hostility detected!
"It's a good thing you did because I'm gonna make some scrambled eggs for myself."
No matter how fast Dan moved the egg would always dodge it no matter what. Even if Dan tried hindering it's movements by cornering it to a wall made of earth that he conjured it would still be able to dodge.
After quite some time Dan waved his hand. "I give up, seems impossible."
Dan walked for a while before quickly turning around and grabbing the egg unsuccessfully. He gave up after this.
"So what exactly are you?" Dan asked.

"Yes you said that before but what exactly do you even do? What is the purpose of you?"

"Language barrier? So far there has been none, it's like everyone can understand me so do I even need you."

"Just because you repeated yourself does not mean I automatically understand what you said." Dan shouted. He thought for a while and nodded. It did make sense how everyone could understand him. How he was able to have a normal conversation with Crion. All this time he had been reaping an important benefit of the system without even knowing.

Dan walked in silence with the egg assistant floating behind him. He slowly started jogging before breaking into a full on sprint. He turned to his left to see the egg assistant floating behind him.
He sped up even further and saw the egg assistant behind him by quite a distance. Dan came to stop as did the egg assistant.
Dan looked around at his surroundings. He had never seen anything like this.
Tall white buildings that touched the clouds, metal objects zooming past him with people inside. Giant metal birds in the sky. There were screens on some of the tall buildings with bright coloured advertisements. There were also several billboards but Dan only stared at the one where a woman wearing only a bikini with giant melons was holding a bottle of lotion.
Dan moved his way around the people and stood in the middle of the road.
BEEEEPPP! BEEEP!
The horns of the cars were struck several times by the people inside as they had nearly hit Dan. Cars swerved wildly until finally they came to a stop.
"Move out of the road!"
"What are you doing you idiot?"
Shouts of anger and words of profanities towards Dan came from the drivers of the cars.
Dan stared at them before clicking his tongue and moving to the pavement.
The pavement was filled with so many people that it felt not a single drop of rain would touch the ground if it rained. Dan levitated above everyone and stared down at everyone who looked at him like they were ants.
Dan's attention was drawn to loud shouting and screams. As he turned his head he saw men, woman and children running rapidly. By the way they were running Dan could tell they were running for their lifes.
After all normal people would stop and help a child up to their feet and not trample on them. Dan was right though.
Chasing the people were creature's Dan had never seen in his entire life before. They walked on four arms and had six arms protruding out of their backs. Eyes on the palms of the protruding hands. Dan could see their spines as most of their skin was missing. The creature's were surprisingly fast as they jumped on the people who were running. The bit down onto the people's spines, heads or just any part they could get to.
Dan perched himself on a lamppost and activated his stealth skill. He watched in silence as the people writhed in agony and pain as they were eaten alive. The creature's ripped of giant chunks of their bodies with a single bite. He could see the agony on their faces and could almost feel their pain.
"If you have strength, that strength of yours must be used to protect people." Dan remembered Kliran's words from long time ago.
"Why should I protect? I don't want to protect?" a younger Dan asked.
"Hmmm, because it's your duty Dan, the strong protect the weak so that we all can survive. We all codepend on each other. I'm not saying you should protect people because it is the moral thing to do but remember, codependency is an important part of nature just like survival of the fittest."
"But what if they have nothing to offer me, what if they offer me something pointless with no value."
"Everything has value Dan, even if you can not see it."
"But what if it is truly worthless?"
"What is wrong with you? I'm trying to give you a life lesson but you ask so many questions. Just say yes I understand. What is so hard about that?"
Dan chuckled as he remembered the conversation he had with Kliran when he was younger. If Kliran saw him know he knew he would be disappointed but he did not care. Dan was a firm believer of survival of the fittest. It may seem like a heartless thing to watch these creatures kill humans but in Dan's eyes what was more heartless was protecting the prey that the creatures were hunting.
If he protected them then he was refusing for nature to run its course. He had slaughtered lots of animals when he worked as a part time butcher but no one came running to save the cows, pigs and goats he was slaughtering.
Dan also knew what it was like for the prey he was hunting to be stolen right in front of him.
Dan remembered how he got into a fight with Pedro for protecting a pregnant rabbit that he wanted to kill and eat.
In Dan's eyes every life was equal and held no value except for his and a few others. If those creatures caught themselves prey then who was he to stop them? Why should he save these humans from these creatures? Was it because they were both human? 'If they did not want to be prey then they should have strived for strength that made them predators and not prey!' Is what Dan told himself.
FKSSSHHH!
A large electrical current swept through the street killing several of the creatures.
Dan glanced at the area where the electricity originated from only to see a naked man with long red hair standing in the middle of the street.
Dan looked around and had not even noticed the damage done by the creatures while he was thinking? Bodies littered the street, a strong pungent smell came from the creatures that Dan had not even noticed. Several windows were broken and several cars were on fire.
"Seems like I'm the first to arrive." the man said.
The man moved his head back until it was staring at the sky and raised 2 fingers.
"I'll wipe you all out in 2 minutes."
The man's hair stood on edge as lightning covered his body. He jumped forward rotating like the blades of a propeller plane.
The lightning cut creatures left and right not sparing any of them. The humans who were alive and had still not been caught breathed a sigh of relief. They stood up and came together before watching the man slay the creatures.
It was an amazing sight to behold. None of them had seen anything like this. It was the stuff they would see in some kind of superhero movie or anime show.
The creature's disintegrated into ash as soon as the electricity touched them. It was going well until finally the man stopped rotating and flew into a building. He flew into several buildings before coming to a stop.
Dan deactivated his stealth ability and looked at the creatures that were left. "What are you waiting for? Go feast on your prey."
"Human, you speak our language? How?"
"Shut up, by the time I deal with that idiot, I want you all to have taken your food and cleared out this area." Dan moved forward and disappeared leaving the creatures wondering what on earth just happened.
"Alright everyone grab some food and let's get going." the creature said to the others.

Thoughts? Thus was the final chapter and this book will be put on hold for quite some time. It could be longer than a year but I am writing other stories if you want to keep yourself entertained.
Hey what's up guys, please read this if you can. I enjoyed writing this book greatly but sadly I have to bring it to a close. This book will be put on hold for a long time but in the meantime I will be writing other stories to improve my writing.
One of the books I will be writing is called 'I will save my love even if I turn into a monster.' Its a female lead but there will be mostly action. I plan on keeping it to thirty chapters.
Also the other book that I am writing is called from 'Hero to Demon lord'. The mc will be a proper villain. Also his system is not op but he himself is op and gained all that power because of his own strength. I submitted it into WSA 2022 so please vote for me.
