CHAPTER 3: Last Meal

" Why did this happen to my son? He never did anything wrong so why did this cruel world take him away from me?"

Seiko's mom was crying as she was hugging Seiko's dad.  It had been five days since Seiko was stabbed and the whole world knew about his heroics but that would not bring him back.

Seiko's brother was next to them crying as well.After he got he news of his brother's death he had to cancel his trip and come back. All of them were in their kitchen ready to eat but none of them could get anything down their throat. It was too suffocating for them to eat when the person who was the reason they could fill their stomach without any problems was not there.

"Mom, Dad,  Brother."

The three of them could hear Seiko's voice and they were startled.

"Seiko, my son."

His mother stood up and looked around. Soon they could see Seiko and he was levitating like a ghost. None of them were scared but all of them were happy that he was there. They simply loved him that much.

His mother tried to grab his hand but it passed through his body. Seiko looked at his mom.

"Mom, Dad and Brother I am dead. This is just my soul. I came here to tell you that I am about to be transmigrated."

His mom and dad did not understand but his brother did.

"You mean you will live in another world."

His brother said as he was shocked and sad that his brother was about to live him forever. His parents also could not believe what they had heard.

"Yes and this might be the last time we meet. I do not have much time left but I want to assure you that I will be fine. Just think of it as me moving to another place and never coming home again."

His family cried even more. They just could not handle the fact that their beloved family member was leaving so early.

"Do not worry, the place I will be going to is not the bad and is peaceful and safe so I will be fine. I just want to tell you to take care of yourself."

He then looked at his brother.

" Brother I have my bank account details in my computer. There are two accounts, one for you and other for father and mother. Use that money however you want and fulfil your dream of becoming a pilot. Do not let anything stop you and make sure to take care of mom and dad as well and make sure to delete my browser history."

His brother wiped his tears. He wanted to look mature in front of his brother for the last time. 

" I will become someone you can be proud of and you also make sure to live a fulfilling life."

Seiko 'smiled'. He then looked at his parents.

"Mom, Dad.... Thank you for everything. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for helping me find my path. Thank you for always being there for me and Thank you for embracing the abyss inside of me." Seiko did not know what gratitude was but still he wanted to thank his parents.

His parents hugged him. Even though they could not touch him, they wished their warmth could reach him. His brother also joined.

"Seiko. Thank you for being my son. Your dad is proud of what you have done and I will always be proud of what you will do even in the future, even if you choose something wrong."

His dad said as he stopped hugging Seiko.

His mother still hugged him. She still was not ready to let him go. She kept trying to pull his body towards her but it was meaningless.

"Mom. Lets eat."

Seiko said as his body moved and he sat on his chair. His mother wiped her tears and served food for everybody. Seiko could not eat but he acted as if he was eating.  His parents did not touch their plate as they watched their son for the last time.

Soon his body started to turn to dust. The ten minutes was up and it was time to go.

"Looks like I have to go. I enjoyed the meal mom.....I really did. I will lead a happy life in another world so do not worry too much. Mom and Dad go on vacation sometimes. Do not overwork in the cafe and brother make sure to spend time with them. I am glad I was a part of this family."

His mom looked at Seiko and smiled.

"You were, are and will always be part of our family."

Seiko also 'smiled' at his family for the last time.

" Even though I do not know  what 'love'  is. It could be the emptiness in my heart and even if it is then I do not care. I just love you all from the bottom of my heart."

Seiko said to his family and bid farewell to them.

" I love you too, my brother."

" I love you too, my son."

" I love you too, my child."

Seiko's body disappeared into thin air....leaving this world forever
