moon chasers: Blood and shadows

Chapter 15.

"Moonchaser: Light and shadows.

*************

Vlad called another meeting where the final plans were made..

The guests are to wear a special mask to the party.

Barbara immediately got the information from her spy and decided to pay Dr. Stevens a surprise visit.

Alrighty, continuing from where we left off...

Barbara informed Dr. Stevens about her suspicions regarding the upcoming party. Dr. Stevens was skeptical at first, but after Barbara showed him the evidence she'd gathered, he was convinced that something was amiss. "We have to act fast," he said. "If we don't stop this party, it could be disastrous." He quickly gathered the other Moonchaser, and they began to plan their next move. "I think we should pose as caterers," Barbara

suggested.

"What about the special masks"?,Dr. Stevens asked.

That have been taken care of, Barbara said and brought out a box containing the exact masks for the events.

My job here is done,I shall take my leave, remember the moon chasers cannot know about me till the right time.

So saying,she walked away.

After Barbara left the room, Dr. Stevens turned to the other Moonchaser. "We need to act fast," he said. "We'll need to disguise ourselves as caterers, and get inside the party. Once we're there, we'll need to find a way to stop the guests from drinking the serums." The other Moon chasers nodded, their faces grim. They knew that what they were about to do was risky, but they also knew that it was necessary.

The next few days were a blur of preparation. The Moonchaser scouted out the location of the party, and they gathered the supplies they would need to pull off their plan. Finally, the day of the party arrived. The Moonchaser donned their disguises and set off for the venue. As they arrived, they wore their masks, they could see that the party was already in full swing. The guests were laughing and chatting, and a large buffet table was set up in the center of the room. Dr. Stevens surveyed the scene, his heart pounding in his chest.

He spotted the serums on the buffet table, and he knew they had to act quickly. "We'll need to separate the serums from the other drinks," he whispered to the other Moonchaser. "We don't want anyone else to get sick." The other Moonchaser nodded, and they moved in different directions, each of them with a specific task in mind. Meanwhile, Dr. Stevens headed straight for the buffet table, his heart pounding in his chest. He needed to act quickly, but he also needed to be careful.

Dr. Stevens moved towards the buffet table, trying to look casual. His heart was racing, and he felt beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He was aware of the other guests looking at him curiously, but he tried to act as if everything was normal. He reached the table, and with a shaking hand, he picked up a tray of glasses filled with the serums. Just as he was about to move away from the table, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around, and found himself face to face with a tall, imposing figure.

"What are you doing?" the figure asked, his voice low and menacing. Dr. Stevens felt his blood run cold. He recognized the figure - it was mike, one of the doctors from the City hospital . "I... I'm just bringing some drinks to the guests," he stammered, trying to keep his voice from shaking. "I didn't realize that you were here." Mike's eyes narrowed, and he leaned in closer. "I'm watching you," he said.

Dr. Stevens tried to keep his composure, but his heart was racing. He had to get away from mike, but he didn't want to draw attention to himself. "Please, I'm just trying to do my job," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Mike's grip on his shoulder tightened. "You're hiding something," he said, his eyes boring into Dr. Stevens, remove your mask,I'm sorry sir but I'm not allowed to remove my mask as is against the rules of the party,Dr. Stevens said.even you sir knows as well. Dr. Stevens could feel the blood rushing to his head, and he knew he had to think fast.

"I'm not hiding anything," Dr. Stevens said, his voice quivering slightly. "I just want to make sure that the guests are happy." Mike continued to stare at him, his expression unreadable. Then, without warning, he released his grip on Dr. Stevens' shoulder and stepped back. Dr. Stevens let out a small sigh of relief, but he knew that he wasn't out of danger yet. "You're a strange one," mike said, his voice full of suspicion.

"I'm just doing my best," Dr. Stevens said, trying to sound as convincing as possible. "I'm sorry if I seemed strange. I'm just trying to make sure everything goes smoothly." Mike looked at him for a moment, his eyes flicking over every inch of Dr. Stevens' mask. Finally, he nodded. "Fine," he said, his voice cold. "But I'm still watching you." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Dr. Stevens standing alone, his heart still pounding in his chest.

As Dr. Stevens watched mike disappear into the crowd, he took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. Then, he turned back to the buffet table and picked up the tray of drinks, determined to finish his task. But as he did so, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Mike was still out there, watching him, waiting for him to make a mistake. And he knew that he couldn't afford to make one. Not if he wanted to keep himself, and the other Moonchaser safe.

With a sense of dread weighing heavily on his shoulders, Dr. Stevens made his way through the crowd, offering drinks to the guests as he went. Each time he handed someone a drink, he tried to act as normal as possible, but he could feel his nerves starting to get the better of him. His hands shook as he held the tray, and his voice trembled as he spoke. He just hoped that no one would notice. But then, he saw someone approaching him out of the corner of his eye. And he froze.

As the figure came closer, Dr. Stevens could see that it was a woman, dressed in a long, flowing gown. She was carrying a fan, which she used to fan herself as she walked. Dr. Stevens tried to calm himself, but his heart was pounding in his chest. The woman stopped in front of him, and looked up at him with a questioning expression. "Do you have any water?" she asked, her voice light and airy. Dr. Stevens' mouth went dry. "I...

"I'm sorry, I don't have any water," Dr. Stevens managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper. The woman looked at him for a moment, then sighed. "That's a shame," she said, "I'm feeling rather parched. Perhaps you have something else to offer?" Dr. Stevens' mind raced. What could he offer her? He couldn't think of anything. But then, he remembered the tray of drinks he was carrying. "I have these," he said, lifting the tray slightly.

The woman smiled, and reached out to take a drink from the tray. As she did so, Dr. Stevens saw something glinting on her finger. It was a ring, set with a large, sparkling gem. she winked at him and walked away.

After refreshments were served, the event official kicked off with the president making a speech followed by Vlad...
