Roxy didn't dare to make a sound and kept trying to think of what answer Ezzo wanted to hear. She thought she could buy some time, but Ezzo didn't seem to have much patience.
"Tick, tock, tick, tock. Time's up."
Roxy's face paled at that, and she closed her eyes again in anticipation of the incoming attack.
Several clicking sounds were heard, but no gunshots were coming at her, which made Roxy frown in confusion. Her hands gripping the blankets trembled even more violently, and she gulped with cold sweat on her spine.
When the clicking sound stopped, Roxy opened her eyes and saw Ezzo still sitting in his place with his hand holding the gun aimed at her head.
Casually, Ezzo opened the bullet holder and snickered evilly. "My bad. I forgot I only loaded one bullet."
Roxy's nerve system broke out hearing that and felt her eyes moistened to see Ezzo reload his gun.
