Chapter 7:

Albert was born before the marriage of his parents, his eyes were like his mother, red. However, the shade was different, Albert's eyes were red as blood whilst his mother's resemble that of a shining ruby. People in their estate were scared to look at Albert, even his own Mother felt terror. Because of this, the Duchess left them which made Albert feel as if his world was crumbling. Even more so when he heard his mother's words.

"He isn't my son, Aldern! His eyes, isn't like mine!" She shouted, poor Albert sitting behind those tall doors, listening to her mother's screaming. Tears came running down on his face, when his father came out of the room and saw him.

His father look at him with pity. Then he grabbed Albert and brought him to an underground, inside of it was like a lab. Albert's father made him sit down on a chair and gave him a drink.

"What is this, Father? Albert asked.

"It is to change the color of your eyes, but it won't last long." His father said, so he agreed and drank it. He felt his eyes changed, his father showed him a mirror. He saw his eyes, it was simple hazelnut brown eyes.

"One day, someone's mana will break the spell. Your eyes will return to its real color. So, you better be careful." Then that day, he promised himself that he'll be aware with those people who's mana is neither strong or weak.

But, it just happened. The spell broke when he met that apprentice. The way the apprentice looked at Albert wasn't horrified nor shocked, it was calm and pity. He expected a reaction, but he really couldn't just accept that a low life girl could break the spell.

He flinched when Thalia touched his cheek, "Your eyes... are like ruby." He never expected this. Thalia wasn't scared. And he thought, why did she say ruby? When people said his eyes are red as blood.

"The sun reflects on your eyes, it really shines the brightest ruby." He felt his heart beat fast. It's like Thalia brought the sun to him. No, Thalia is the sun.

"Albert!" The momentum was ruined when Duke Aldern arrived, they were shocked to see Albert's eyes. Duke Aldern ran to Albert and covered his eyes using his coat.

"How? How did you break the spell?" Duke Aldern asked to Thalia.

"Duke Aldern, maybe the spell really wore off after a long time." Sir Adair said, he's breathing heavily and behind him is Brother Killian also breathing heavily.

"No, the spell will only be broken, when Albert feels a mana who's strong and powerful." They all looked at me.

"Father, enough." Albert said , and remove his Father's coat.

"But..." He touched his father's hand for assurance.

"Thalia said, my eyes are like my mom's when reflected by the sun." Duke Aldern looked at Thalia, and Thalia nodded.

"Sir Albert's eyes, shines like the brightest ruby." Albert blushed by what Thalia said, then he heard Killian scoffed.

"What are you talking about, Thalia? Look at his eyes, they're like blood." Killian said, Sir Adair smack Killian's head.

"It's really true, his eyes we're like shining rubies." Duke Aldern wanted to believe, so to prove it. He put Albert in an opposite position where the sun is facing. Then he looked at Albert's eyes.

"It's still look blood." His father said in a disapproving way.

"Because, you're putting me in the wrong sun." Albert said. They all looked at Albert.

"What are you talking about? We only have one sun, Sir Albert." Sir Adair said.

"No, you're wrong. Thalia is the sun." He said, with blushing cheeks. Killian scoffed again.

"She looked like the sun when she touched my cheek, she was like glowing." They all wanted to believe on Albert's word, but Sir Adair believe that Thalia is still young to control her mana.

After what happened at the Garden, Sir Aldern let us stay at his mansion for one night. Thalia was in another room, next to her was Killian's room. She did her night routine and went to bed. She was about to sleep, when someone knocked.

"Come in." The door opened revealing Sir Adair.

"Sir Adair." She sit up from her bed.

"Thalia, I told you to call me Father, remember?" Oh yeah, when I started living in the Magic Tower, Sir Adair forced me to call him 'Father'.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Father." He smiled and patted my head.

"It's okay, I just want to know how you broke the spell." I know he would asked that question, but I'm more confused than all of you.

"Father, I don't really know. When I saw his eyes, he really looked down. So, I thought his eyes has past. I only wanted to comfort him, so I touched his cheek." Sir Adair listened attentively to every word I said so I continued.

"So, when I touched his cheek. His eyes reflected, like for somehow the sun was behind me, then his eyes shine like a ruby." Sir Adair just nod.

"I know. Sir Albert is happy quite awhile now. His father was shock when he saw his son's eyes." Why?

"What happened?" I asked.

"It changed, it's now like his mother, those ruby eyes." I sigh in relief.

"That's good to hear, Father." He smiled. But he looks a bit worried.

"I know. Now, you go to sleep. We'll be leaving early." I nod and laid down. Sir Adair kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight Thalia."

"Goodnight Father." After Sir Adair left, my eyes roamed around the room. My eyes stopped at the giant window, the moonlight illuminates through the clear curtains. I fell asleep just by looking the curtains swish.

She didn't know that there was someone looking at her, still those eyes are mesmerizing deep emerald. He looked around the grounds of the mansion, he knows he couldn't get in easily. The mansion was also highly guarded and he doesn't want to face Sir Adair, yet.
