Chapter 27 - The Time Wall

Serefina let out a sigh. She was holding her breath the whole time she and her friends passed through the portal.

Linda stood between the ivies with a grin on her face. "Welcome back!"

"Miss Linda," Bryan bowed.

"Prince Bryan, did your plan work?" She eyed Serefina who so wanted to yell for making her worried.

Bryan chuckled. "You shouldn't have said that now. You know, Sef is likely to strangle me at any moment.'"

"Forgive me, Your Highness. And you too Miss Serefina. I have heard about you a lot from the Prince and it seems like he described you pretty as you are!"

Bryan cleared his throat. "Uhm...let's just get to the point, shall we?"

As far as Serefina remembered, she was trying her hardest to hide her blushing. Bryan called her pretty? Really?

"So this is where you disappeared," Rhys said.

"Prince Rhys! I have been waiting to inform you about why I Ieft the kingdom."

"I don't wanna know. Besides if I accidentally spilled it to dad, then you know what he'll do."

"I beg your pardon. It has occurred to me to send you a letter or something but I just couldn't convince myself to write it."

Serefina made her way towards Kyle. "What is happening?" she whispered.

"Linda was the Royal Magician of Timnetia and also Rhys' personal tutor since he was just two years old," Kyle explained.

Two years. Did all royalty start their education when they're only two years old?

"Why did she leave Timnetia?" Serefina asked.

"Only Bryan knows and he has never told anyone. Not even Big Brother."

Bryan and Kyle's Big Brother. He was also a mystery. Critty knew about his disappearance but no one else did.

Rhys sighed. Serefina felt some kind of tension between them.

"Anyways," Bryan started, "can we proceed for the Time Wall, Miss Linda?"

"Yes, sure. Your Highness, this way," Linda said and started towards the end of the ivy covered porch.

There was a staircase leading down. And Serefina's jaw dropped as she looked down. There were about to walk on clouds?

The four of them followed Linda down the stairs. And when they reached the last stair, Serefina hesitated.

"It's solid. You're not going to fall," Bryan assured.

She didn't know what got into her but she stepped on the clouds without another word. That was trust, I guess, she thought.

Linda said something which sounded like, "thnvswcguzdt." She reapted the word again and again. Till the Earth or the clouds shook.

From all the four directions glass walls started to emerge. They revealed to be taller and taller like ice bergs. When the clouds stopped shaking. The roof also came out of the four glass walls, trapping all of them inside the giant cube.

"Here is the Time Wall," Linda raised her hands in the air like showing a castle.

So this was the Time Wall. A magical machine to cast dreams like a projector. Well, this was the time when she would find out who the two ladies were...
