Chapter 24 - A Special Person

Serefina's eyes opened. She saw Bryan in a sitting position and when she looked at him, eyes gaping, he smiled. Well, he was already smiling before.

"Thought you were gonna wake up when the world ends," Bryan said.

"You woke up?" Serefina asked. "But hundred years?"

"That was just to see how would you react. I told Linda to tell you this."

Serefina couldn't believe it. All this time...

"How could you!" Serefina blurted out, anger in her voice. "All this time I was crying for nothing. You know how much worried I was? Thinking of how to bring you back." She bursted in tears.

"Sef, its fine. I am back now right?" Bryan said taking the hand Serefina had kept on his. "I apologize. It was just-"

"I thought all this happened just because of me."

"It was not your fault and it never will be because it was my decision to trasnsfer emotions. I apologize for if I scared you this much. Well, Kyle should have told you that this was temporary."

"Wait Kyle knew about this?" Serefina's eyes widened. That was the reason Kyle didn't say anything to Linda. But it looked like she really was in shock.

"Yeah, I told her while you were unconscious in the Time crystal."

"Why didn't you tell me after?"

"You had your own questions, remember?"

"Ugh, I hate-" Serefina grumbled.

"Uh! Don't say it!" Bryan inturrupted. "Can't handle you saying that."

Serefina blushed but shook her head. "You don't try to change the subject!"

"I really am serious and I'm definitely not changing the subject," Bryan smirked. And it was the first time Serefina had seen him smirk. "By the way, I nearly forgot."

He reached for his coat kept beside him. And then he started searching for something in his coat pocket. He took out a pink glass box and held it in front of her. "Happy birthday, Sef."

"Wait, how did you know it was my birthday?"

"You told me in school."

"But I just told you it was 'next week'."

Bryan hesitated. "I have my ways. Open the box."

Serefina sighed and reched for the glass box. The glass felt cold against her skin. When she opened the box there it was, she and Bryan sitting on the white sand in Crintona looking at the sky full of stars.

It was a glass ball. Everything was inside the tiny glass sphere. Though it was big enough to see every detail.

Serefina smiled. "Thank you." she whispered.

"In a special place with a special person," Bryan whispered back. "But it took a lot of brainstorming on what to gift you."

"This is the first time someone gifted something to me other than grandma Hannah." A tear dropped from Serefina's eyes on the ball. "I will always keep this with me."

"Always?" Bryan raised an eye brow.

"Uh-I mean as a lucky charm, you know?"

Bryan chuckled. "Just make sure it doesn't fall. Glass is too sensitive."

Serefina nodded, still smiling.

"Let's drop you home, shall we?"

"Wait," Serefina interrupted, "before we go, there's something I need to do."

"What?" Bryan said, confused.

"This." Serefina wrapped Bryan into the tightest hug ever (in a good way that is) as she promised herself. Bryan seemed shocked at first but he himself wrapped his arms around her.

And the day was over. She didn't celebrate her birthday with grandma Hannah this year but she did celebrate it with a special person. She didn't regret that there was no cake. Because there was a person who had become more important than a cake.

The only thing was that she didn't got to use the Time Wall. Well, another day without grandma Hannah. When was she going to find her?

It seemed like Bryan had heard her thoughts because he whispered, "Let's go find your grandma."

Serefina pulled away from the hug to look at him. "Now?"

"Now." Bryan's smirk confirmed that he wasn't in a joking mood.
