Chapter 72
The whole battlefield was dyed in the monster's blood. But even so the monster seemed fine as it growled at everyone. If they didn't know any better they would have thought Roxanne might have already finished eliminating him.
But even when his blood was everywhere the monster didn't care. It had no need for blood in the first place. For it the blood was a tool that would be used for hunting its prey.
" Don't come near that thing " Warned Roxanne as she eyed the monster seriously. For the last few minutes she had been experimenting many different ways to bring this guy down. And although she managed to seal its regeneration abilities, danger senses didn't lower at her. She felt that this monster was hiding something very dangerous. So unless she is 100% sure she can't let anyone get close to it.
Conjuring a few weapons made from darkness she charged towards it. When she was just in front of the monster Roxaane held two swords in her hand and pierced them into its abdomen.
The monster didn't block or dodge; on the contrary it smiled widely as the swords came out from its body. But its expression darkened when it didn't get a hold of Roxanne who jumped back while thrusting a spear towards the hands that tried to bind her.
After she got enough distance from the monster she gave it a wide smirk that seemed to ridicule it's actions. The monster finally snapped. Like a certain strawhat pirate in a certain anime it began to blow its thumb.
Soon its body began to swell and become like a balloon. Watching this Roxanne had a sudden thought, 'WTF did I somehow change worlds or did Amy throw a devil fruit into this planet '
Even though her mind was occupied with such useless thoughts she didn't wait for the monster to power up itself. Although she has no idea what will come next she deployed multiple barriers around it. After that she made a hand sign began to chant a spell she rarely use,
" Let me provide you a prayer to the divine. I hope and desire for the power of the holy spirit. Listen to my appeal and overcome all in your way!
Disintegration!! "
Geometrical designed magic circles began to appear in layers inside the barrier. The magic circles glowed in myriad colours completely lightning up the surroundings. And with Roxxane's command a pillar of holy beam ascended to the sky. The monster who was in the center of the pillar had to endure the full brunt of the spell.
" ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR" a roar filled with intense pain was heard in the battle field. The roar was so loud that the windows that survived the battle were broken from the sound wave.
" ohh that might have hurt, " said Roxanne offhandedly. She completely ignored the terrified and dumbfounded looks she was getting from the back.
Michael and Azazel were dumbfounded that Roxanne could even do something like that. You know that spell is already on the rank of their pops divine miracles. Sirzechs was horrified because he couldn't tell if he could survive after being hit by that spell. Although he wouldn't want to antagonise Shaltier due to her organisation's crazy information gathering skills. Now he has another reason to be wary of them. Although his instincts tell him that he would be able to keep his life with experience he knew that he would be in a very serious state and unable to do anything after that spell hits him.
" damn you fallen " a rough distorted voice laced with venom and uncontrolled anger was heard making almost everyone startled.
Looking at the direction the voice came from they found the monster still standing although barely. But now his eyes which were unfocussed had intelligence. And of course in those intelligent eyes there is barely contained anger
" Well this got more complicated," muttered Roxanne with a wry smile.
She really had to say Rizeviem truly outsmarted her this time. When she was fighting with the monster she always suspected that their fight was too easy. For someone who could make the three faction leaders serious with their presence alone the monster is too weak.
Even when it was about to power up itself the process was taking too long. When you are fighting a high level opponent every second can decide the outcome of the battle. At that time she didn't understand why the monster wanted to shed its skin. But now she knows why.
When Rizeviem created this monster he must have sealed its consciousness to gain some control over it. And so when she attacked it with her holy attacks the seal must have loosen a bit. So the monster instinctively wanted to destroy anything that was restricting him. So this is why he destroyed his human body.
The whole swelling up thing was the monster gathering its poison blood to destroy the body. Due to the poison completely corroding the bones from the inside it looked like his body was made from rubber.
Although in normal cases when someone regains their senses they will first find the reason for their predicament and then take revenge on the person responsible for it. But unfortunately the one in front of her is a demon. And for demons their pride and arrogance is something even Zeus could ever dream of achieving.
' So this guy will prioritise getting rid of me to wash his shame ' Roxanne thought with a sigh. Dealing with demons and devils tends to be troublesome.
" caster deploy formation Beta , this is going to be troublesome " Roxanne ordered as she could feel the real fight is about to start. And she was right.
During the few seconds Roxanne was thinking some random things the monster managed to regenerate itself. But this time his form was a bit different. Instead of looking like a complete monster he now looked like a demi human who has pale skin . red eyes and very long claws. Of course he had animalistic characteristics like the eyes being quite similar to the eyes of a fly and his bat-like wings.
" I'm going to shred you into pieces of you piece of shit " the monster roared as it dashed towards Roxanne.
