An Old Friend Returns

"How do you two know eachother?" Maddy asked. Liam looked at Diana, who nodded slightly before walking over and leaning against a tree.

"Well we met when we were children, my parents wanted to arrange a marriage," as Liam said this everyone looked between the two in shock.

"Wait! YOUR ENGAGED!!!" Maddy and Crystal shrieked in unison.

"Weren't you listening? He never said we were engaged," Diana sighed.

"Yep, neither of us wanted to be engaged and Diana played a large part in stopping it from happening, even when she was acting like a puppet she still had her ways. Inevatibly my parents gave up on the idea and in secret Diana and I became friends. She's actually the one who taught me how to use my bow and arrow." Liam finished explaining.

"Well enough about the past. Did you find what I asked for last time I saw you or not?" Diana asked inclining her head towards him.

"Yep found all I could," Liam replied throwing her the ebony satchel he'd been carrying over his shoulder. "Everything I could find is in there, but I have to say your parents were good at hiding everything even when you know where to look it's almost impossible to find it."

Diana put the satchel over her left shoulder "So why did you come looking for me?" she asked.

"Because you went into a kingdom that's at war!"

"With the wrong kingdom," Diana added.

"While that's most likely true it doesn't mean they won't kill you before you can prove that!"

"As if I'd get killed that easily," she retorted "after all you know how many times my supposed parents have tried to kill me in their fits of anger. Besides you worry too much." As Liam and Diana spoke the others looked between them.

"Your unreasonable and cryptic all the time its insufferable," Liam moaned.

"I wouldn't say that," Diana replied "Anyway, I'm taking it you're staying in Fortis."

"Yes after all I want to end this war as soon as possible and I can help with those pesky annoyances that my parents sent," Liam answered.

"Then you can stay at the palace, you are a crown prince after all," Alex spoke.

Diana sighed hearing this "Again, your way to trustful."

"Not at all, it's only proper manners to host the prince or princess of another kingdom. Besides you trust him, don't you Diana?" Alex asked a slight smile tugging at his lips.

"Liam, do you have a horse on you?" Diana asked ignoring the other fours laughter.

"Of course, how stupid do you think I am?" Liam retorted.

"Do you really want me to answer that?" Diana asked with a raised eyebrow.

"...No I dont think I do, well I'll go get my horse." Liam said sheepishly walking off to go get his horse. Diana put her fingers to her lips and whistled a high shriek like noise.

"What was that for?!?!" Kylo moaned when out ran a majestic blossom white horse, it's ashen main flowing like a fountain, eyes the colour of the sun.

"Right I forgot, Storm always liked you best." Liam sighed as Diana stroked Storms head ignoring Liam's comment.

"Lets go then," Diana said mounting Luna, Liam swiftly did the same mounting Storm. They all rode back to the castle with banter filling the air as the others laughed and joked. As Diana rode she scanned through the documents Liam gave her earlier. When she reached one page though she wished she could say what she read surprised her but it really didn't. On the next page she found the unwavering proof of its truth. 'This is just helping to conform my suspicions,' Diana thought.

Diana guessed most people would probably be in a state of hysteria or shock learning that their parents aren't their parents. Especially considering there are no documents to be found showing that you're adopted either but she's not surprised really. It's actually a relief knowing that she's not related to those hanouse beasts.

"What's that?" Alex asked riding up beside her the others banter still filling the forest.

"I believe that it might be just what I need to start untangling this web of lies and deceit." Diana replied still scanning through the documents. Once she finished Diana closed the leather satchel tying the burgundy bow before putting it back into the ebony satchel. That now hangs at her side.

'If this is true like I believe it to be, then why can I still not tell them who I am? Am I actually afraid of what will happen when I finally do confess?' Diana wondered. After awhile of just riding along banter filling the air Diana suddenly pulled Luna to a halt.

"Diana, you ok?" Alex asked beside her as she scans the now pitch black air.

"Do you smell that?" Diana asked still scanning the sky.

"It smells like smoke," Liam said just behind.

"And to much to be a simple campfire," Hunter added.

Diana kept scanning the air until she found it a large cloud of smoke spreading through the air. She quickly kicked Luna's side steering her in the direction of the smoke. Taking off the satchel and strapping it to the side of the saddle as she rides as fast a lighting toward the smoke. Diana heard the sound of the others galloping just behind her. As they got closer she fastened her bow and arrows to the back of Luna's saddle. Ten minutes later they all came to an abrupt stop.

"No," she breathed looking at the burning orphanage in front of her, screams echoing through the night. Wailing children screaming for their friends. As shrieks of those still stuck inside resonated through out Diana's entire body.

"No, not again!' Diana thought her eyes becoming hard as steal as a blizzard raged ferociously inside them rising to their surface. Towns people are trying their best to put out the fire. Without a second thought Diana jumped from Luna's saddle and dashed inside the orphanage.

"Diana!"

"Don't be an idiot!"

"Get out of there!"

"Come back here!"

"It's to dangerous!"

"Your being necklace!"

Diana could hear the others calling out behind her but she doesn't care she refuses abandon the children left inside this building.

'I saw movement on the second floor and it looked like they were in the fourth room on the right of the building.' she thought as smoke filled her lungs, fire roaring around her.
