Chapter 34

Princess Liviana's POV

On the day of the festival, my brother took my husband to somewhere I don't freaking know. He just suddenly grabbed my husband away from me without saying a word. How rude. Right now, I am strolling on the busy market while others are preparing for the parade. I want to watch the parade with my husband, but I don't know where to find them.

"Mind if I accompany you?" I was startled by someone who just spoke behind me. When I looked at him, he was controlling himself as not to laugh. He just found me amusing. "I apologize, Princess Liviana, for my sudden appearance." Prince Andrew said.

I shook my head even though I want to roll my eyes at him. "It's nothing. What are you doing here?" I asked, smiling.

"Your brother told me that you are alone, so I found you immediately." I quickly shot him a questioning look. What would my brother tell him that I am alone? He must be plotting something by taking away my husband. This is ridiculous. What was he thinking? Moreover, why Prince Andrew came to find me? "Stop staring at me like that, Princess. Look, they are starting the parade. Let's watch them." He said as he walked to the side of the street. I don't have any choice, but to follow him.

The parade got a huge crowd from a different kingdom. The parade was composed of musicians, dancers, actors, and actresses from the theater. There were people costumed as king, queen, prince, and princess. Horses and elephants are also part of the parade, and they are wearing colorful costumes. The music was so lively that everyone will dance to the beat.

While watching and having fun of the parade, my husband suddenly pops into my mind. He should've watched this. I really wanted to watch it with him. "What's the matter?" Prince Andrew asked. "Are you having fun?" He added.

I smiled. "I am. I just wished my husband was here to watch it with me. Do you know where they went?" I asked him.

"Your brother told me that he will take this opportunity to know your husband more." He said, smiling. "I will accompany you while they are having quality time." He said as he laughed. "I missed watching this parade. It's fun to watch them."He added.

I smiled. "Yeah, they are." I responded though I'm still uneasy about this thing. It still bothers me.

After watching the parade, Prince Andrew and I talk about random things while walking around the kingdom. The kingdom was open to all visitors, and several stores appeared on every corner of the street. Food stalls were selling different foods that I want to try with my husband, but I cannot even eat one of them because he's not with me. I don't know why I feel anxious whenever he's not around, especially this day of the festival. I wanted to show him more of our kingdom. I am starting to get pissed at my brother.

After walking around and checking all the stores, we decided to enter a coffee shop and ordered some drinks. I noticed how lively he is while talking about experiences throughout his adventures overseas. He asked about some of my experiences, but I just shared few things about my super exciting life inside the castle. Take note of the thick sarcasm. I hope he got what I meant. "Have you been into a marriage interview?" I asked as I tried to divert the topic.

He smiled bitterly. "My father is arranging few marriage interviews, but I never attended even one of those." He said.

I looked at him with a surprised and questioning reaction. "Why is that? Is something the matter?" I asked.

"I am not ready yet. I am still in the process of healing." He said while looking directly into my eyes. I tried my best to divert my gaze.

"Healing? What do you mean?" I asked as I sipped a cup of iced chocolate drink.

"My supposed bride has taken away from me. I mean, I should've done anything back then to make her mine. When I came back, I was late. It shattered my whole dream, my whole life." He said as disappointment and sadness were visible on his face.

"That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that. However, have you tried thinking that maybe, just maybe, she's not meant for you? Maybe there was someone who can fulfill your dream and be with your side until death does you part." I said as I gave an encouraging smile. I never thought that I would have this kind of conversation with him. We are not even closed, but now he's telling me his love life. What a sudden turned of events.

He smiled bitterly. "I hope you are right." He said. I nodded and smiled at him. I would like to say more advice, but I think prying on his love life is the same thing as crossing the line. I don't know how he will react if I ask more.

"I heard there will be a firework display tonight. Would you like to watch it later with me?" I looked at him, surprised. I knew there will be a firework display tonight, but what surprised me is his invitation. His smile and eyes are expecting my positive response. However, I never intended to watch it with anyone else other than my husband.

"I am grateful for your invitation, your highness. However, I must decline since I am planning to watch it with my husband." I said politely. "I think we must go and look for them before the show—"

"Why him?" He asked while looking angrily at me. I did not utter a single word because I don't have any idea what he was talking about. "Why do you have to agree to that stupid wedding?" He shouted as my eyes widen in disbelief. "He is not worth it of your whole being. You should've declined the marriage and waited for me." He yelled. "How could you jumped from one man into another while I was away. I have prepared everything for you to be my wife, but that worthless jerk ruined it for me."

"You don't have the right to bad mouth my husband, your highness. I don't know what has gotten into you. I should go—"

"Leave him and be with me." He said as I stopped from walking away from him. "I will make you happy and—"

"Say another word, and I will forget that you're my brother's best friend." I finally said and left him. I greeted my teeth in anger as I tried to compose myself while walking in the crowd. How rude can he be? He's a jerk. I never thought that he has that kind of intention on me. My brother must have planned this. I should look for my husband right now.
