The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate

"You are not human, like us, are you?" The words left my mouth in whispers as my eyes glanced around eyeing the destruction caused by the two men. Two men who had effectively taken out Twenty guards. All heavily armed and trained. But now, not even one old get up. "What gave that away?" My companion, who I had feelings for, mocked. "Perhaps the strength we displayed caused her to see reality," in the blink of an eye, he was in front of me making me stumble back in fear. "Is that not true, Princess?" I looked to the man who was silent and ever watchful. "Why? Why were you not true?" I loved him, only him I let myself feel for. He glanced around and spotted Diwal, my trusted advisor. "No one is true in nature here," he pointed to my advisor, "Not even him." Unwanted tears came to my eyes as I glanced around me. I could die tonight and it would all be in their hands. "Don't worry, your highness, it's just the time for it to come to light." My advisor smiled and so did the other two men. •••• A gentle yet cold bastard prince. The bulky, muscular King to be. Someone's watching.

My hatred for the man grew even more as they realise that he had a wife along with two sons and also had a mistress who was pregnant.

How could man fall so far?

He got off of me immediately and scrambled to get his pants on which I realised he had taken off while I thrashed around.

He got off and his sons waited for him, leaving behind him as he walked out.

"Are you leaving?" The man asked me, "I assume that you would be quicker than others and leaving this place."

He was. I slipped the dress over my shoulders and ran out.

"Stop!" He harshly whispered as he came near me and I frowned at the familiar face.

"Go for that exit." He pointed to the door. "There are only two guards over there and both deadly drunk. Go from there."

I nodded and took the chance. He was right. There were two men on the other side of the road slumped against the wall with empty bottles in their hands. They were dead drunk. I slipped past them and moved to the inn, shivering in the cold as my cloak has been taken away.

No innkeeper was sitting at the table when I came in and thankfully the door was open so I slipped past and walk to my room opening the door immediately found Gemma and Merilyn's worried eyes.

"Your Highness!" Gemma came running to me.

"Layla!" Merilyn brought a blanket to me as her eyes took in the state that I had returned with.

Now she remembers to call me with my alias.

"Where are you?!" Gemma scolded me. "You cannot just leave in the middle of the night in a city where we have no idea what kind of danger we might walk in!" She hissed and right now she looks like a dangerous mother hen. "I understand that you have been privileged and of your whole life to have guarded the on your back and call but that does not mean that you run out in the middle of a battle and expect to be protected."

That lowered my head in shame.

I had truly not expected my night to end at the hands of a rapist.

"I had no idea . . . " I sighed as m head was lowered in shame and tears came to my eyes. "If I did even remotely I would have never . ." My voice died down as I realised that there was a chance to the the the the the the the the night that I could have been touched and for the one thing that I had been very precious to everyone for. To marriage treaty.

I would have been ruined.

Gemma hugged me as I cried. "There, there Princess. This is not your kingdom and even if it was you could never step out of the palace like this." She rubbed my back and I embraced the warmth. "You have been sheltered all your life and you must understand that it puts you to a disadvantage." She cooed.

She pulled back and fixed my hair a bit, tying it into a braid. "Why don't you go to sleep? It might help." I nodded.

This Gemma took to the floor along with Merylin and left me on the bed which I gratefully took, still shivering from what I had gone through.

Even while lying in the bed I could still feel the man on top of me or at least in the room.

It was someone who was watching me and the howls tonight scared me even more.
