"What is the meaning of this?" Attendant Nan's outraged voice cuts through the air as she hurries forward, pulling Nalan behind her to confront Yettiri.
Both she and the Noble Consort fix their eyes on Yettiri with disbelief in their eyes.
Yettiri bows her head with the grace of a princess. "I was merely addressing the unacceptable behaviour of one of Your Highness's maids," she says as she lifts her head.
The Noble Consort's penetrating gaze lingers on Yettiri, her composure unruffled as she studies the lady before her.
"Her Highness treated you kindly, and this is how you repay her?" Attendant Nan demands, disappointment lacing her words. "Even as the Second Princess of Asana, you have no right to discipline a maid of the Moon Palace!"
A faint smirk curls Yettiri's lips as she crosses her arms over her chest. "And yet, here I am," she retorts, her tone dripping with arrogance.
