THE HEX 4

"Your Highness... Bad news, Your Highness!"

Getting dressed at that time, Zhu Su soon threw a confusing look to Wu Qi. That youth had been rushing into his house and now was standing in front of him, face was agitated. "What's wrong, Wu Qi?" He asked.

Wu Qi was breathless as he answered, "All streets in Yunnan... are full of dead bodies..."

Zhu Su stunned. It can't be, Witchcrafts of Xie Wang is the hell real?!?

He finished getting dressed in a hurry and soon left the house. He just walked not any longer, yet he had found a dead body was lying face down on the street. The farther he walked, the more corpses he found. And finally, he arrived at the town square, where people had been crowded together.

Mu Ying was already there, along with several Yunnan government officials and the people - most of them were sobbing. Some women were sniffing while the men beside them were calming them down. It turned out that many little children had become victims.

As they saw Zhu Su had arrived, all people immediately saluted him.

"What is going on here?" Zhu Su asked.

An official came forward. "May I report, Your Highness. We found those scattering corpses when we were on our way to the government office in the morning. We were just about to make a public announcement, yet the people had already come in droves. Apparently, they are the family members of the victims."

"Have you checked the cause of the deaths?"

"In an ongoing process."

Shortly after, Li Heng had been also at the scene. He soon checked the corpses' condition.

"They died at dawn," Li Heng concluded.

"And what is the cause of the deaths?"

"Still need more thorough investigation."

Suddenly a tone of furious voice burst out, "This misfortune can happen, all brought up by the Ming!"

Before the officials made any reaction, the second one shouted, "That's right! It's them who arise Xie Wang's wrath! Before Ming conquered us things are still going well, but after they come, curse and sickness comes damn frequently!"

"This time Xie Wang is so damn wrath he curses hundreds of people suffer to death!"

The invective quickly led to provocation.

"The Ming must be repelled from Yunnan! This is our land, not their land. Yunnan is owned to the Dali Kingdom!"

"We must drive out this invader from our homeland! By then the turmoil will be blown over!"

"Come on guys! Be brave, stand up, and attack them! Drive them out of our Yunnan!"

And, that commotion arose. Lots of hefty and well-equipped men broke through the crowd, and this time they were coming face to face with the government officials.

"Protect Zhou Wang!" Drawing his sword out, Mu Ying streaked forward, and so did the government army. Yet the amount of the officials incapable of combating was much more than those who were capable, including Li Heng - and also Zhu Su, whose martial skill was below average.

At first, it seemed that they were no match for Mu Ying. Literally, Mu Ying was a veteran general who had won lots of fierce wars; this nasty friction was exactly meaningless to him. However, he was unanticipated that the number of rebel forces was more than he thought. So strange, every time a rebel was defeated, he would get soon replaced. As if the enemies had legion soldiers.

And the worsen thing happened; half of the folks were trapped into provocation. They joined in attacking the government officials.

One of the rebels managed to approach Zhu Su. He raised his spear up high, ready to get the prince finished off.

"Stop that!" Dodging, Zhu Su shouted aloud. "All of you, stop hitting! Please, stop right now!"

Nobody cared with his shout. Riots were still going on. And that rebel was still eager to attack Zhu Su.
