New Rules

Neither Dan nor Bella said a word to the other for most of the drive to the house. They were both occupied with thoughts of their own. While Dan was thinking about how to keep his loved ones safe and take care of his father's company, Bella was thinking about the new rules they would have to make now that she was a single lady living with an equally single man under the same roof.

"What are you thinking about so seriously?" Dan asked, cutting into her thoughts.

"Huh?" Bella asked, surprised to see that they had arrived already and he had parked the car in front of the house.

"Are you worried about living here alone with me?" Dan asked with a concerned frown when he noticed she wasn't looking at him.

"Not exactly," Bella said, flashing him an awkward smile as she reached for the door and opened it.
