Bella sat bolt upright on her bed when she heard the shrill ringtone from her phone, and she looked around sleepily before picking up her phone, which seemed to have fallen off the bed, "Yeah?" Bella asked with a sleepy yawn immediately after she took the call before focusing on the caller's identity. It was Joan. 

"I suppose you're still sleeping, and I woke you up?" Joan asked when she heard Bella's cracked voice. 

"Yeah. I had a late night," Bella said with another yawn. Speaking of late nights, she looked at the empty space beside her when it suddenly occurred to her sleepy head that Nicole was no longer sleeping beside her on the bed. 

"Late night? You were both working?" Joan asked with a slight frown. 

"Not exactly. I'll just tell you all about it when you get here," Bella said as she stood up from the bed to stretch her body.

"I was going to ask, the hairpin I got you on my birthday, I couldn't find it amongst the other clothes..."
