Wedding Night Part 1

"Xia Mu Yi…"

"Who?" He asked confused.

That name was not coming up in his memory. He had never heard of that name. His brother only mentioned Xia Mu Ying last night. So who was this Xia Mu Yi. He wanted to scratch his head when he noticed she was still holding him.

"Can you let go of me first."

She let go of his wrist.

"Are you playing with me?" He stared at her. Surely she was pulling his leg. Was his wife a jokester like him?

"My dear husband."

Gosh, he hated when she spoke those three words. Shouldn't those three words sound sweet to the ears? Why did it make all the hair on his body stand.

"I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint your highness. Mu Ying is still at the academy. I could not bear to let my precious little sister marry you."

His jaw almost fell. Did she just insult him on their first meeting?

"What do you mean by that? What's wrong with me?" He huffed.

She ignored his question. "Can you at least lift this veil so I can talk in comfort first."

"Stupid Pei Nan. How could you think I'd like a woman like this." Gu Shao mumbled under his breath as he unwillingly lifted the veil. He had to admit she was pretty after that insult, who would have the time to admire a beauty.

But the first thing he did notice was how mesmerizing her almond shape eyes were.

He cleared his throat. "What do you mean you can't bear to let her marry me?"

She squinted and glared at him in disbelief. And then she suddenly smiled sweetly. Which terrified Gu Shao even more. Was she crazy?

"My sister is too kind and pure. She cannot handle a flirty wolf in sheep skin like you. Only someone like me can handle you."

Why was it that the more she spoke, the more she got under his skin?

"I am a changed man." He tilted his head up to counter her.

She crossed her arms. "Is that so? Is it really that easy to change one's personality? A wolf will always be a wolf."

Before she could speak another word, she felt a sudden rush of weight come towards her and before she knew it her back had hit the bed. She looked to her left and then her right. Gu Shao had grabbed both her shoulders and even dared to push her on the bed. He was now directly on top of her and their eyes met. "What are you doing?" She asked angrily.

A wicked smirk formed on his lips. "What do you think I'm doing?" His eyes traveled down to her neck and stopped. "Didn't you say a wolf will always be a wolf? I'm just playing the part of the wolf." His voice got low and rasping.

"Prince Gu Shao! Let go of me right now or you'll be sorry. If you dare lay a finger on me, I'll have my brother cut you to shreds." She threatened.

"Oh?" He tilted his head as if curious. "And who is your brother?"

"General Xia Jiang Yu." She spoke with confidence.

"Oh…you're Jiang Yu's sister!" He spoke as if something had finally clicked. "That would explain your hot temper. I should have known." He nodded his head. He slowly let go of her shoulders and she sighed a breath a relief. It didn't last more than a few seconds before he placed his palms on her shoulders again.

For some reason, seeing her angry made Gu Shao very satisfied. "So what if he's your brother. We are after all married. He can't interfere with this." He moved his head lower towards hers. He was only trying to scare her. He never expected she would headbutt him so hard that he felt his head would roll. The sudden hit made him almost lose his balance. He still had not recovered from the hit when he felt her palm hit his chest with quite a bit of force making him stumble down to the floor.

Now sitting on his butt holding his forehead, he looked at her with widened eyes. "You crazy woman! You know how to fight?"

She sneered arrogantly. "I come from 4 generations of generals. Of course I do."
