Pain Of The Night

Oliver stood still while his head did the calculations. He observed the man closely. Sure he had the body of a warrior or was it more of a beast but that didn't make him flinch or cower away. He still stood his ground despite the fact that he might lose.

"Python..!" The man that accepted the challenge yelled. "This man here wants to challenge you in order to free the witch that killed our beloved brother just after he sent us a signal," the man began "she did not only killed our brother but also killed our people mercilessly and now fate has brought her straight to us and you can't let her escape again, over our dead bodies would that happen!" He spat.

The man named Python growled loudly. His bloodshot eyes stared at Oliver coldly. Oliver looked at Isla whose hands were tied behind her. He could see the fear in her eyes as she looked at him with a worried expression. He gave her a comforting smile to reassure her that he got everything under control but Isla doubted that things would miraculously turn out in their favour, even though she was a missionary and the Pappas' daughter.

Amongst everything the man from earlier said, only one thing caught her ears and that was what he said about their beloved brother who died after giving them a signal. Could that be the man that dragged her to that alley? Was he dead? And if he was, why was his death pinned on her?.

Python charged towards Oliver without warning, swinging his hand for a punch but Oliver easily dodged it. The next blow came immediately and Oliver missed it to everyone's surprise.

Oliver bent backwards to avoid each blow. He swirled to the side however Pythons kneeled him on the stomach, making him cringed in pain. Python took the opportunity to hit his back, falling him to the ground with force.

Oliver groaned, holding into the ground before forcing himself up on his knees and hands. Python kicked him on the side and growled. Oliver fell back to the ground. He raised his leg up to hit Oliver's back but Oliver rolled over, missing the hit. He stood up instantly and stood at a distance away from Python. Python charged again towards him but Oliver slid through, passing between his legs effortlessly and kicked the back of his knee, bringing him down on one knee.

He kicked the other leg and brought him down on both knees. Oliver elbowed him on his head and that made the python fall to the ground. He placed himself on top of Python and punched him several times but it was as if the man was made of rock. Python grabbed Oliver's face and pressed his eyes with his thumbs. Oliver groaned in pain, he searched on the ground for something to use and his hand found a rock close to Python's head. He raised the rock and punched Python with it countless times.

The fight was so intense that everyone present could only watch eagerly to see who would win. Isla kept gasping each time her uncle received a hit, it was like she was the one receiving the pain.

Python rolled over and hit Oliver's head on the ground. He kept raining heavy blows on Oliver's face and the latter used his hands to shield his face. Python saw that most of the punches were missing Oliver's face so he punched him on the chest instead. Oliver's face twitched in pain, he dropped his hands and held his chest in pain. Python stood up and beat his chest while blood gushed out from his head. Oliver coughed dryly with blood dripping from his face and mouth. Python touched his head and looked at his hand only to see blood on it. He looked surprised for a while until his eyes started searching around and they landed on a huge rock sitting at a corner. He rushed to it and lifted it with a grunt.

Isla gasped and screamed her uncle's name, her eyes filled with tears as she saw python walking back to her uncle with the rock in his hands. He lifted the rock in the air ready to land it on Oliver's stomach.

Oliver was still struggling with the pain when he looked up and saw the shadow of something large above him. Just when the rock was about to hit him, someone stabbed Python's leg.

Python dropped the rock instantly and looked at the back of his leg where a dagger was pierced through. He pulled the dagger out and stared at it then his eyes moved to look at the person in front of him.

"Logan!" Isla said in a loud whisper. "Logan help! Please help uncle!" She started screaming but the man behind her covered her mouth with his large hand.

Logan wondered what was going on. He was just inside when the girl they saved came to inform him about what was happening. He didn't spare a moment to tell the twins and came here immediately only to witness this horrific scene. He looked at the beast in front of him. Yes, that was how he viewed Python.

He turned to Oliver and helped him up as they stood in front of Python. Now it was two against one, though that didn't solve the matter as Python fought hard and knocked Oliver down when he got distracted by Isla's scream.

Logan kicked python's leg several times until the man dropped down on his knees again. This gave Oliver the chance to circle his hand around his neck from behind. His hand was wrapped around python's neck while his other hand held the hand around his neck. Logan kicked python's face repeatedly. Python grabbed his leg when he wanted to land another kick. He held Oliver's hand and elbowed him on the stomach. Oliver grips set loose, giving python the time to stand up. Python grasped Oliver's neck and lifted him up in the air, straggling him. He marched Logan on his chest and pressed his leg on it. Logan felt suffocated and he struggled to remove python's leg.

Isla was already crying as she struggled to free herself and run to save them.

Python removed his leg after a while and threw Oliver to the ground. Logan stood up, coughing painfully but before he could even move his leg forward, a dagger was stabbed on his chest. Python grabbed him and threw him against a tree at a far distance. Logan's body banged against the tree with a flump and he passed out immediately.

Isla fell on her knees as controllable tears kept falling down her cheeks. Oliver lifted his gaze to look at her. His heartache as he watched her cry loudly. He closed his eyes and opened them in order to find his strength and when he did, he tried to get back on his feet.

"You lose already so give up!" The man yelled and walked towards him. "She must be killed by dawn and it's almost dawn," the man said, looking at the sky.

Oliver looked up and saw the dark blue sky. A smile crawled it's way to his lips. The slightly bright sky gave him hope because he knew only day could take away the pain of the night.
