A Savior

Ava was going to where they were about to set off.

Her sister was already there now waiting for her arrival.

"What took you so long?" Amelia asked with a slight frown on her face.

"Nothing much, I just wanted to see if everything was complete"

Amelia lowered her voice "What about father?"

"He looks happy with the fact that we are leaving him alone as he had always wished for," Ava said, rolling her eyes.

"What are we waiting for? We should be leaving by now" Amelia told Logan who she had been trying to avoid.

She was still hurt by his uncaring attitude.

"Nothing actually, we will be going any moment soon since we have gotten all the farewells from everyone, so we should leave then." He replied to her.

Isla was quiet, she knew Amelia never liked her. It was obvious from day one.

Isla looked back to say her goodbye for now to the place she had never left since when she was young till now.

"Devon" she gasped in shock when she saw him coming from afar.

The aura around him was frightening. His hair was moving with the wind.

He walked elegantly as usual towards them.

Amelia and Ava were lost in the unbelievable handsomeness that they were seeing.

His eyes, lips, skin and his hair were well imprinted on their minds.

Ava placed her hands on her pounding heart.

Oh no! Please let it not be. She had never fallen for anyone before and she wanted it that way. Her parents' love life gave her a glimpse of the bittersweet experience.

Her sister was currently facing the same outcome of love. She wanted it to be like this for her. No love life, nothing. She will get married but not for love, maybe something else but definitely not love.

She made sure to make her heart numb so there will be no space for a feeling called love.

However, why was her heartbeat increasing with every step he took?.

He was breathtakingly gorgeous, her eyes were stuck on him.

The man in question was paying no attention to their gaze. Only one person managed to catch his attention and that was none other than Logan who gave him a bemused look. He could tell from the slight frown that he was displeased with his appearance, though Logan's eyes also shone with fascination.

Logan couldn't believe what he was seeing. The man was captivating but how come he was coming towards them.

Devon stood right in front of them with a raised chin.

His cold look was frightening and spellbinding.

"Why are you here?" Logan asked the question the others were too occupied to do.

"He will be coming along" They turned to see her father with Oliver coming their way.

"Father? What's going on?" Isla had a frown.

Her father looked at them for a while before he spoke.

"Oliver will be coming along and so will Devon" he said with finality.

"Uncle just got back" The stubborn Isla searched for answers even still.

"Well so did Logan and he is going back so I pray for you all safety. Amen" he said and walked back, leaving them there.

"Hmm. So are we all set?" Oliver inquired, looking around.

Isla's eyes were stuck on her father's retreating back. She puffed an air and turned to her uncle.

Something was fishy between his sudden plans to follow them and she also noticed that he was hiding something from her but clearly not from her father.

They walked together. Isla couldn't believe that she was leaving the church premises for the first time.

She had previously left the church premises but only to go to the market.

They walked for hours until they stopped in the deep of the woods.

"We should rest here. It's on the map that the next village close to where we are is fifteen miles away. However it's too dark to continue so let's call it a day," Oliver said.

They arranged their things and set blankets on the floor for them to sleep.

"Why don't we have a tent at least?" Amelia whispered to Ava as they lay together.

"I know, right?" Ava hated the idea of sleeping on the rocky ground, all thanks to her father.

Yet she was somehow thankful to him as well as she stared at Devon who sat near a tree and rested his back against it.

'Won't his back ache?' She thought.

"Hey, let's just sleep and try to avoid the uncomfortableness" Amelia drew her attention.

"Hmm" she said with her eyes still locked on Devon.

"Who are you looking at?" Amelia asked but paused when she followed Ava's gaze and realized she was staring at the unearthly beauty.

"Oh my God, that man is perfect," she murmured with a dreamy look. She looked hypnotized.

Ava got annoyed for some odd reason though she shook the feeling away.

"Hmm. He is indeed exquisite. Now let's go to sleep" she said to stop her sister from staring.

She pretended to have fallen asleep. She waited to hear her sister's heavy breathing before looking back to where he sat but strangely he wasn't there.

'Where did he go?' she asked inwardly.

Isla was unable to sleep so she decided to just take a walk around the place. She had no intention of going too far.

She stood on the higher ground. She looked beneath her and saw the low ground. It would definitely kill once a person accidentally falls from here.

She took in the breath as the cold wind came gushing towards her.

Isla stood there for a while before attempting to go back to the rest.

Just a step away, she stepped on a stone and twisted her ankle, she staggered as pain shot on her leg like a burning rod piercing through her skin.

She couldn't keep her balance and tripped, falling backwards to the ground. She rolled but immediately held onto the edge of the high ground to keep herself from falling down the sloppy ground.

Isla was struggling to keep herself up and she tried screaming for help as her hands started getting numb from trying to keep her whole weight on them in order to lift herself up.

Oh God please. She was begging for a savior.

"Uncle!"

God please I promise to give myself to anybody who will save me.. please.

"Logan!"

She started losing her grips and her hands finally slipped.

Isla gasped as she felt herself falling and she closed her eyes while waiting for death.
