Chapter 1
It was finally the day of the all schools 6 week summer training camp.
Which Daichi was in two minds about.
1: It was his final training camp before university which he was a little upset about.
2: He was excited to be around his team and develop their skills for without him next year.
3: He was excited to try his hardest and prove that he is an amazing captain, you know, because there may also be scouts there.
But the big thing he was worried about was 4.
He'd recently had a sexual awakening.
Now. Usually. This would happen at a younger age, not at the prime age of 18, turning 19.
And usually a sexual awakening would be easier to cope with for a guy.
It usually goes the way. Ooo, that guy or girl is hot, as they then would privately get off by jerking off.
But his was very different.
It wasn't the way he assumed it was. It was very different.
To give an example, he'd watch his team and other teams and think things he really shouldn't.
Which okay. You could have a crush on people or think people were hot.
But he liked them all. And not only that, the awakening still wasn't the same.
Regular guys would look at, take Ushijima for example, and think, oh he's hot, proceed to jerk off over something they couldn't have.
Whereas Daichi's thought process started with, fuck, it would feel so good to be spanked with Ushijima's spiking hand, before then clenching his ass and coming untouched.
And from these thoughts and his sexual awakening there was only one thing left in Daichi's mind about this training camp.
A training camp, under limited watchful eyes of teachers or coaches for the most part.
A training camp full of hot guys.

And it also didn't help that Daichi was built like a hot top. Like a heartthrob of a man.
Which to Daichi's revelation was not good, because he was a captain, and captains have banter with everyone, and for all of his time, he'd answered with another bit of banter.
But now, he knew he would be brought to nothing with a few words of what used to be banter. He knew he'd be easy to read, he knew they'd catch on quick, and from then on, he'd be screwed, he'd be a lesser person, a lesser captain, he wouldn't be taken seriously, and worst of all, they might not even be gay as well, which would mean Daichi could lose everyone.
So yeah. He was in two minds about this trip. He was not looking forward to it at all.

Daichi carried his bags to the school parking lot where their coach had told them the bus would arrive. And from the looks of things, he was the first one there.
He let out a sigh of relief as he placed his bags by his feet and took a deep breath.
Everything will be alright. I'm sure everything will be alright. He told himself in his head.
Ah fuck it who am I kidding?! Nothing will be-
"Hey Dai!" A voice pulled Daichi out of his head as he looked over to see his best friend, and setter, Sugawara Koushi walking over with a large smile on his face.
"You excited for the training camp my hot captain?" Sugawara asks with a playful smile and Daichi could feel his cheeks physically heat up.
He looked down and bent onto one knee, 'fixing his shoelace' which didn't need fixing and hummed, all to cover up his face.
He rose when he felt it cool down and nodded.
"You know it Suga. It's our final one. So I'm gonna do my best to make it last." He replies and Sugawara tilts his head from the movements before.
Daichi was still acting weird.
Sugawara had put Daichi's last few weeks of weirdness to the training camp but, it's the day of the training camp and he's still acting weird. It just didn't make sense.
He hasn't replied to any of the teams banter, well as Daichi put it, they preferred it that way, helped to keep the fact that they were flirting stay hidden, but he hadn't replied at all these past few weeks.
Nishinoya and tanaka came running over.
"Hey! Our heartthrob hot captain and our pretty silver haired setter!" Nishinoya shouted as he bounced over.
Sugawara chuckled whereas Daichi could feel the heat in his cheeks rising again.
He didn't feel like a heartthrob hot captain. For these past few weeks, he wasn't really enjoying being called names like that.
He assumed it was probably due to his findings about himself but he wanted to be called pretty like they called Suga. He wanted to be called cute like they called Hinata and kageyama. He didn't want to be the hot heartthrob captain.
Sugawara noticed the visible face changes in Daichi as he looked down pretending to do something but truly being lost in his thoughts.
Suga had really been wondering about him recently.
Sugawara just smiled. "Well if it isn't our speedy libero and our protective dog tanaka." Sugawara says and the two chuckle at the banter back.
Daichi still lost in thought didn't know the others had been watching him while it was now silent.
"You figured out what's up with him yet Suga?" Noya asks in a whisper but Suga shakes his head.
"I have no idea. But I'm still trying to figure it out. And I will. And when I do. You'll all know." Suga says and Noya and tanaka nod.
"Got it." They reply.
Soon enough the team had all arrived and so had the bus.
The coach filed them onto the bus and Sugawara and Daichi sat together as always. Sugawara still trying to understands the other actions and reactions.
Daichi was sat there scrolling through his phone but still in deep thought.
Why wasn't he pretty? Why wasn't he cute? Why did he have to be hot and a heartthrob and everything else?
Within his thoughts Daichi just couldn't stop, it was getting so bad that he had to know. So he snapped himself away from his thoughts and looked at suga.
"Hey Suga." He asks quietly and Sugawara looks at and hums as if to say 'continue'
"Why am I not pretty too?" Daichi asks and Koushi looks at him gobsmacked.
Holy shit. Was this what Daichi had been down about these past few weeks?!
Sugawara had to regain his composure.
"What do you mean Dai?" He asks quietly and Daichi looks into Suga's eyes.
"Why can't I be pretty like you.. or cute like Hinata and kageyama.. or or adorable, or sweet, or beautiful..?" He asks, his whole demeanour feeling upset.
"Why am I what I don't want to be.. why do people call me hot, or a heartthrob or good-looking or any of those things.. when I don't want to be those things?" He asks before looking down.
He couldn't believe he'd just asked Suga all that. And he couldn't take it back either.
Koushi thought for a moment. "Hey Dai. Look at me." He says but daichi shakes his head.
Sugawara lets out a small growl and takes Daichi's chin, forcing him to look the other in the eyes.
"You are, and always will be, however you think you are. However you feel. All you need to do is express how you feel and let others know and they see it too. Okay? I know it took a lot telling that to me ca-" Koushi stops himself.
"Little one. But if you want to be pretty, or cute. Just say." Suga says and leans in towards Daichi's ear.
"You look very pretty today and seem absolutely adorable baby." Sugawara says lowly into Daichi's ear.
Daichi from the kind words, felt calm inside, and from that, well, he was now the colour of a tomato.
Hearing Sugawara say that, did things to him, it made him feel the way he's been wishing for weeks. It made him feel like his true self.
Sugawara caught on and smiled.
He then let go of Daichi's chin but stayed by his ear. "Such a pretty brave boy for telling me sweetie. Now. I'm sure you feel better after letting that out so take a rest before the camp, okay honey?" Sugawara speaks gently and Daichi blushes and just nods, curling up and laying against the window, closing his eyes and finally feeling a slither of comfort.
Once Koushi saw Daichi had closed his eyes he grabbed his phone and immediately entered the group chat.
