Chapter 8 – Tell me, are you pregnant?

Earlier on, Robin was sitting in the doctor's office with Zayla. This was their first antenatal check and Robin was quite excited about it.

"Please lay on the bed, Miss Chance. I will take a scan whiles we wait for the test results of the pregnancy test," the doctor said but Zayla did not move an inch, looking disturbed.

"Zayla, the doctor is talking to you," Robin nudged her, his gaze soft.

"Ehmmm, sorry, what did he say?" Zayla forced a smile and asked. Robin repeated softly,

"The scan, Zayla, I thought you'd be as excited as I am."

"Yes, the scan," Zayla said slowly to herself before rising to her feet. At the same time, Robin's phone began to ring. He wanted to ignore it but it was coming from his secretary so he said,

"I'll take this call and be right back."
