The Waiter

I sigh "You know she's right honey not everyone will treat you differently" I nod smiling knowing she war right "I know mom I love you" She smiled "I love you too sweetheart" Toby pouts when he hears us go back and forth saying I love you to each other leaving him out of the whole affair "What about me?" Toby says hugging mom's side. Mom laughs patting his hair softly as she does with us "I love you too buddy" she says smiling at both of us. "Mommy I need to use the bathroom" Kate says both Miranda and her walks to the bathroom. "So that waiter is pretty cute huh?" Aunt Glinda says looking at me I fluster up because he is cute but he was just staring at me like people do when their on drugs. I shake my head "He Is cute but he was just staring at me like I was a piece of meat or something" I shiver Aunt Glinda stares at me shaking her head. "He was interested that's why he was staring at you" Aunt Glinda said Mom Interrupts her "Leave her alone if she doesn't like him then she doesn't like him besides she's carrying my first grand baby" Auntie shrugs and she let the topic go without another word. I looked at my mom and mouthed "Thank you" Miranda and her daughter Kate came shortly after and sits back down next to us. "So what I miss?" Miranda asked my mother immediately shakes her head at her and she turns to Aunt Glinda. "I was just asking if Winter likes the waiter that's serving us" Aunt Glinda replies answering Miranda's question.

Miranda's eyes go wide "She's pregnant she doesn't need a man right now" she says and unfortunately the waiter heard what she said. Aunt Glinda seems to see him approach the table as well therefore she stopped whatever she was going to say to Miranda. Oh please tell me he didn't hear anything they were talking about, but his facial expression said it all he sighed and acted like I was not worth it anymore. He quietly gave us our food that was on trays when he was done placing our food down in front of us he asked "Will that be all today ladies?" while staring out the window in front of him. My mom nodded "Yes that will be all for now" he nodded and took the empty trays away that once had our food on it and walked into the kitchen. That's when Aunt Glinda strikes "Miranda this is my niece and I will not have you disrespecting her like you just did." Miranda stared at me and back at my aunt and nodded "I understand and I apologize for overstepping my boundaries." Aunt Glinda nodded "Good we can eat now" my mom stared at Auntie chewing on her food sticking her thumb up. I smiled and started to eat my food that was placed in front of me Miranda on the other hand was carefully taking bites of her dinner.

When everybody finished eating we all got up mom left a tip for the waiter because she said and I quote "He didn't have to put up with two grown woman arguing over my daughter's choices." I smiled "Okay everyone ready to go?" Everyone besides me nodded their head "I gotta go use the bathroom I'll be right back" I say walking to the ladies room. Once I got In there was a woman trying to escape through the window "Um are you sure that's safe?" I asked and she bumped her head "Ouch" now I feel bad for interrupting her "Are you okay mam?" she nods "Yeah I'm fine" I walk closer to her to see her face "So what are you escaping from?" she rubbed her head "An awkward date" I smile "Been there done that" she chuckled "How old are you?" I shrugged "Seventeen" she walked closer to the sinks "Your a bit too young to know what I'm talking about" I smile and walk towards her till I'm right beside her "Yeah but apparently I'm not too young to get pregnant." she looked at me tilting her head a bit "Your pregnant" she asked I nodded "Long story" she smiled "I've got time" I chuckled "Okay I'm gonna use the bathroom" I say walking into an non occupied stall shutting and locking the door, I quickly pull down my pants and use the bathroom.

"So If you don't mind me asking what happened?" I sighed "I was out partying one night got drunk and the rest is history." She lets out a low whistle "That's tough are you keeping it?" she asks "Yeah I'm keeping It" she knocks on the stall "You are one tough girl" I chuckle "Yeah but now I'm moving to Oklahoma so..." footsteps are made walking towards the sink which I'm assuming is her's I wiped myself and pulled up my pants zipping It up. I unlock the stall and sure enough she's standing by the sinks, I walk up to the sink and wash my hands. "So what's your name?" she asks as soon as I'm done drying my hands. "Winter." I say and she nods smiling "That's a beautiful name" I sigh softly "Whats yours?" she smiles at me and fogs up the window and writes "Christina was here" I laugh "Well I've gotta go back to my family now It was nice meeting you." I say turning around and almost making It to the door until she says "Wait" I turn and she pulls out her phone and I laugh taking It and adding my number as "Bathroom Acquaintance" I hand her back her phone after saving it and taking a picture of myself. She laughs "Nice name" I chuckled "Bathroom friends for life" I say which makes us both laugh. "Okay now I really have to go." she nods "See you around." she says and I wave waking out the door.

I walk outside and Into the car "What took you so long?" I buckled up and smiled "Met a new friend." I reply and mom nods and takes off back to Aunt Glinda's house. I pull out my phone and read the time "It's 8:15 Ma" She looked at me briefly and focused back onto the road "Wow Okay so I guess we're just dropping My sister and her friends off and heading back home to sleep, We're gonna need a lot of energy." Mom said with her serious face on. It took us about twenty to thirty minutes just to get back to Aunties house Mom parked In the driveway. "Okay Bye love you guys thanks for dinner" Aunt Glinda said taking off her seat belt and getting out of the car. Miranda and Kate both said "Thank you for dinner and inviting us." and did the same as Auntie did before them. Once everyone besides Mom, Toby, and me were out of the car we waved at them and mom took off to go back home. "So What did you think of Miranda and Kate?" Mom asked once we were a bit away from Aunt Glinda's house. I shrugged "They were alright." Toby nodded with me meaning he agreed to what I said. "So What time are you waking up at?" I hummed "I was thinking like six or seven in the morning why?" she smiles "The moving company Is taking our belongings to the new house tomorrow."
