Midori's eyes snapped open, jolting awake as if from a dream. She shoved against Kiyoshi's chest, a sudden burst of defiance against the lingering heat of his kiss. Startled by the unexpected break, Kiyoshi stumbled a step backward.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Midori quickly replied. The traces of heat that emanated from the kiss still lingered on her lips, making it difficult for her to make up her mind.
"You do like me," Kiyoshi announced with a victorious smirk on his face. "I knew it."
"I don't. I am just helpless against you," Midori snapped, only to curse at herself right after.
