27 Chapter 27: Internship Part 4

After the eventful day which took place yesterday (Today is Friday), Ren woke up groggily as he headed downstairs in his half-asleep state.
"Mmm..." He groaned as he entered the kitchen before turning the lights on as he saw the lights were off, "Ugh..." He scoffed as he covered his eyes from the brightness.
"Ah, you're awake!" For some reason, Rumi sat in the kitchen in the dark as she saw Ren's sleepy state, "My~ What a nice body..." She complimented with a smug expression as she looked Ren's body up and down.
"Hm?" After rubbing his eyes profusely, Ren's eyes fully opened to see Rumi wearing a pair of purple shorts with a black sports bra as she sat on the chair with her right leg crossed over her left, "Oh, mornin-"
He cut himself off as he felt himself get a little colder before he looked down at himself and realised he was only wearing boxers. And to make matters worse... He had a morning wood.
"Uh..." He hurriedly covered the tent with his hands with a flushed face before looking at Rumi's face to see her smirk widen, "You've got a nice, 'healthy' body, don't ya?" She joked with a wink after she caught an 'accidental' glimpse of Ren's not-so-little brother when checking out his body.
"I'll be back!" Ren shouted as he ran back up the stairs in embarrassment, entering his room and changing into grey joggers with a white compressed shirt before heading back down into the kitchen to see Rumi sipping some coffee, "I'm back!".
"I can see that, dumbass" Rumi replied as she finished drinking her coffee and walked over to the sink where she put her mug, "We've only got 2 days left together, so we'll be using that time to fight as much as we can, understood?" She asked with a sadistic smile on her face.
"Fine by me!" Ren replied, "But first..."
"Let's eat!" Rumi and Ren said simultaneously, breaking into a short laughter before Ren cooked up some breakfast with the assistance of Rumi.
After eating their food, the two spent most of the day sparring with only an hour or two spent on hero duty.
Overall, Friday went by quite quick with the day now being Saturday.
"Oi oi oi!" Ren heard Rumi call out to him from the couch whilst he was making their usual breakfast.
"What's up?!" He shouted back as he flipped the pancake on the pan.
"Oi!"
"WHAT?!" Ren shouted back, getting a little triggered.
"Oi-"
"FOR FUCKS SAKE! I'm coming!" Fed up, Ren hurriedly appeared in front of Rumi, "What!?" He asked with his voice raised.
"Jeez, no need to be so loud!" Rumi refuted as she sent a kick towards Ren's legs, to which he stopped with infinity, "Tch! Anyway, sit down already" She ordered whilst patting the space beside her.
"Hurry up, what is it?" He asked as he sat down beside her and looked at her phone to see she was on a news site.
"The Hero Killer: Stain got caught by Endeavor, UGH!" Rumi cried as she threw her phone across the room, but was thankfully saved by Ren's telekinesis, "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME, NOT HIM!" She shouted as she fell on to the floor and hit it with her fist.
'This looks awfully familiar' Ren thought with an awkward chuckle remembering a certain Yu-Gi-Oh meme.
"Is that all? I need to get back to cooking breakfast" He asked as he walked past Rumi's temper tantrum to head back to the kitchen.
"Yeah, that's all..." She replied with a sniffle, "I wanted to be the one to fight him, man..." She cried some more.
'Jesus, do all top 10 heroes have some kind of problem with them?' Ren wondered as he carried on making breakfast, having to throw away the pancake he had on the pan due to it burning a little.
With Rumi's sobbing eventually ending and Ren finishing his cooking, the two ate their breakfast and proceeded to face-off once more.
"So, it looks like this is the final spar, ay?" Rumi snickered with a soft smile as she looked at Ren standing opposite her for god-knows how many times now.
"Guess so" Ren chuckled in response.
Saturday, aka today, was the last day of the Internship with the students having to return home today which allowed them to have a rest day tomorrow/Sunday before returning to school on Money.
"Let's make this one count, shall we?" Rumi smirked as she entered her fighting stance, "Oh, and just to let you know, I'll be fighting you a little more seriously compared to all the previous times this week" She stated.
"Thanks for the 'handicap', means a lot" Ren rolled his eyes in sarcasm before entering his own fighting stance, "Any rules?" He asked before they began.
"Straight hands, no powers, anything goes other than that" Rumi answered before adding, "How about we make this a little more interesting? After all, it's our final spar before you go away"
"How so?" He wondered.
"Loser has to do any one thing the winner asks for" Rumi suggested, to which Ren nodded, "Fine by me"
"Let's dance!" The two exclaimed as they began their fight.
Rumi began by leaping up high as she went for an all-too-familiar axe kick, "Haah!"
Ren side-stepped to the left of the kick, causing Rumi to land beside him cleanly before she went for a spinning hook kick towards his head.
"Hooph!" Ren exhaled as he ducked the kick and spun around to go for a sweep towards her leg to try and knock her off balance.
Unfortunately, he didn't seem to get enough momentum as his leg hit hers but only because she allowed it to happen as she stood in place with a smirk on her face, "Heh" She snickered before delivering another axe kick to Ren who jumped back with a flip.
The two then stared at each other for a few seconds as they were waiting for the other to make the first move.
Impatient, Rumi made the first move as she dashed in front of Ren and went for a quick punch to his face.
He dodged and had already anticipated it being a feint as he stepped back and dodged a kick from her which came from the side, "Nice try" He remarked as Rumi pulled her leg back in place.
'Maybe I should try THAT...' Ren thought as he observed Rumi's well guarded figure.
With a quick first step, he appeared in front of Rumi who had an excited smile on her face at the fun spar.
He went for a roundhouse kick to Rumi's head to which she dodged by moving her head. He gambled on her dodging to the right, to which she did as she was surprise to see his foot approaching the side of her head.
'The roundhouse was a feint!' She realised a little too late as his fast kick hit the side of her head, causing her brain to rattle a little as it went the other direction, 'Shit!-' With her brain being rattled, she was unable to dodge another kick which went for the other side of her head as it hit her.
The two kicks caused her head to shake a little as she felt her consciousness waver for a second.
"I win!" Ren declared as he went for the third and final kick of the combo, a 3-step kick which Mori and Taejin called [3rd Stance Hwechook].
What he hadn't expected was him to lose a little balance during the third kick, causing him to miss his target of Rumi by mere centimetres, "Ah shit" He muttered as he knew Rumi would use this opportunity - after having her body and brain stabilised - to deliver her own fatal kick to Ren.
"Luna..." Rumi spoke with some anger in her tone as she jumped up slightly and wrapped her legs around Ren's neck, "TIJERAS!" She shouted as twisted her body and falling backwards before flipping to make Ren hit the ground... HARD (Like the WWE move)
"GAH!" Ren cried out at the pain, Rumi still having her legs wrapped around his neck as she looked down at him with a smug look, "You give up?" She asked as she squeezed her legs tighter which caused him to tap out.
"Yes yes yes, I give up!" He shouted as he tapped profusely, making Rumi release her grip as she stood up and looked down at Ren who was gasping for air and twitching in pain, "Haah... haah... I didn't know... we were using named moves!" He cried, trying to ignore the pain.
"Sorry, I went a little too hard there" Rumi muttered as she felt guilty watching Ren's pained body.
"You think...? That shit hurt!" He said as he slowly pushed himself off of the floor, "Owowow..." He winced as he felt his whole body hurt and shake.
"Here, lemme help" Rumi said as she looped Ren's left arm around her neck and lifted him up, "To the couch?"
"Yes please" He replied, walking over to the couch with Rumi's assistance as he sat down on the couch, "You think you can get me an ice pack, please?" He asked as he rubbed his neck.
"Yeah, sure, hold up" Rumi dashed over to the freezer and took out an ice pack, throwing it at Ren, "Catch!" She called out.
He held his arm up and caught the ice packet, putting it on his neck, "Ahh..." He moaned quietly, "I already feel better... kinda" He joked with a fake laughter before coughing, "Ow"
"Uh... sorry?" Rumi said awkwardly as she sat beside Ren with an embarrassed face, something that was rare to see.
"It's fine..." He sighed before taking the ice pack away from his neck and placing it on his back, "It was partially my fault as well, since I was the first to use a dangerous move" He said.
"It's alright, let's just say it's nobody's fault and move on in life!" Rumi suggested as she pat his shoulder with a laugh.
"Hell no, it was definitely still mostly your fault" Ren spat with spite in his voice.
"..." Rumi glared at him for a few seconds before wrapping her arms around his neck and putting him in a chokehold, "Care to say that again...?" She said menacingly as her face darkened with a creepy smile.
"Ah-Ahaha, I-it's no one's fault!" Ren chuckled in fright as sweat dripped down his face, causing Rumi to let go of his neck before laughing once more, "Hahaha, I was just joking!"
After about 20 minutes of recovering, Ren stood up and stretched a little. The pain was mostly again, though his neck and back would sometimes hurt a little every few seconds.
The two remained seating on Rumi's couch as Ren turned his body to face Rumi, "So, what do you want me to do?" He asked, causing Rumi to tilt her head in confusion, "Y'know? The bet? Loser doin' whatever the winner says?" He carried on before Rumi hit her palm in realisation.
"Ahh! Right!" She exclaimed as she put her hand out, "Phone!" She ordered.
"Uh... okay?" Ren muttered in confusion as he took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to Rumi after unlocking it.
After a few seconds of tapping, Rumi handed his phone back to him.
"Hm?" Ren looked down at his phone to see Rumi had added her contact info to his contacts, with her saved name being [Rumi] with a red heart emoji, devil emoji, and then a carrot and bunny emoji.
"Oh, is that it-?" He looked back up and was interrupted by Rumi's face being super close to his as she moved her head to the side and kissed his cheek, "Eh?" He opened his mouth, stunned.
"There ya go, now we both got a reward!" Rumi said as she rubbed the top of his head with a chuckle, "Awww, is someone getting shy? How cute~" She teased as Ren's face turned red from embarrassment, "Hahaha! Come on, it's time for you to go" Rumi announced as she stood up and pulled him up with her, "Go pack your things, and shoo!" She said, kicking his ass which pushed him forward a few metres as he went upstairs to his room and packed the things he had.
After finishing packing up, Ren walked downstairs to see Rumi at the door.
"Come on, I'll take you to the station, free of charge" She joked as Ren walked past her and they headed to the station together.
When arriving at the station, Rumi and Ren bid each other farewell before he departed by taking a bullet train back to Musutafu where he headed back to his flat.
To recover fully, Ren decided to mute all his notifications as soon as he got home before jumping into his bed without even changing and falling asleep after a few minutes of closing his eyes.
