"Dad, why is it necessary?"

"Sweetheart, you're young now. It's the best age to get married."

"Can't you listen to your dad for once?!"

"Understand sweetheart, me and your mother are worried for you. And the boy is rich, owns a big company. He's quite known in the business world. His father is a friend of mine"

I let out a sigh. What had I agreed to? Marrying a total stranger? No, please god let it be a dream. But it isn't. I brought my wrist near and checked the time. All the thoughts flew out as I realized I was very late.

I got into my car and drove to my office. I work in a huge company, DIOSA (meaning Goddess in Spanish), my post is the assistant of the owner. I started this job just few months back. The company is known to almost everyone in the business world. My salary is quite good.

It's not like we lack money. My dad owns a quite famous company too. But I wanted to stand on my will.

I reached the office in another few minutes. I hurried to the canteen and made a strong coffee for my boss, MR. XAVIER EVANS.

I hurried to his office, and saw his face hidden behind the computer screen as usual. His hands on the keyboard. He went on typing without noticing.

He looked sexy even though his face was hidden behind the screen. Though I have never seen him smile, or show any emotions, he looks like a walking god.

My office bell rung. I knew who this was.

"You're late, Miss. Harper."

"I...I'm sorry, sir"

"You know I need my coffee exactly at 7 am, it's 7:5 now"

"I'm so sorry, sir, this won't happen again"

"Better not"

She came near and placed the coffee on my table. I drank it real quick. She got the post of my assistant when my previous one retired. She is quite good, never late to work, maintains my schedule. But today she was late.

"Read out today's schedule" I ordered her.

"Yes sir. You have a meeting with the colleagues at 7:15 am for their ideas about the new clothing designs, then at 7:40 am you have an video call with..."

"With?"

"With Mr. Evans"

"With dad? Why did he have to call me when I'm busy" I said half to myself.

"Sir may I continue?"

"Yes"

"At 8 you're to go to meet Mr. James for discussing the marketing. Then you're free for another 2 hours. Then at 10 you're to check on the employees work. You're to have lunch exactly at 11, it was specially requested by your mother."

"Oh god..." I said to myself, but I was sure Miss. Harper heard it and smiled. I really liked it when she smiled.

"At 1, you're having a meet with the designing department. Sir that's it"

"Okay, you may go. And please prepare the files I told you to"

"Yes sir"

"Miss. Harper?"

"Yes sir?"

"It will be appreciated if aren't late again"

"Yes sir."

She exited my room. She sat just beside my office, I could see her seat from my table. She actually works very hard. It's just been few months but I'm already used to her. I heard her dad owns a company too of some B. corp, I don't know.

At 7:15, I went out and Anastasia followed me with the necessary files.

The meeting was quite time taking but ended on time. At 7:40 I called my dad.

"Hi son!"

"Hello dad"

"You know your grandmas condition right?" his voice was sad.

I grew seious.

"Yes dad,..."

"Son, she wants to see you get married before she dies"

"She is not gonna die dad. She's gonna be okay!"

"I also want to believe you ,son, but the truth is the same"

"Dad..."

"She wants to see her beloved grandson marry to a girl and settle down happily"

"If that's what Gigi wants then okay, find a girl"

"Already did, she's beautiful and good, her father is a friend of mine. And she has also agreed. Your Gigi also approved that girl."
