Ezra hugs his mother tightly but groans out in pain when his injured hand gets in the way. "Be careful." His mother says but he just ignores and keeps on giving her a hug.

Pouring in his feelings.
Ezra watched his mother walking away. He sighs in sadness but remains confused too. His mother is still very much in love with his father. The man who prioritises his work and depraved lifestyle over his own family.
He doesn't just believe blindly that Scarlett is nothing like his father but also knows what she has gone through. If only his mother could know about it. "This isn't my story to tell. Or else I could have told her. But telling her about Scarlett without her permission isn't something I should do. Mom, soon… soon you will know why she's so special to me."
Ezra went to open the door when suddenly the doctor assigned to Scarlett appeared. "Mr. Knight, can we have a word together?"
