Gyarados Is Shocked (Get The Pun?? No? I'll Let Myself Out Now))

"Oh so thats what happened, now I get it," Misty said, her confusion being cleared up slightly. "Now I have another question.....how in the hell are you able to understand him?"

It had been about five minutes since evryone had shown up and, after Vex managed to calm everyone down, they all now sat in a semicircle around the part where Gyarados was. The only ones who didn't seem that confused where the Pokemon themselves, as they talked to each other while Vex explained the situation to Misty and Beatrice.

"Well, now thats a hard thing to explain as I dont really know yet, but I do have a few theories in mind." Vex ran his fingers along Pikachu's tail as he spoke, which apparently made Pikachu very happy. "It may or may not have something to do with the lightning that brought me to this world."

"There we go with the 'From a different world' stuff again," Misty complained as she crossed her arms angrily. "When are you gonna finally admit that your from this world and your just pretending to be from somewhere else."

"Pikachu, thunderbolt, but keep it as low as possible." Vex instructed, becoming a bit irritated with her constant complaining. Pikachu's cheeks sparked once before unleashing a bright yellow electrical light that surrounded Misty. It lasted a full ten seconds before it stopped and she fell over as if having been tazed, which in a way she had been.

"I trust that you dont have any complaints miss narcissist?" Vex asked as he turned his head to look at Beatrice who looked a bit scared. She was the ine who was sitting closest to Gyarados and, though it wasn't even looking at her, she looked on the verge of tears. "Well never mind, I see your already scared enough."

"Scared? Me? Thats a riot!!" Beatrice exclaimed, putting on an act as soon as she was called out. Her face transformed into one of anger and superiority, but it was easily seen through. "I'm doing just fine, these ugly creatures don't bother me!!"

"Growlithe, use tackle," Vex said and pointing a finger at Beatrice. Growlithe, without even so much as hesitating, ran straight at Beatrice and knocked her over, pushing her onto the ground.

"So Gyarados, how about that battle then?" Vex asked as he stood up, ignoring the two girls who were flat on their backs. Pikachu and Growlithe ran over to stand on either side of him. "If we win then you come with us, thats the deal right?"

Gyarados lifted its head up and down in sonething that was akin to a nod. "That is the plan, to show me the latent potential that I sensed in you. Show me that you have what it takes to rise to the top of other Pokemon trainers!!"

"Alrighty then," Vex said as he took a stance, ready to go. "This will be out first battle together guys so lets give it our all. Make sure to bring your A-game."

"Well we don't really have anything to lose," Pikachu said as it readied itself. "We got this one in the bag Vex."

"I'll follow your lead Master," Growlithe said as it also prepared for battle. "Lead us to a swift victory."

"Alright then lets go," Vex exclaimed as he took a step back. "Pikachu, use thunderbolt on the Gyarados and Growlithe use ember."

Pikachu began to run forward, charging up its attack for maximum effect while Growilithe ran a bit further behind also preparing its attack. However, Gyarados didnt just wait around, it raised its tail from the water and swiped it at the two Pokemon.

"Pikachu, jump up and Growlithe switch to bite," Vex yelled as he also ran forward, planning to participate. Since it wasn't an actual match but a fight between a wild pokemon, it was fair game to play dirty. He grabbed a rather larger rock and ran to the side.

Gyarados's tail was aimed straight at Pikachu, but following Vex's orders, it jumped into the air while the tail itself was bitten by Growlithe. Gyarados let out a slight whimper of pain, but quickly recovered, throwing it off of its tail with a swing.

"Fuck you bitch," Pikachu screamed as it finally unleashed its thunderbolt straight at Gyarados's head. Gyarados, having been prepared roared and a large green shield was raised around it."

"It used protect?" Misty shouted, having recovered from her stunned state. "That's so cool." She sat back and stretched her legs intending to watch the fight.

"Shut up Misty," Vex said as he attempted to think of a way to circumvent the move Gyarados had just pulled. He was running through ideas when one finally stuck. "Pikachu, use thunderbolt on the water and Growlithe, pull back for now."

Pikachu ran forward, its cheeks sparking as it charged the attack once again to full power. Growlithe ran back, stopping by Vex's side, ready and waiting should it be needed again.

Pikachu leaped up, high into the sky that nearly reached the same height as Gyarados's head was. "Take this and prepare to taste defeat!!!" Yellow lightning flashed from its cheeks and struck the water.

Everything upon the surface of the lake lit up with a beautiful yellow glow, including Gyarados as it screamed in pain which actually made Vex feel sorry for it. However this was battle and Gyarados had its pride so he couldn't let up.

"Pikachu pour it on even more." Vex yelled, and was about to send in Growlithe when the Gyarados suddenly fell over, its head landing on the dry ground. "Cut it off, I thinknits out cold."

The lightning slowly faded, the color yellow slowly fading and returning every thing to normal. Pikachu, who had only been airborn due to the recoil of the lightning release, landed back down and ran back over to Vex.

"Misty, toss me a Pokeball," Vex said as he turned towards the orange haired girl. He wanted to capture it before it woke back up.

"Yeah of course." Misty said as she rifled through Vex's bag, the one she had happened to carry over with her. "Here, catch," Misty said as she tossed him one.

"Thanks gorgeous," He said as he caught the ball. Pressing the button on the front and the pokeball grew to its normal size. "Lets go Pokeball. Catch me a Gyarados!!" He pulled back his arm and let the ball fly.

The white and red ball flew straight at the Gyarados and tapped it on the forehead. The ball opened up, Gyarados turned into red light and was absorbed into the sphere before it finally closed. The ball hit the ground and rolled a bit, it shook three times before becoming still with a small poof!!

"Well, now that you captured that hideous creature," Beatrice said as she stood up. "I want you to explain something to me!! Why did you have that mutt of your attack me?"

"Im sorry but would you like me to call Gyarados back out?" Vex said as he picked up the pokeball. "Cause I can totally do that."

"Well would you look at the time," Beatrice said looking at her wrist which had a gold watch on it. "Its time for me to go to the bathroom, dont wait up." She turned around and ran into the forest.

"Well, to be honest I was going to release him anyways," Vex admitted, smiling at Misty. However he noticed that Misty was currently blushing slightly. "Ummm, you okay there Crop top? Your face is flushed."

"No no, I'm fine," Misty said quickly, turning away from him. "It had nothing to do with you calling me gorgeous thats for sure."

'That is the worst lie I ever heard, not to mention you basically just told me why your embarassed.' Vex thought. 'You could at least try to make it more believable.'

"Gyarados, I choose you," Vex said as he tossed the ball away from him. The ball hit the floor and opened up, there was a flash of light followed by a roar as Gyarados appeared, standing proudly for all to see.

"Hey buddy, down here," Vex called, waving its hand towards the gigantic blue serpentine pokemon. "I wanted to welcome you to the team."

"Oh, its you, the promising rookie trainer." The Gyarados said, lowering its head to Vex. "I applaud you in capturing me, and can actually say that without a doubt you are worthy to command me."

"Well, its good to have you on the team Gyarados, I'm already enjoying your companionship." Vex said sincerely, touching its tail lightly. It was a rough feeling but also felt rather soft, a strange combination to say the least.

"By the way, I never caught your name my new young trainer." Gyarados said in a low voice. "Tell me so I know what to call you!!"

"The name?" Vex asked before giving Gyarados a cool smile. "The next Pokemon Master Vex.....Vex Masters, its a pleasure!!"
