35- Taunted yet again

" Essentially, it's akin to distributing the resources among the larger clan and sects, while creating the illusion that they are sharing with the entire populace, " comprehended Zhong Peng in response to Zhou Shun's explanation.

Zhou Shun acknowledged silently by nodding his head without uttering a single word.

After a while, Zhong Peng finally mustered the courage to pose the question that had been gnawing at him for quite some time now. " May I inquire, Zhou Shun, as to why you are rendering me your assistance? " queried Zhong Peng.

Zhou Shun replied with a strange smile, " You cannot say that I am helping you. Let's just say I am helping myself. "

Zhong Peng was perplexed by Zhou Shun's statement and asked, " What do you mean by that? " His mind was racing with various thoughts and speculations.

Zhou Shun stated, " Your strength is not yet sufficient. You do not possess enough power to grasp the details. "

Zhong Peng asked helplessly, " What is wrong with my strength? "

Zhou Shun did not respond and instead gave Zhong Peng a rather eerie smile before taking a sip from the cup of tea in front of him.

Zhong Peng interpreted the silence as an indication that the conversation had ended and expressed gratitude to Zhou Shun for the tea before taking his leave.

As Zhong Peng exited the manor, he let out a deep sigh of relief. He always felt uneasy in the presence of Zhou Shun.

" Why is everyone complaining about my strength not being enough? " muttered Zhong Peng to himself silently.

He couldn't help but wonder why he kept hearing the same thing from different people.

The old man had mentioned it, as well as the man he encountered at the ancient battlefield who gifted him the crimson blood. Even the tiny longwei had voiced similar concerns. And now, Zhou Shun, with his unsettling demeanor, had also commented on his lack of strength.

Zhong Peng couldn't help but feel frustrated and perplexed by the recurring feedback.

He had always trained hard to improve his skills and abilities, yet it seemed that he was still falling short.

His mind was filled with numerous questions and doubts, and he wondered what he needed to do to overcome this obstacle.

As he walked down the street, he couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort that lingered due to his encounter with Zhou Shun.

He knew he needed to find a way to enhance his strength and prove his worth. The thought of his weakness being exposed to others made him feel vulnerable, and he knew he needed to take action to change his situation.

As Zhong Peng was lost in his thoughts, a familiar voice suddenly interrupted him. "Everyone is complaining because you are weak trash," Longwei's voice rang out.

Zhong Peng was taken aback by the sudden appearance of Longwei on his shoulders.

Zhong Peng could feel his face flush with embarrassment and anger at Longwei's blunt declaration.

He couldn't understand why everyone was so fixated on his lack of strength. He had always tried his best to improve himself, but it seemed his efforts were still not enough.

Zhong Peng exclaimed in exasperation, "What are you doing? What if someone sees you?"

Longwei taunted in a mocking tone, " You don't have to worry about them. They can't see me. They're just a bunch of trash, just like you."

Feeling frustrated and annoyed, Zhong Peng tried to shake off Longwei from his shoulders. He couldn't handle the tiny creature's constant insults and criticisms.

He needed to find a way to prove himself and show that he was not weak.

With determination in his heart, Zhong Peng continued on his journey, determined to find a way to enhance his strength and prove his worth to those around him.

The journey ahead was long and arduous, but he knew he couldn't give up. He would keep pushing forward, no matter what obstacles lay in his path.

Zhong Peng strode forward confidently, his eyes fixed on the destination ahead - the Duan clan.

Longwei, perched on his shoulder, continued his taunting words, but Zhong Peng chose to ignore him. He had bigger things to worry about.

After a prolonged acquaintance, Zhong Peng has realized that the elderly gentleman is a highly intelligent and experienced individual. In contrast, Longwei comes across as a spoiled brat who lacks any significant life experience. He appears to possess physical strength but lacks mental acuity.

Zhong Peng, being aware of the futility of responding to Longwei's provocations, has made the conscious decision to disregard them.

Upon Zhong Peng's arrival at the Duan clan, he once again found himself to be the last one to arrive.

He was greeted by Xiao Se wearing the same creepy smile as before, while Duan Jingtao gave him a fierce look. Duan Mei, on the other hand, gave him a seductive smile, while the rest of the people present ignored him.

"I can no longer bear Longwei, and have decided to sell him. Any interested buyers?

HO HO HO HO!"
