Chapter 14

After Michael entered the Door he looked at where he was. He is at the same place where he had first met Shen, said man is standing in the middle of the room looking at him, or facing him since he wasn't able to see his face due to the helmet.

"Why did you attack like that?" Michael asked him as he glared at him.

"I wanted to test your instincts to know if you had grown. I'm impressed by it but I didn't think that you would have someone there with you." Shen said to him as his Rings appeared on his forearms.

Michael looked at the Rings before at his own as he has a determined face as he looked at the one who had given him the strength he now possessed.

"Now show me how much you have grown." Shen said getting into a stance.

Michael didn't wait for long and short towards the warrior as he reeled his right fist back and multiplied his strength by 2 as he sent a punch.

But his fist didn't connect as Shen used his right palm to redirect the attack before he gave an attack using the right side of his right fist which was also glowing a gold colour.

When the attack hit Michael felt the air leave his lungs before he was shot back from the force of the attack. He immediately used his Rings to dig into the floor and slow his pace. But he kneeled on the floor and heaved a bit and hit his chest a few times and coughed due to the hit.

"You still have much to learn. You know how to utilise my Rings but you do not have the necessary techniques to control your body. You should learn how to fight instead of just brute forcing your way through your problems." Shen said to him calmly as he stood with crossed arms.

"I know." Michael said as he stood up.

"You have to give me a clean hit once for you to complete this challenge." Shen said to me as Michael looked at him.

Michael then multiplied his speed again and shot towards the man and was ready with a punch. Shen blocked it but wrapped the left Rings around the man's right leg and multiplied his strength and pulled him into the air. Michael then shot his Rings but Shen blocked them using his Rings which created a shockwave that sent the two back from the force.

But Michael knew that he had to defeat the man before him quickly to make sure that his friend would be alright so he skidded to a stop before attacking again with multiplied strength and speed as he sent a punch which was redirected by Shen.

Michael sent a kick using his left leg which was blocked by Shen, he jumped back before dashing forward again as he started to send punches and kicks at the man in front of him. He multiplied his strength and speed and the amount of punches was getting much more than Shen could handle at the current time.

Yes, he has the technique but with this many attacks it gets hard to block all of it. Don't get him wrong he can defeat Michael if he put his mind to it but he is just testing the boy so he has no need to actually go all out.

Michael then sent an uppercut which was blocked by Shen who used both his forearms but the force from the attack sent him into the air. Michael jumped after him and Shen at seeing it sent a punch. But contrary to what he thought, Michael actually placed one of his Rings between them and used it to jump to a pillar beside them before jumping to give the warrior a kick.

Shen was a bit surprised by the unexpected way of attack by the boy but he blocked the kick using his left arm. But to his confusion Michael smirked. The warriors answer came in the form of Michael's Ring which was floating above them shot towards him and gave a solid hit on his head sending him to the floor.

Or that is what should've happened but Michael's Ring was blocked by Shen's Ring before the warrior sent a punch to Michael. But this time both the Rings on his right arm and an energy fist attacked Michael at once sending him away from him and straight to a pillar.

"Gaah!" Michael cried in pain as he smashed into the pillar.

The pillar cracked from having a human forced onto it as Michael fell down but he corrected himself midair and landed relatively safely. Though he got his wind knocked out of his lungs again but he powered through as he stood up slowly.

Shen had also landed as he stood up and looked at his chosen. Michael raised his head and looked at him with a glare as he got into a stance. Then he multiplied his speed and shot towards Shen who responded by sending an upward claw attack. Then a wave of energy in the form of a claw appeared and went towards Michael.

However Michael managed to dodge it and decrease the distance between the two of them as he got ready to punch him as Shen also got ready. Then the two punched each other with all of their might.

But Shen was surprised when his attack actually went through Michael's fist as he realised what had happened.

'He made an afterimage?' Shen thought to himself surprised and shocked.

He then gave a roundhouse kick to his back which met Michael who also turned out to be an after image. Another one appeared behind where the first afterimage was and sent a kick packed with his power.

Shen however bent his body down and forward dodging again before lashing out with another attack. But surprisingly enough Michael caught the warrior and raised him into the air before slamming him onto the floor. The reason it worked was because Michael had spun the warrior when he was slamming him down so he wasn't as prepared as he should've been.

The sound of the clanking of armor on the floor was heard as the floor cracked from the force and strength that Michael had used. Then he jumped back from the warrior as he knew that he should still be careful.

Then Shen immediately got up and stood as if nothing happened. He looked at the crack on the floor and nodded as if in satisfaction before he looked at Michael.

"You did well. As I had said I will give you a new skill. Make sure to train and get stronger." Shen said to him in a matter of fact tone.

"Yes yes, if that's done then let me get out. I need to get Lakshmi to the hospital." Michael said with a tone of urgency.

"Of course." Shen said with a nod before he walked to the throne.

He sat on it as Michael looked at him and a few seconds later a notification came which showed that he has gained a new skill. The Door opened which also signified that the challenge had been completed. Michael had hope in his eyes as he immediately ran to the Door.

"Thanks for the second skill and don't be a jerk the next time." Michael said to him as he bolted out of the Door.

Shen watched as the Door closed in front of him before it vanished. He chuckled soon afterwards as he then sat straight and placed his hands on the hand rest and put his right leg over his left one.

"He is growing very fast indeed." Shen said as he looked at the crack floor.
