Maya, an omega, has been a victim of bullying since she turned sixteen and was found out to be without the wolf gene or trait. Her chief tormentors were the three sons of the Lycan King who ruled over the entire werewolf regions, taking into captive colonies that defied his order. After being set up by a jealous classmate, Maya is beaten and left for dead at the borders of their pack by the king’s three sons, who told the pack that she had been captured by some rogues. Maya is saved by a witch who adopted and drilled her on the ways of the ancient magic and sorcery, whilst encouraging and preparing her for a huge revenge plan which threatens to upset the balance of the world and unleash the great threads of darkness seven years later when she returns to her previous pack to perpetrate justice on her tormentors. She comes at a crossroads when she discovers her true heritage and that her mate was the biggest bully there ever was, Adam Brekans, eldest son of the lycan king. What happens now? Would Maya continue on her quest for revenge? Or would she submit to the threads of love so that peace could reign?
"Wow, you rock girl!" Naomi screamed when we got to the living room.
I wanted to ask her how I rocked looking so crestfallen and quite bullied, but I kept silent, knowing that she must have had a reason for the weird statement.
"Did you see the look on their faces when you stepped out of the pool? It was priceless. I am sure the guys must be wondering why they hadn't noticed those distinct delicious features of yours." she mentioned, winking at me even as she threw a light jab on my right shoulder and spanked my ass which she claimed was very sought after by the opposite gender.
She must have noticed the sad look on my face because she hung her hand around my shoulder the next moment, her face losing its earlier amusement and humour.
"I am sorry about what happened earlier, Maya. Daniel is a prick. If I had known, we would have perhaps settled for scrabble upstairs or do something else." She apologized, but I shook my head, a wry smile making its way across my lips when I realized that she would never have replaced this moment we just had with a boring scrabble game or any other games. Well, apart from the bullying.
She was right though. The looks on their faces was fucking priceless.
I pushed her gently with my shoulder, leaning into her then withdrawing back in a push and pull motion.
"Don't worry about that Naomi. I am sure that you had meant the best for me when you had chosen the pool as an avenue to pass time. After all, how could you have seen or known that we would have company?" I pointed out, and she shrugged.
"But you know, apart from the stupidness of Daniel, it was worth it. Don't you think so?" she asked, repeating my motion from earlier. I smiled shyly, remembering their faces again, laughing out when Naomi dropped a light jab on my shoulder.
"You sly queen. I know you liked it. Well, I am going to make sure that it stays that way." she promised, holding my hand and leading me to the kitchen. She must be a witch. If not, how could she have known that my appetite had returned.
"Don't worry, you don't have to eat. Just watch me. Who knows your appetite might come back. But I am really hungry, and I think if I sit it out like I had done earlier whilst considering your feelings, I think I might faint. You know I hadn't eaten at the cafeteria this afternoon." She said, opening the cardboard, and bringing out a tray of cookies.
I scoffed, taking one cookie off the plate, a smug smile on my face when I saw the shocked look on her face. "You you.." She stuttered even as she picked a cookie from the tray. "You said you had lost your appetite earlier.."
"Well, that was earlier. I am hungry now." I replied, munching and moaning on the cookie.
"I have said it before. You are a sly chick." She retorted, taking another cookie from the plate.
She took a few steps backward and retrieved a juice bottle from the refrigerator, took out two glass cups and placed the items on the kitchen counter.
"Eat up friend. I wish our stomachs would expand so that we would finish the whole food here. So that when those idiots are done skinny dipping, there would be no food to enjoy." She muttered, as she drank a glass of juice, and refilled the glass cup again.
Okay, she was a foodie, just like me. Well, all werewolves were.
"Yeah, I wish.'' I agreed, really wishing I could for once return the favors the hooligans have granted to me this past one year. But why had they come here? Do they do this often?
"Naomi..do you know why they are here? It's this like a norm for them?" I asked her, echoing my thoughts.
"No, I don't think so. I don't think they come here in the middle of the school's classes. I think it has something to do with the cafeteria event. It's likely that the principal had sent them home to think on their mistakes." She answered, scoffing at the likelihood of that answer.
I understood her. If she was right, then the punishment wasn't a punishment.
To think on their mistakes? Puhleeze! Daniel had just knocked me, twice. I still felt the pain right at the middle of my head. But even then, it's still a surprise that there was a punishment.
Has the matter become so serious to them now? I wondered, remembering the meeting that my parents are at, at the moment.
The three boys have always been bullies, just subtly though, till I was confirmed wolfless and they had chosen me as a PlayToy. I have never liked them.
A phone ringing nearby broke the comfortable silence that existed between I and Naomi as we stuffed more cookies into our mouth like people who hadn't eaten food for a month.
"That's my ringtone. I'm, coming. It's probably my mother," she said, keeping the half cookie in her hand on the tray right before stalking toward the stairs, leaving me alone in the kitchen.
Not bothered in the least, I passed out time by eating more cookies and drinking juice, wondering after some minutes why she wasn't back yet. I hoped nothing had happened. I was probably in my hundredth cookie when suddenly I felt a presence behind me.
"You know, with the way you are eating, someone would expect that you are a fat pig. But alas…you are as slim as a model."
The cookie fell from my instantly shaking hand to the floor, my heart beat going erratically over the fence.
What was Adam Brekan doing here?
