21 The Desolation

A great fire illuminated the bliss, Greek sky. The stars sparkled like gems as embers from the flame floated in their direction.

On the Island of Thera, an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast from the Greek mainland sat the city of Akrotiri.

A city with complexes of multi-level buildings, streets, and squares with remains of walls standing as high as eight metres sat burning in a great fire. The citizens of the city either burned or erupted their own bowels everywhere, even on each other. A once bustling city reduced to chaos.

A group of 500 hooded people had managed to reduce the 15,000 populated city to pandemonium as they spread the love of their god. Only a few hours before the city was aflame, the hooded people pour special concoctions into the water before doing it to everyone they came across.

"DIDNT I TELL YOU, BROTHERS AND SISTERS?!? THIS DAY WOULD BE A GLORIOUS DAY FOR OUR CAUSE! IT IS OUR CAUSE TO PURIFY THIS WORLD OF SUFFERING!" A man of sickly green skin stood in front of the rapidly increasing group. He saw as the men and women of the city they purified joined them. They strolled aimlessly as the pox took over their minds. "I ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE SUCCEEDED IN CLEANSING THIS CITY!" Roars and exclaims of praise and excitement came from the crowd.

They had learned that the Minoan frescoes depict "Saffron-Gatherers", who offer their crocus-stamens to a seated lady, perhaps a goddess. But a goddess that was clearly not Maegor, and even more insulting, bot a goddess of Greece. A foreign goddess they did not know nor cared to know. All they knew was she is apparently a goddess of plagues and breathe's fire, and the hot winds of a desert.

How maddening for a foreign god or goddess to proclaim theirselves the same as Maegor.

Poseidon POV

How maddening…

I remember the day when I fist entered the ocean with my full connection. We had drawn lots. Hades picked first, The Underworld was his place to rule. I didn't envy him. Zeus had gone next, he had pulled the sky, the heavens and Mount Olympus. Envy him I did.

I, of course, drew the sea. Pure Power in all its divine awe.

Never before had I felt such a rush. Perhaps I was to busy fighting my father and his brothers to notice. No- that's impossible to not notice how I felt.

My mood….my temper reflected in the element that surrounded me. A deceptive calm atop stormy depths, swiftly turning. From the bottom of the deep blue-green, my arms reached out and across the globe and held it in embrace. With the trident granted to me by the cyclopes, I bent the tides and currents to my will.

I remember as the waves slid from my dark hair. The foam divided. From the roaring deep, my voice thundered. The sea boiled fiercely. They galloped like stallions on upon the shores of grandmother Earth. I, Poseidon, Ruler of the Boundless Sea, Creator of Storms, The EarthShaker, The Swallower of Ships….couldn't fathom the power of this place.

For all the strength and divine pull I felt on that day simply could not compare to what I felt for only a second.

Once the winged monstrosity took us to the beauty of a pasture, I gazed upon his form for only a second. A figure flashed into my mind.

An immense, bloated humanoid, its body swollen with putrefaction. The skin is shown as leathery and necrotic, its surface pocked with running sores, swelling buboes and oozing wounds. It was hatchet-faced with a condescending smile and I recoiled from its crenelated, tombstone teeth.

This b-boy was not a g-g-god…..he couldn't be, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE!

'A d-deamon! A being of imaginable power! A being of pure, sick, plight, and contagion. A being of demented thoughts and...A being of CHAOS!

Athena POV

When we finally arrived to meet the young god, what I expected to find was a throneroom or…something, but I remised to find Maegor reclining in some sort of chair next to a lake of suspicious looks.

"Maegor!-" My father strolled over to the boy before pulling him into a hug. Alarm bells rang off in my head, the sheer impossibility of such a act. I let my divinity leak out, asking reality my questions, prodding the fabric of the world with inquiries. They gave no insight, as if they had none, but that was also impossible.

I didn't listen to what they talked about. I delved deeper, I HAD TO! Physic energy permeated into the fabric, I had never pushed me this far but something told me I would have to. The philosophical embodiment of knowledge was at my beck and call, mysteries and the unknown had no place in front of me.

"Remain inn þinn staðr, mær. Þessi er nei staðr þú þorfutilr bother þinn sjálfr með." An ancient voice called out to me. I recognized the language, Norse.

"You would dare deprive ME, ATHENA, of answers?!? State your identity before I strike you down." I knew that only a god or being of knowledge could appear in such a space, a space of great information.

"þú gereigir demanð svarfranr mik, mær, begine!" It spoke before the grip of the physic realm pushed me out.

When I came back, not even a second went by. Although my rage was at a all-time high, I still needed to ponder. "Maegor, might we speak about the being you encountered?" Im not sure if he could recognize the loathing in my voice but thta didn't matter. I needed answers NOW!

Maegor POV

I summoned Gorr's body. It was filled with my creations before I snapped them away, erasing them from the body and reverting it to its original appearance. Pale as shit.

"An alien?" Apollo took immediate interest in the body. He examined it perfectly like a future mortician and pathologist. "Well…obviously Maegor killed him with his sickness's. It's definitely not of this world."

"Alien then. What are such beings doing here? On our planet?" Zeus crackling voice asked. "Would this be a declaration of War? Do they-"

"Im not sure that is it father. He is called the GodButcher, perhaps he killed his own gods?" Hermes was next before Athena stepped in.

"He killed a god from the far the far West-"

"Apikunni, The Blackfoot God of War." Zeus said. We all gained surprise at his words.

"How do you know of Foreign gods?" Hera asked what we all internally asked.

"I am a SkyFather, as well as the GodKing of this Pantheon, it is my duty."

"Then who else did he kill, brother?" My father asked.

"Chernobog The Black and Perun the Thunder God. Both Slavic."

"How weak must they have been? To die to a mortal." Poseidon voiced out his opinion as he stood far away from me. He barely looked at me.

Hades had made an effort to stand in front of me. "Was the Norse Boy weak, Maegor?"

Athena immediately turned towards me. Her eyes gained a desperate need for something. "Thor was indeed bested by the GodButcher, while not weak, he definitely not at the aliens power."

Zeus turned to me. "Thor? So his son was bested by this alien, huh?" His face gained a smirk of satisfaction. Did he have some beef with Odin?

"You know of their gods as well, father? Perhaps their smartest and most intelligent could aid us?" Athena chimed in immediately. She was obviously fishing for something.

"Ahhh....Odin, with all his knowledge and wisdom would not help us. He cares not for most things."

Eventually we managed to narrow down how many gods he killed while on Earth. Zeus's eyes glowed gold instead of the usual electric blue. A wave of power rushed out, encircling the globe, after a few moments, he spoke, "He killed 13 gods of Earth and injured 2." Gasps ran out among most of them.

I didn't even though I was surprised. In the comics, we only ever saw the Native American gods head with Perun and Chernobog. Seems he was pretty busy. "And what of these alien gods, if some of them are alive, should we not seek answers?" Ares spoke softly, trying not to make it obvious that he wants to battle them.

"It would not do harm to seek them out." Apollo spoke from the side before Zeus immediately turned it down.

Most agreed with Ares and Apollo. "Then one of us will be sent to these Alien gods. Any volunteers?" Zeus said. Every single one of them except Hades turned their gaze to me. "Good. Then Maegor will go to these Alien Gods."

I wasn't against it as it provided me with some exploration and many other things. Hades didn't look to happy. As he strolled after Zeus.

*KRAAAACKKOOOOOMMMM*

They all disappeared, even Hades. 'Thats too bad, I wanted to show him something.'

A silky black substance erupted from my arm and formed into a blade. "I perfected the AllBlack. How Groovy."
