Start From Scratch

There were ten thousand reasons for Mason to give up hope.

However, would such an amazing and stupendous boy give up hope?

This boy was past the level of King, and all the way to the level of a Supreme. When his power level first started growing, everyone thought he'd stop and quit never climbing the stairs to eternity. However, he made it all the way to the Supreme level, and his power level was enough to destroy worlds, and conquer galaxies.

However, that was before he was fired from his universe. The universal ruler of his galaxy no longer wished to witness his climb to fame. In fact, Mason had in a way slighted the maker of the universe in a game of chess. He should've known to never win a game against the universal ruler of the universe! When he did, this caused a cascade and downturn in his tremendously amazing life.

It was unfortunate too because this ruler was usually rooting for him and gifted him treasures. When he was in a world, the boy would usually by a twist of fate discover something like a rare elixir or a talisman.

This ruler was one of the reasons he became so strong, and then the boy had the nerve to beat him in a game of chess. This was analogous to a child defying his mother and father. It became his time to flourish, to start creating his kingdom, and he had the nerve to beat the ruler of the universe in a game of chess?

Well, that was when the ruler of the universe opened up a doorway and pointed towards it. He pretty much meant you better get out of here or I'm going to kill you myself. At least I'm giving you a chance to walk through a doorway and start your life over again! However, this time, it will not be in my neck of the woods. You can go with one of those other universal rulers and have fun with them.

The boy, on the other hand, thought he'd receive a trophy for beating the universal ruler. After all, the reason why he did so good in life was because he never backed down from a challenge. This game had to be for a reason, right? So, Mason walked proudly into the doorway before he scratched his head and looked back at the universal ruler. After seeing a polite wave of his hand, he walked inside the doorway.

"I wish you well! That was a good match sir! Next time… don't hold back on me!"

"Yes, now leave quickly!"

"Okay!" Mason said cheerfully and dived into a new world. The next second the most painful and torturous and gut-wrenching feeling spread over him, and his body was destroyed and reformed.

Every few seconds he was torn apart and went through a cycle of reincarnation. It must have been a thousand different forms that he took in a hyper accelerated world before he felt himself once again in a human body.

He then cried, and tears came out of his eyes. Sure enough, he was a teenager on his third date and a woman just broke up with him. Immediately, his wit returned to him and he began cursing and screaming. It sounded like a blood curdling scream as he agonizingly walked away from the girl with a tear felt apology for his emotions.

She could only scratch her head and then go meet his friend. They had been hitting it off much better anyway, so there was nothing wrong with breaking up with him, right? However, she didn't expect he'd be this distraught. It was like this man was a zombie going through life, and just now he seemed awoken.

She watched Mason go out the doorway and hoist up his two-pinky finger at the sky. If she knew any better, he was saying F*ck you world for letting this happen to me!

She went about eating her food before he seemed to disappear into the horizon. That was when she completely forgot about the extremely attractive but zombie like boy Mason. In a few years, perhaps she'd regret this decision, but now his much less zombie like friend arrived. When he arrived twenty minutes later, Mason was already looking at the birds in the sky and examining his body. What exactly happened to him and why did he feel so weak?

'This was definitely because I won that game… Hmph, if he wasn't such a hard to read old fart, I would've known better than to kick his wrinkly hands in that game. Notwithstanding, what happened to all my power. I feel like I was drained of my essence and Daos… I don't even feel the same domains in the sky… How am I supposed to pierce through the heavens when that old fox put me in such a not understandable place?'

Mason sighed before he looked up and a box dropped on the floor.

It then exploded before a face appeared in front of him. Sure enough, it was that old, wrinkly and sourpuss universal ruler who just destroyed his chances at eternity.

"Mason… You've been away from this universe for a million eras. It has been such a long time that I watched you go through reincarnation. After witnessing you die over a billion times in hyper accelerated space, I decided to give you one last gift. It wasn't your fault for realizing this old goat had a weakness in chess. After all, if you knew, you wouldn't have thought I lost on purpose. After kicking and kneeing the very fabric of time and devouring the essence of some of the universe, I figured let bygones be bygones. However, this is my last gift for you, and a very unfamiliar one to you. I've finally decided to gift you a system called the Pinnacle System…"

"So, using this gift… why don't you just try and become the universal ruler of that galaxy, so we can be friends again at the conference of universal immortals. Perhaps, at that time, I will be good enough at chess that I can look forward to you beating this old bastard. Truthfully, I will train for the entire time until you reach that point. So, sorry from this old man who just killed you over a billion times. Hopefully, you don't remember too many of those deaths."

Mason looked dumbstruck at the head as it left his vision. A second later, the face of the old fart flew into his body, and a voice then entered into his mind.
