Hui Lang blankly gazed ahead at the road with a blank look on his face. "Is this what death feels like? I guess my soul is so small that the angel has to carry me around like a puppy."
Suddenly, the angel grabbed his hands and gave them a squeeze. From his angle, Hui was not able to see his hands at all, but he felt that warm touch.
"You look thin. I'll just have to fatten you up before I cook you. Hehe… braised meat sounds so good~"
Listening to this, Hui Lang was left confused. 'What braised meat? Aren't I just a soul?'
Suddenly, the angel grabbed him by his armpits and lifted him up to his face. "What do pigs eat, by the way?"
'Pig?' Hui Lang snorted. A small oink was heard. 'What was that! Did I just do that!'
"Yes, oink oink~" The angel playfully tugged at his ears.
Hui Lang let out a surprised oink again. 'Oh my god! What…..' Something caught his eyes.
His reflection in the angel's beautiful, clear, shining eyes.
He did not see a familiar handsome face.
Rather… he saw a pig's pink nostrils that were twitching wildly.
'No way… This is not happening… NOOOOOO!!!!!!'
He fainted from shock.
Tian gazed at the pig that was struggling but now went limp. "Oh, it's asleep." He hugged it close to his body and happily went off to the supermarket. But at the door, he noticed a sign that said the store doesn't allow any pets.
"Hmmm, I'll see about that." He stuffed the piglet into his shirt and held it like he was holding a huge tummy, and walked in confidently.
The cashier just gave him a brief look, but seeing his smiling face, he too smiled and went about his job.
Tian happily ran to the snack counter and bought a few cheap snacks. Right now, he was low on cash but really wanted to repay the kind man for letting him crash at his home. This was all he could afford.
He quickly ran to the cashier and handed him his findings.
"That would be five dollars."
"Here~" He happily stuffed the five dollars in the guy's hand and left with his chip bag stuffed in his tummy.
This is exactly what Hui Lang woke up to. A chip bag stuffed close to his face. The sharp edges poked his nose. Disturbed by this, he moved his head away, hitting warm flesh.
'Wait…' Eyes wide open, he gazed at the expanse of white flesh in front of him. Light shone through the thin white shirt, casting a pink glow on his skin.
"EEEEEEEEE!!!!!"
Tian pulled the piglet out with a smile. "Hey piggy, you're finally awake. Look at this." He showed him a packet of marinade rub. "I bet you will taste yummy with this on~"
Hui completely froze up in shock. "Oh my god, this crazy angel is trying to eat me!" He doubled his efforts to escape, but strangely, the angel's grip was like a vise.
He could not get out!!!!
"Chill, it won't be that painful. I've watched a YouTube tutorial on how to clean a pig. I bet I can do it painlessly." The angel sighed. "But it's sad that you have to die so young. On the bright side, you can fill my tummy. Isn't that a good thing?"
'No, it's not!!!!' Hui squealed loudly.
"Ohhh, you sound so cuteee…" He hugged him close to his face and ran into the small, dingy house.
Hui Lang watched this with a frown. "Isn't he an angel? Why is he living in such a run-down place? Don't angels like live in heaven…"
"Oh, Tian, you're back," another person exited the house. He looked vaguely familiar, but Hui was not able to put a finger on it.
'Is he another angel?'
"Lu Chen, look what I found. Dinner~ I bet we can eat this for a few more days." He happily showed his findings to his new friend.
Lu Chen gazed at the cute piglet with a smile. "The sow is too young."
"So what? We can eat it now." Tian gently stroked its head.
Hui Lang felt a deep chill run down his spine. He had guessed it would be his death day. But he didn't expect his death to come in such a cruel form. 'Oh god, what have I done to deserve such misery… I should have done good deeds in my life…'
Lu Chen chuckled. "Or we can wait a few months until it's big enough. The meat will be tender then."
"Oh… okay,"
That was how Hui Lang escaped from becoming braised meat.
For now.
