Rick Peterson

Natalie threw him a neutral gaze, watching his eyes trailing down to her coloured lips,a disgusting smug, slowly crept his lips.

Oh please!

"I'm listening-" She again called him out of his daze.

"Uhmm" He began, clearing his throat. "You didn't come for our previous meeting. I thought something happened to you"

Natalie mentally raised both her brows utterly speechless. Not at his words but at the sudden change of voice to a rather soft and overtly apprehensive one. She swayed her neck to meet his gaze still on her. This was nothing like the Dave she knew, what happened to the gruff, slightly surly voice he had? Natalie thought, whatever he thought he could possibly achieve by this he was no doubt illusive, her eyes still on him. But it seemed the stare she placed on him was mistaken by Dave.

"Yes Natalie. I noticed, and at this point it isn't any secret that I care for you." He took a shallow breath.

Natalie was void of all expression, but it appeared like Dave had developed powers or something and he now seemed to be reading more false meaning to her gazes.

As much as Natalie hated him,she couldn't help but break her cold demeanor with a light chuckle at his clearly magnified stupidity.

Dave smirk widened, grinning like a fool. His eyes glowed as if saying 'seems like I'm getting somewhere'

Wish he could see hers shooting back. 'Not in this lifetime darling'

"It's true Natalie. I'm drawn to you in more ways you couldn't imagine." He rasp.

Natalie was positive he wasn't reciting this from his head. He must have practiced real hard. But she didn't know if it was just her or had Dave apparently weakened at his art of seduction or maybe she had gotten too bored with his.

Even when wooing Jeanine, he did a lot better.

Natalie kept on thinking, her alluring blue orbs following his lips without volume. She had no idea how he was few inches away from her lips.

"Excuse.me." This was the first thing she could mutter, unfortunately her words held the raw repulsive trail of hatred, that Dave was taken aback. "Dave-" She cooed, her enticing breath fanned his face but his, sadly and irritatingly shrieked her skin.

"I really can't-" She said as politely as she could, but Dave's smirk blossomed making her gag internally.

He didn't move a muscle.

Natalie could tell, that he was probably hoping she would reconsider by his approach and what? Kiss him? Fall for him? Well she didn't plan on doing either of them.

"Dave" She called out.

Her eyes stuck on his. She let out an inward sigh. She knew she was wasting her good time that should had been invested meeting Senator Rick Peterson on this lowlife sham of a husband, wish she could say ex-husband.

"Dave" She said again, this time more gentle and more warningly than her last.

Dave smiled, one Natalie knew didn't reach his heart. His gaze held hers as he nodded wryly. "You know I-" His words were cutoff as soon as the elevator doors were opened, just as soon Dave jerked away.

Natalie instantly threw her eyes at the door which revealed a gruffy middle aged man. His attire soundly proved he was a well distinguished figure. Natalie trailed right from his well straightened tux up to the scattered stubble that took dominance on his face. As soon as her eyes met with his,she straightened up.

'Rick Peterson' She whispered silently. If anyone was staring at her, they could have seen the faded glint of joy that filled her unfeeling blue orbs.

"You-" The man named,Rick Peterson uttered with sheer hatred that could kill, literally. His brown orbs which had a indistinctive shade of yellow darkened, disgustingly eyeing them both. Natalie blinked confusedly at who he his killer words aimed to murder.

"Hello Sir" Dave tugged his hands into his pockets, returning Rick's glare.

"You imbecile-" Rick slurred, he held Dave's stare for a second, moving over to take a good look at his companion then back to him. "You never change, you bastard."

Natalie face fell hard with surprise. The Rick Peterson she knew was hell one of the nicest and kindest person she had the privilege of knowing. He didn't cuss make that never but this man before her was far from that. He was nothing like the man she grew up with always referring to as 'Uncle Ricky', a second father figure she looked up to and he was most definitely not the man her father considered a brother. What the hell happened to him?

Rick narrowed his angry distasteful glare at her.

"It's nice seeing you again" Dave spoke calmly and indifferently. Rick's words didn't happen to faze him out. Natalie knew her so called husband was probably accustomed to this old man manner of greeting.

Dave glance over to Natalie with his lips pursed in a tainted smile. He appeared like this was nothing but Natalie knew considering the kind of person Dave was,he was no doubt dying in shame at her presence in such unfriendly air. She knew he would have probably lashed out at Rick if she wasn't here.

"You better watch out, this swine you see here is a devil,I just hope you realise it before it's too late and he destroys you." Rick's words were spiteful, holding the raw hatred he felt for Dave. "I pity you dear" Rick slurred at her,his eyes disdainfully eyed her shamefully, before exiting with the army of guards that were all over him.

"I'm so sorry for-" Dave begun out of abashment but was graced instead with the plastered fury on Natalie's face who angrily stomped out of the elevator in a haste.

"Natalie!" He called out, attempting to follow her but was abruptly stopped with the familiar hands of Calvin.

His burning flare of eyes met with Calvin. Dave knew better not to follow. He was angry but he didn't know if it's because of that meddlesome silly old bastard or by Natalie's sudden anger outburst.

Regardless he was angry, probably on both or maybe more on Natalie.

How dare she? No woman had made him feel so small, worthless and so exasperated.

He was the player who females chased after, begging his attention and a taste of his love but clearly not the other way round.

Dave grimaced smashing his balled fist on the air in raging fury. He was Dave, the Dave Anderson and he didn't know how taming a single woman proved so hard. Even the toughest of them he conquered...

He paused thinking of Emma.

...then why was Natalie so fucking different.
