Chapter 2

As soon as April arrived at the food house, she explained what had happened, as some customers had called to complain about the delay. The truth was that she had only been in a traffic jam for twenty minutes, enough time to cost her her job. What was she going to do now? He had lost his second livelihood and with it the illusions of being able to get out of the abyss he had been in since the death of his parents.

"Son of a good mother!" she stormed into the apartment and threw the backpack on the floor.

"What happened, why are you so early?" questioned surprised Erika, her friend, who appeared from the kitchen wearing a cook's apron and all full of flour. Behind her was Cathy, looking just like her and holding back laughter, although clearly the image was amusing. All three burst out laughing.

"What happened to you, April?" her sister insisted.

It was then that she remembered why she was so angry.

"Because of some jerk I lost my job." That was enough to completely wipe the smile off little Catherine's face. "No, no, love, I'll get the money so we can travel."

She knew more than too well that it would be impossible. How could she raise over $40,000,000? Not in ten lifetimes could she do it, and although she had to tell the truth and not raise false hopes, she couldn't break her illusions, she didn't have the heart to do it.

Her friend didn't agree with what she was doing, but she understood why. So, even though she knew it was wrong, she encouraged the lie.

"Yes, and I'm going to help," Erika commented, although, to tell the truth, raising that sum, and on top of that in dollars, was almost impossible, but they couldn't break the girl's illusions because only she knew what it felt like to be prostrated in that wheelchair.

Suddenly, the house phone rang. The three of them looked at each other.

Cathy, at the same time as Erika, shouted, "The cloying one again!" And they concluded laughing.

They were referring to Mauro, her boyfriend, with whom they had been in a relationship for a year and a half. They also had plans for the future together.

Since the whole thing with Abril's parents, he had always been willing to help her, even worked twice as hard to raise some money and put it into the well so Cathy could walk again. She deserved to be able to fulfill her dream of being a great dancer, and he knew how important her legs were to getting there.

"Hello, love" he spoke from the other end of the line.

"Hi honey, how are you?" she tried not to let the discomfort of losing her job show.

"Fine, luckily fine. Thank God I was able to get in touch with you. I want to take you out to lunch at a very nice place."

He had been at his second job as a bank teller for a month and wanted to take her out to dinner somewhere nice where she could feel comfortable, not worrying about anything. She had been upset by circumstances for six months and it was time to breathe a little.

"I don't know, love. I have to take care of Cathy and help Erika with dinner."

In the background she could hear the cries of both the aforementioned dismissing her excuse.

"Please, my love, I swear you won't regret it. Besides, I'm really looking forward to...you know what" he told her flirtatiously.

It was amazing how he, referring to sex, could feel so intimidating. That must be why she liked him and wanted him so much. She was in love. She had never felt this way, or at least she thought she had.

"Well, okay." She rolled her eyes.

Later that night she decided to wear a white dress that showed off her large breasts very well. Since it would be a special and hot night, she chose a prominent, but at the same time suggestive neckline, as she wore a skin-colored lace that gave the impression that her breasts were not only covered by that white fabric when it was a whole. She also decided to put on a pair of silver stilettos. She left her hair down. Instead, her bangs, black as night, she wore them pulled back to one side with a clip. For makeup, she wore false eyelashes, cat eyeliner, which highlighted her dark brown eyes, and a fiery red on her lips that would make any man or woman passing by on the street burn with ideas.

When she was ready and the wall clock struck twenty, the doorbell rang. When she opened the door, she found her fiancé all dressed up, dressed for where they were going, and with a flower in his hand. A rose as red as her lips.

"Awww" said Cathy and Erika in unison.

The truth was, they made fun of how corny this man could be sometimes, but they still loved him for her, because, besides, he was very important to both of them when their parents died.

"Stop it." She laughed, knowing that those kinds of comments made Mauro turn red.

"Hello, love," he greeted her softly and deposited a kiss on her lips.

"Hello, my life." She told him and looked at him with smitten eyes." Come on, because these two will say anything stupid.

They walked out to the laughter of her sister and her friend, who watched them from the doorway.

"Use a condom, brother-in-law!" shrieked Cathy.

April turned around to signal him to shut his mouth while holding back laughter.

"I still have one in my pocket," he blurted out in embarrassment.

"Only one? " April asked mockingly.

They laughed.

If there was one thing she liked it was sex, and if it was with him, so much the better.

When they arrived at the place, she fell in love with the surroundings. The lights were warm colors, giving the impression of a large space, when in reality it wasn't so much. When the girl at the front desk approached them, she called their name and then escorted them to one of the tables that faced the window, which in turn faced a fountain full of lights with angels spouting water from their mouths. It was a dream.

"It's beautiful, and it must have cost you a fortune." She looked at it fondly.

"Nothing is too much for the woman in my life."

Feeling lucky, she reached out and took his hand.

"I don't know what I'd do without you. I love you so much." She reached up to cup his cheeks and pull him closer to her face. She wanted to kiss him.

"I love you," he said between her lips.

"And I how could you not imagine it" she concluded with a smile.

They had ordered pasta with sauce and red wine to drink. It was not the most expensive, as it was what they could afford.

During dinner they talked about all sorts of things, especially about Catalina's operation. Although he offered to give her half of his salary, she did not accept. It wasn't much and she didn't want him to think he was taking advantage of her good heart. She had to take care of her sister on her own. She also told him about the incident she had had that morning, although she didn't mention that she had been fired from her job, as she didn't want to give him any more worries, it was enough that her little sister was discouraged with her broken hopes of walking again. He didn't know how, but he would get that money.

"I'm going to the bathroom" she informed him.

He chuckled.

April wasn't one of those refined women, but she sure did well when they had to go to places like the one where they were having dinner.

"I love you." he told her.

She leaned close to his ear to tell him something that made him uncomfortable: "I can't wait for you to make wild love to me."

April was two women in one. On the one hand, a very quiet, sweet, romantic and, why not, shy one. On the other hand, she was passionate about life and a lover of sex like no other in Mauro's life. She loved oral sex above all things. "For the love of art," she would say every time she knelt at his feet. He couldn't help but get lost in the black of her dilated pupils.

As soon as she headed for the bathroom, the phone she kept in her purse rang. When she picked it up, she was distracted taking a person with her, who tipped a glass of wine between her breasts.

"I'm sorry, I know..." She couldn't finish speaking because they both, in unison, said the same thing: "You're following me!".

He couldn't help but bring his eyes to her cleavage, which was soaked with the wine in her glass. The white dress took on a pinkish color. She wanted to kill him.

"Will you stop looking at my breasts..." she demanded and tried to clean up the mess he had made with his hands. "Will you give me a hand?" she snapped at him, offended.

At that moment she realized what she had said, so she looked up.

"Don't misunderstand me. I mean give me something to dry off with. But what idiot would come to the baths with a glass of wine?" she mumbled in annoyance, but she didn't even get an apology. "Well?" he looked at her expressionlessly. "Are you going to pretend you're not looking at my breasts or at least deign to apologize?"

"You owe me," he said dryly.

"How arrogant you are," she hissed angrily, and couldn't help biting her lower lip in annoyance.

She wanted to insult him, but she didn't.

She was about to continue on her way when he interrupted her.

"That was exciting what you just did." he told her and she looked up and noticed his pupils dilate." Do it again.

She looked at him quizzically and pushed him toward the bathroom.

"What a woman has to put up with from degenerate and shameless guys" she told him very annoyed.

Something had happened inside her, just as it had in him.

That gesture had turned him on so much that, just by closing his eyes and imagining her doing it again, he felt his member become aroused. However, April was very different from the women he was used to being intimate with. She was wild and untamed and undeterred by anyone, least of all him, and that appealed to him in a way.
