“Looks like we’re arriving,” Dani said. “Better gather our stuff.”
They returned to their compartment, and Dani and I rounded up our carry-on bags as well as the garment bags that held our tuxedos. Outside the train station in Aragoni, the driver who was waiting for us was Sal, who’d finally gotten his wish to move to Aragoni. We put our bags into the SUV he was driving and settled down for the five minute ride. Luciano and Izzy seemed too lost in thought to comment on the city as visitors normally do, which was a good thing, because my brain was going full tilt. At my instruction, Sal took us into the parking garage and stopped by the elevator door. In our apartment, we’d just shown our guests their room when Father arrived. I made the necessary introductions, and we settled down in the sitting room.
“Has there been any more news since we spoke?” I said.
