“I think she’ll be able to handle the trip,” Florence said, “as long as we can wait for our flight in that private room at the airport—the one you told me about.”
“What about the crowds in the airport when you first check in, and the people on the plane?”
“I’ve taken her to the mall a few times this summer, and she does all right with people about, as long as they don’t get in her face. With a mild tranquilizer, she’ll do just fine.”
“Okay, Florence, it’s in your hands. You’ll be met in Rome by one of my father’s people. They’ll have a car waiting to drive you to Siena as soon as you clear customs. When you get there, I’ll be waiting.”
“If you’ll take my advice, Marco, why don’t you give us a day or two to get settled in before you visit us there?”
“Okay, I’ll leave it up to you.”
