Chapter 5: The Father's Greed

The day when Sarah agree to it, Mr. Alexander couldn't wipe out his smile. He told Sarah don't to worry about anything because his the one will get everything ready for her and his son. The last thing that he need to do is, have a talk to Sarah's father. While Sarah haven't thought about what would she say to her uncaring father but soon realise that she should think about that first. What an idiot, I was thinking about dad's debts but I didn't think about this, Sarah sigh. As if Mr. Alexander knows what Sarah was thinking about.

"Don't you worry about anything, since I'm the one who as for help with the condition of it. I'll talk to your father." Sarah smile, she feels relief.

"Thank you, sir"

"It's fine, I also have to say thank you for doing this beside your going to be my daughter in law soon so why not called me dad." Mr. Alexander excitedly look at Sarah. He knows Sarah is a good girl, facing hardship in such a young age but never gave up on it, keep fighting and still able to smile no matter what. He had made a great decision on this, he just hope that his son would also change for the better.

A few days later, Alexander come and visit Sarah's House. He meet her father and he couldn't help but feel a bit angry, it is suppose to be the father duty to bring food and provide anything in the house as the head of the house but looking now: looking at Sarah's father, he just sit at the sofa in the living room watching television while drinking beer and have no care at all in his surrounding. Sarah look at him and sign a apologise for what he see and he smile knows that he is okay with it.

"Dad we have guest, please can you turn off the TV. His here to see you."

"Shut up brat, I can do what ever I want, Its my house."

How rude, don't know why this man have such a nice daughter with that kind of attitude. Without any delay, Alexander just seat the opposite to Sarah's father.

"Hello Mr. Yukohara my name is Mr. Alexander Holt and I'm here to meet and discuss you about something."

Sarah's father stop watching at the television and look at Alexander. Shocked by the sudden name.

" You mean the Alexander Co founder of the EXO company?"

" Oh so you know who I am? "

" Of course, who doesn't know about you. "

And just like that Sarah's father attitude change. He look at his daughter and said

"Why didn't you say anything about us having an important guest here?!!" He was about to scold Sarah again but were cut by Alexander's word.

"Please come down Mr. Yukohara. I hope we can talk calmly here. Here the thing, I'm here to discuss regarding about your daughter Sarah"

"What about her? Did she do something that offend you Mr. Alexander?" He surely knows that his daughter had made a trouble, if she did. I'll beat her up after this, useless daughter. Yukohara thought.

"Actually I'm here to ask your permission in handing your daughter to marry my son."

"Wha.. What?" He didn't expect Mr. Alexander say something like this.

Mr. Alexander say the question again.

"You don't know my daughter, why would you want her to marry your son?"

"Actually your daughter and I have known each other for few years, she helps me during my accident a few blocks from here."

"Ohh i see, Sarah never told me about this" He glare at his daughter but instead he saw she bow down her head and didn't say anything.

Since this is an opportunity for him, he smile. This man comes from rich family meaning he can get money easily if he agrees to it.

Hahaha, it turns out this daughter might be useful after all.

Mr. Alexander saw Sarah's father expression and he sign, knows what expression it is: greed. He felt bad for Sarah.

"Well I can give my permission but there is a condition."

"I am fully aware that you have debts, Sarah told me about it. And I'm ready to pay it all of it."

Sarah's father seems to feel unsatisfied with the condition. He wants more.

" You can add another condition right? I didn't just want my debt fully pay but also compensation for taking care my daughter for so long. And since you want her to marry your son then is a proper deal.

" Dad!!" Sarah couldn't believe what her father says, it is beyond what she imagine.

"Shut up, and let the adult talk here. Go to the other room and stay out of this discussion"

Sarah feels angry about this, she couldn't help but feels a shame, helpless. She look at Mr. Alexander and Alexander just smile at her

"Go on, it's okay. Just let me handle this with your father."

Sarah just smile bitterly and walks away from the living room.

"Now let us continue, so what do you think Mr. Alexander? Can you agree with my condition?

" No problem at all. I can agree with that Mr. Yukohara"

"Excellent, I'll give you my account number and you can just transfer it. So when will you be done with this" Sarah's father said excitedly, he didn't care about his daughter as long as he has money. He can do just about anything.

"Hold your excitement Mr. Yukohara, I agree with your condition but you will also have to agree to my condition also."

"What is it?"

"After I pay all of your debt and also give you the compensation that you wanted, I do hope that you will walk out of Sarah's life. She could live a better life without a useless father like you who never cares about his daughter but himself. By then do feel happy with what you get although I can tell you now that having to much money doesn't give you the happiness that you need."

Sarah's father".......... "

" Well, starting from now on, Sarah will no longer stay here, since she will be marrying my son soon. She will live with me for awhile."

Without waiting Mr. Yukohara respon, Alexander go to Sarah and told her to pack all her things up. She was confused but Alexander reassure her it was the best for her to leave since the deal has been made. Sarah couldn't help but feel sad, even though her father never cares about her after her mother left both her and her father. She still cares about him, its her father after all.

But then she realise something, money can change people. No matter whether your blood related or not, money can make people do all kind of things.

Well not all people are like that but her father sure is that type of people. He willingly gave her up for money while she willingly gave up her freedom, her happiness for her father and it seem like she made a foolish decision.

Right now, all that she could think of is try to start a new life without her father in it.
