Seeking and Escaping

"Whoooshh!" Allen leaped swiftly from one tree to another, his face bearing a serious expression.

"I never expected that the Grython I killed was merely a mid-level female snake!" Allen narrowed his eyes as he recalled the intense battle in the cave.

The single horn he had seen earlier indicated that the snake was only an intermediate-level Grython!

This occurred because he had failed to focus and pay attention to the snake's level!

"Could it be that the thing being protected by the giant Grython, while fighting the crazy bear is actually the female snake?" He pondered for a moment and finally grasped why the Grython he had encountered didn't attack the mad bear.

"No, no, the snake inside the cave is laying eggs, and the Grython outside is guarding it!" Allen gasped in shock as he reached this conclusion!

Clearly, the Grythons had carefully chosen an extremely secluded nest to safeguard their soon-to-hatch eggs!

"Damn! I killed the Grython in the cave; will the Grython that fought with the crazy bear come to attack me?" His body shivered intensely at the thought.

It was a mysterious-level monster equivalent to a senior-stage True Mage, or perhaps even more formidable!

And now, the snake must have become furious upon discovering the Grython's demise in the cave!

In any case, the sounds of their battle were distinctly audible!

"Not good! I have a terrible feeling that I might get seriously injured or even killed if I face that Grython Snake now!" Allen was filled with anxiety, as his mana reserves had been severely depleted.

He wouldn't return to his mansion because tonight he intended to awaken his second class and open all the gifts he received from the system!

"Wind Magic: Acceleration!" He immediately cast the spell and disappeared into the dense, dark forest.

Meanwhile, a few kilometers away from Allen, a giant snake with a furious and aggressive expression was rampaging, destroying everything in its path.

Its red eyes blazed with intense anger and hatred!

The snake spotted the lifeless body of the bear on the ground and devoured it in one gulp.

Standing tall, its long, enormous body dwarfed trees, some of which were over twenty meters in height.

"Ssshht!" The snake hissed, frantically trying to locate the monster or person responsible for invading its territory and killing its females!

Using its keen eyes and exceptionally strong sense of smell, it detected the scent of a human heading toward the deepest forest.

"Sssshhhhht!" The snake hissed sharply and, consumed by rage, swiftly slithered through the ground, making its way into the forest!

In an instant, the path was obliterated, and trees were uprooted in its wake!

Along the way, Allen focused on running as far away from where the snake might be as possible.

His caution had reached its peak, and he was determined to avoid any potential danger.

"As far as I know, the Grython has an excellent sense of sight and smell, so if it finds its dead female, it might chase me wherever I go based on my scent!"

Allen tapped his forehead, realizing he had forgotten something crucial.

It was because of his divided attention that he overlooked important details like this!

Soon, he paused at a tree and took a deep breath.

The continuous use of mana was depleting his reserves, and he knew that overexertion would lead to falling into a frozen state once again, something he wanted to avoid in his current predicament.

"What a day, both lucky and unlucky..." He shook his head and sat on the tree trunk, pondering how to eliminate the scent.

"Smell, hmm...." After contemplating for a moment, he squinted his eyes and scanned the area until he spotted several low- and mid-level monsters wandering nearby.

An idea crossed his mind, causing him to smile slightly.

"Wind magic: Float!" Instantly, he rose from his seat and hovered in the air while waving his hand.

"Wind Magic: Wind Blade!" Several wind blades formed around him, and he flung the blades at the surrounding monsters.

"Shooshh!" The blades swiftly sliced through the monsters' bodies, killing them in an instant.

The monsters' blood and body parts were scattered, and Allen swiftly released his levitation magic, switching to acceleration magic.

"Wind Magic: Acceleration!" In an instant, he landed on the ground and gazed at the corpses of the slain monsters.

Without delay, he raised his hand, causing the scattered blood to float away!

"With this, I should be safe, right?" He thought casually until suddenly, hundreds of meters behind him, the sound of a massive explosion echoed.

"Boom! Boom!" The deafening explosions repeated, and Allen immediately heightened his guard.

"I didn't expect it to arrive so quickly!" He commented coldly.
