The Calvary Arrives

Immediately after being told to get ready, all the generals dispersed and left the meeting room, leaving only the two commanders in the room.

"Do you think we'll be able to deal with the five-tailed werts?" Commander Chase asked.

"I guess we'll find out." Commander Lucy replied.

Going to take a seat and looking at the projection which was still being projected from the center of the round table, Commander Chase asked Commander Lucy, "Should we inform the monarch of the situation with Anna?"

Taking a while to deliberate, Commander Lucy answered, "No, I don't think we should. He's probably busy right now and we're going to get Anna back anyway, so why let him know."

"But what if he still finds out? And what if this plan of ours backfires somehow?" Commander Chase asked, getting up from the chair and pacing around steadily.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Commander Lucy said. "For now, let's focus on the task at hand. Getting Anna back to safety. She's strong but I doubt if she'll last two minutes against two five-tailed werts. Especially if she's looking after a bunch of kids."

"We need to go get ready as well." Commander Chase said as he stopped pacing around and left the meeting room with Commander Lucy following him out of the room.

Now coming out of the magic circles on the ground was a huge force from the military on Soran. The magic circles were appearing everywhere and more people kept coming out.

On seeing the magic circles appear around the wert base, Jake, Sky and Sasha breathed a sigh of relief. They had been surrounded by the werts and another five-tailed wert had just made an appearance in the air.

Jake knew he was strong but he wasn't sure how he would have gotten away from the wert base with a five-tailed wert and some four-tailed werts chasing after him.

Seeing the soldiers in the wert base, Jake smiled to himself. 'Look who came to the base after all. Why'd you guys say 'no' in the first place?'

"More humans have come to die." the five-tailed wert in the air said out loud, looking at the humans on the ground below who looked like flies from his point of view.

Stepping out of the magic circle below him which was already turning into tiny particles and floating away in the air, Commander Chase was wearing an armour which was black and blue in colour.

Commander Lucy was not wearing armour but she was holding onto a pink coloured sword which was double her size. The sword being pink in colour was kind of weird but she liked it that way. After receiving the sword when she became a commander in the Vedan army, she had personally painted it pink and did her best to ensure it stayed pink.

"Leave the five-tailed wert to me." Commander Lucy said, swinging her huge sword a few times in the air with one hand. It left a deep cut in the ground and the strength behind each swing could be felt by the people close to her.

"If it gets difficult, I'm joining the fight." Commander Chase said and charged forward to attack the werts.

After seeing Commander Chase charge forward and Commander Lucy jump to attack the five-tailed wert in the air, the other soldiers: generals, brigadiers, colonels, and so on, began fighting the werts.

Some of the soldiers fought in small groups in order to kill the werts faster and none of them held back. They fought with everything they had.

Jumping in the air to the level of the five-tailed wert, Commander Lucy raised her sword above her head and brought it down to hit the wert.

Simply moving a little bit to the side, the five-tailed wert, whose name was Krain, used his elbow to hit Commander Lucy on the back of her neck and it sent her falling to the ground.

Landing on the ground with her knees slightly bucked, Commander Lucy looked up and saw Krain flying down towards her.

"You are nothing but a pest which needs to be dealt with." Krain said, in his usual lazy tone, as he flew down to meet Commander Lucy.

In seconds, Krain was in front of Commander Lucy and he had used his claws to take a swipe at her but using her large sword, she was able to deflect the attack and taking advantage of his current blind spot, Commander Lucy kneed him in his midsection.

Krain was lifted higher than he expected and the hit was stronger than he thought it would be. He was a five-tailed wert and for attacks to be able to pass through his very thick skin, it would have to be very strong.

From Krain's thinking, Commander Lucy shouldn't have been able to deliver a hit with that kind of strength. Unless she was somehow using her magic.

With his bare hands, Krain grabbed onto the sword that Commander Lucy had swung down and he had almost dropped to the ground from the amount of strength she had used to swing the sword.

Pushing against the sword with his own strength, Krain was able to slowly stand up and he was about to fly into the air when a soldier attacked him from behind.

The soldier had thrust a spear to the back of Krain, intending to stab him, but the spear had simply hit Krain and stopped in its tracks.

Using all five of his tails, Krain held onto the soldier by his head and applying pressure, Krain squeezed the head of the soldier with his tails while still holding onto the huge sword of Commander Lucy, who was still trying to win in the struggle for strength.

The head of the soldier exploded after Krain applied pressure and before he could fly into the air, Commander Lucy had pulled her sword back and jumped forward with all her strength.

She had jumped with all her strength, making her move incredibly fast but Krain was seeing her coming towards him in slow motion. That was his magic. He saw as she spun in the air and threw her sword forward.

Not sure his strong skin would be able to withstand a direct hit from Commander Lucy with the sword, Krain dodged the attack and before he could react, Commander Lucy had slammed her fist right into his chin, sending him high into the air with a broken jaw and a bit of blood spilling out of his mouth.

Following after him with her sword now in her hand, Commander Lucy jumped and was about to drag Krain's leg to throw him back to the ground but using his wings, Krain had flown higher and glided below her.

Watching Commander Lucy fall towards him, Krain used his tails to hold onto her. She had successfully cut off two of the tails before the other three were able to grab her.

Not showing any sign of pain after two of his tails had been cut, Krain raised Commander Lucy higher into the air before throwing her to the ground as hard as he could.

Trying to brace herself for the fall that was to come, Commander Lucy put her sword beneath her and hoped that the fall wouldn't break it.

Crashing onto the ground, a huge crater was made and dust had risen into the air.

Commander Lucy could be seen inside the crater, staggering to her feet with blood in her mouth and at the back of her head. Spitting the blood out of her mouth, Commander Lucy picked up her sword from the ground and straightened her back, groaning in pain.

'It's a good thing my super strength was able to protect me from most of the impact of the fall.' Commander Lucy thought. 'I knew the sword could break my fall. It's a peak ranked sword after all.'

"You don't know when to quit, do you?" Krain asked, standing at the top of the crater.

"I don't." Commander Lucy replied, jumping to the top of the crater, now facing Krain.

"Just die already." Krain said, flying to her and throwing his fist.

Commander Lucy dodged the punch and hit Krain with the butt of her sword before using it to cut him across his stomach.

Krain had used his remaining three tails to grab Commander Lucy by the neck and had moved back, creating space between him and her.

With a few swings of her sword, Commander Lucy had cut off the remaining three tails of Krain and without hesitating, charged forward again.

When Commander Lucy got to him, Krain used his claws to attack her and began recklessly attacking her while shouting.

"Ahhhhh!!!!" Krain shouted while repeatedly attacking Commander Lucy with his claws. He was getting a few hits in but Commander Lucy was doing well to block most of the strikes.

With cuts now all over her body but none of them serious enough to be critical, Commander Lucy was still blocking the attacks.

Allowing Krain to hit her with both of his hands, Commander Lucy was able to make a bigger cut from the one she had made earlier across his stomach.

Krain had already lost a lot of blood and was still losing more, a lot faster than before.

Commander Lucy now had two large claw marks on her chest and on her hand but she ignored them. Krain had fallen to the ground and was unable to move. His body was close to having no blood.

Walking to Krain, Commander Lucy kicked his body into the crater her fall had created and jumped in.

Krain rolled to the bottom of the crater and was stopped by Commander Lucy's leg.

Lifting her sword above her head, Commander Lucy swung the sword as hard as she could and brought it down on Krain's neck, separating his head from his body with black blood spilling everywhere.
