A Shocking Truth

When Anna and Sky had gotten to the skyscraper which the person was on, they went to the lift which was attached to the building.

The lift was a sort of platform which had railings around it and was powered by ethanium. Ethanium was more powerful than nuclear energy and was safer so after it's discovery on Veda, it became the major source of power for almost everything.

Getting on the lift, Anna and Sky went to the top of the skyscraper where they saw the person wearing an overall which had a hood that covered his face.

"I knew I've met you before." Anna said when she saw the hood covering the person's face, the overall, and the small part of his hair her and Sky could see.

"We meet again." Veer said as he turned to face Anna and Sky fully. "It seems our paths are intertwined."

"How do you know this guy?" Sky asked, surprised that Anna knew the person that had apparently been following him for who knows how long.

"He's attacked Jake and I before." Anna answered. "He said he either leaves with Jake or he kills Jake and I."

"And I was unsuccessful the last time." Veer added to Anna's explanation.

"What makes you think you'll be successful this time?" Anna scoffed and a smirk appeared on her face.

"You humans are always so arrogant." Veer said, pointing at Anna, his face still partially hidden by the hood. Turning his finger to Sky, he said "But you Xendors are the worst. You all think you have some kind of entitlement and can do anything you please."

"Who the hell is a Xendor?" Anna asked.

"How am I supposed to know? I've literally never seen this guy before." Sky said, looking at Veer with skepticism. He was trying to somehow gauge Veer's strength but he couldn't. Although from the confidence the person obviously had, he had to be pretty strong.

"He was here for Jake before." Anna said, trying to put things together. "And now he's here for you. Why is someone after you and Jake?"

"I'm starting to feel like you're intentionally asking me questions I don't have the answer to." Sky said, his arms folded across his chest as he made sure to keep his eye on the person in front of him.

"Allow me to introduce myself, out of courtesy." Veer said and took of his hood. "Your lady friend may already know my name. I am Veer..."

"Of the Aramante clan." Anna completed. "I remember."

Veer's eyes were pure white which was from the white energy that filled them up and the bits of energy from his hair dissipated into the atmosphere as a gentle breeze blew, his overall billowing slightly.

His hands had been balled up in fists since Anna and Sky saw him, almost like he was not willing to let guard down one bit.

"Why have you been following me?" Sky asked.

"That is beside the point. Completely irrelevant to you. For now." Veer said. "There are more important questions you could ask. For example: who killed your mother?"

That statement made by Veer struck a nerve in Sky and his head tilted to the side a bit. His heart rate increased immediately and his right eye twitched a little.

"What do you mean by that?" Sky asked. "How would you know who killed my mother?"

"Did you never find it the least bit odd that your civil forces, the clinsers if I'm not mistaken, were never able to find anything about the death of your mother? Or the death of Jake's own mother?"

Veer had a slight smile on his face now, clearly enjoying every second of this moment. Sky's expression, the horror, his realization, everything.

"What kind of sick bastard kills the mother of two kids and brags about it?" Anna asked. She felt an instant hatred towards Veer and also a high amount of disgust at the person he obviously was.

"Your father," Veer said to Sky, "Andrea Xendor, killed my wife. She was the only good thing I had in this unfortunate world, the only thing that kept me going, that gave me the will to live. And your father took her away from me, like she was nothing."

"We were both guards who worked in the castle of the Master. And then one day, your father starts attacking everyone in the castle. Attacked the Master, his own brother, and all the guards who came into the room where the meeting was held."

"We were barely strong enough to push back against the red energy he uses since he already unlocked the third gear. With how strong he was, it didn't take much for him to hurl a spear at my wife and for it to go through her."

"And you think that makes it okay to kill the mothers of two children? What kind of animal are you?" Anna asked, the loathing she felt towards Veer increasing.

Sky had heard everything Veer said but he barely grasped any of the words properly. His mind had subconsciously brought up the perfect image of his mom he remembered.

Hair so blonde it practically had a gold colour, tiny bits of freckles sprinkled on her cheeks right above her cheekbones. Unlike Sky's blue eyes, she had deep grey eyes and a slender figure.

"You killed my mother?" Sky spoke, finally saying something.

"I thought that was obvious by now." Veer replied.

Sky's head tilted again to the other side, his blonde hair falling mostly towards one side. His heart raced as more blood was pumped through his body and his veins actively transported it evenly throughout his body.

The image of his mom's corpse in the coffin now in his head. Veer standing over the open coffin with his white eyes revealing his satisfaction.

Sky's arms dropped from his chest to his sides, blood rushing to his head and his eyes especially, then his eyes suddenly having the appearance of a dead person.

"I think I've had enough of you. You're not getting away this time. Believe that." Anna said and stepped forward but was stopped.

Sky had just put his hand in front of Anna, stopping her from moving forward. "He's mine." he said and looked at her. His eyes were glowing, just like Veer's. Except they were glowing with purple energy.
