I walked over to the back door of the room where I had my Klitron knowing that I was no longer a member of the low-ranking crafter caste; I was about to start my new life as a citizen of the much-respected healer caste.
The hallway was entirely colored white. The only thing that was not white was the blue plants that were placed every twenty feet or so.
In the hallway that I entered, I was greeted by a set of warriors who were standing alongside the walls. They saluted me and stood at attention as I started to walk down the hallway.
"Your new life awaits you. You are now thrust in as a full citizen of The Terran Collective. Bring honor to your house while serving the Chancellor. By his actions and words, we all live in unison." The soldiers all said in unison as I approached the end of the hallway.
Then the next thing that I saw was that there were rooms along this wall that had the symbol of the different castes above them made out of a dark stone. I walked down the pathway to the right and I did not see the healer symbol above any of the doors. Since I knew that I was meant to go to the other side I went down the left side until I saw the symbol of the healer caste on the final door.
As I approached the door an active scanner activated scanning my body with a blue light.
"Active talent scan is now complete. You possess a healing talent. Welcome as a new member of the healer caste." a female AI voice said after the scan was complete.
Then a set of clothes that matched the robes of the healers was released from an opening that slid itself open from the left side of the door briefly after the ai stopped speaking.
I put the new clothes on and as I put them on the clothes made me feel like a different person them before. Was this pride or was it fear that I was feeling? Only time would be able to tell me the truth about what it is that I am feeling.
After I put on the new white and blue robes, I saw that a medium metal thrash bin that had wheels appeared in front of the door.
"Please dispose of your former clothing in my burner. You do not need anything from your previous life. Your new life awaits you." The trash can's deep AI voice said to me.
I placed my former clothes and utility belts that had many different crafting items in the back section of the trash can which was an active burner. Then after that, the trash bin rolled away from me taking all that represented my old life with it.
As the trash bin rolled away from me the door in front of me opened up. I just knew that whoever was waiting for me on the other side of the door was going to impact my life in one way or another.
When I walked into the room, I was thrust into a room that was full of life and energy. I saw that each of the people that were in the room was wearing the healer's robes. The room contained two males and two females except me. I also saw that one of the males with red hair was leaning against the rear wall away from everyone as if he did not have the time or energy to deal with anyone else.
The other people that I saw in the room were a tall and skinny female that had silver hair. She was harassed by a tall and muscular black male. The final female in the room was a short woman who was slightly overweight, and she had long black hair.
I knew that I would need to make a very good first impression on the people that I was going to most likely be starting the next phase of my life.
"Hello everyone my name is Danny. I was a former member of the crafter caste." I thought that they would pay attention to me but they all just ignored me.
Everyone in the room seemed to be doing their own thing except for the black man in the room. I saw that he was staring at the female with silver hair.
"Come on baby I know that you want some of me. You cannot deny my muscles would look great with you by my side."
After the black man spoke to the female, I saw that she started to run at me. Since I did not want her to get hurt, I chose to brace myself for the likelihood of her running into me.
"No get away you pervert. I do not want to be touched by someone like you". The silver-haired female said as she was blindly running towards me.
I was not able to prepare myself fast enough because she knocked me over onto my back as she rushed towards me in an attempt to get away from him. When she landed on me, I accidentally grabbed her butt with my right hand. I noticed that she did not react to what I had done because I could still see the fear and worry that she was feeling about the black male in the room.
As soon as I was able to stop myself from grabbing her but I lifted her up as I rose to my feet and set her down on her feet, I saw that the black man was staring at me angrily. While he stared at me, I was somehow overflowed with joy and arrogance at the thought that I had taken something that he wanted.
"Well, shit!! It seems that you have won the first battle for her heart, but do not expect me to surrender to you. I will have her soon enough." The black male said to me as I saw him turn his back to me.
"Really what did you think was going to happen Donivon?" the other female asked him. "You have to understand that the females of our race are not all for breaking the rules of our people. You know about the rules that were added to help with population control."
"I know about those stupid rules that we all follow, but that does not that a young man would not be able to dream.". Donavon said as I saw him look at the other female in the room that was not by me.
"Well since everyone has finally relaxed; we each introduce each other. I am assuming that we will be spending the next few months together since people who have healing talents are very rare." I said to everyone in the room after I saw that everyone had finally calmed down.
"Well as this loudmouth has explained I am Donivon, and I am formerly of the warrior caste". The black male said as he walked up to me with his chest puffed out at me as if he had something to prove.
Then the short female waved her right hand at me. "Hi everyone my name is Maranda. I am a former member of the government caste."
"Call me Fredrick. As you most likely can tell by my lack of words I was a former personnel of the scientist caste". He said to me as I noticed that he looked up at me with a glare that read that he would much rather be alone than with all of us right now.
"I guess that it is my turn. I am called Nora. The caste that I come from is the chief caste." the girl beside me said as she played with her long hair by twisting it in her fingers.
"Can I tell you that the thought of you cooking for me is hot Nova". Donovan said.
"Not a single one of us cares what twisted thoughts are racing through your perverted mind Donivon". Maranda said in a frustrated tone.
"My name is Danny, and I am a former crafter," I said to them as soon as I noticed that they had calmed down.
After I told everyone my original caste Donivon started to laugh very loudly.
"I do not see what is so funny Donivon about what I just said," I said as I walked up to him because I was getting angry about him not taking me seriously.
"Come on I can not be the only one who finds it funny that a member of the lowest caste thinks that he will be able to make it as a highly valued healer". He said to everyone as he was continuously laughing.
Not a single was laughing at what he had just stated.
"Are all of you seriously going to not notice how much lower ranked he is than the rest of us?"
As soon as Donivon stopped speaking, I saw that Fredrick started to walk towards him. "I know that I have not said much since I have come into this room, but I need to tell you something."
"Oh yeah really; what wise thing could ever come out of the mouth of anyone who was a former researcher?" Donovan asked Fredrick as he was being approached by him.
"You need to understand that after someone finishes The Klitron it does not matter where they came from, but what kind of life they choose to live with their new talent at their disposal.
It is because of this that we do not laugh along with you. I hope that I was able to explain it well enough for you to understand what I meant; you jarhead"
I could feel that Donivon was about to pop Fredrick like a berry at what he had just called Donivon. The next thing that I saw was that Donivon then dashed over to Fredrick and knocked him on his back with a swift right hook.
After Fredrick was hit by the right hook, he was launched into a wall but it did not shatter because of a thin white barrier that absorbed the impact and scattered it to where there was no damage to the building wall.
"You should know the members of the warrior caste hate being called jarheads," Donovan said to Fredrick before he spit in his face.
"Way to prove his point about him calling you a jarhead," I said to Donivon as I made my way to where Fredrick was lying against the wall.
I noticed that Fredrick had a fist-shaped mark that was a massively swollen indent on his face where he had been punched. I decided that I should heal him even if that would reveal my talent to everyone in the room.
"By the grace of Caldian the god of my people I offer this prayer in exchange for this man's healing. Please entirely heal this man's injuries".
After I spoke those words all of his wounds disappeared and his flesh returned to its normal color. I was suddenly feeling waves of anger as well as fear as soon as I finished healing him. These emotions were not coming from me, but I think that they came from Fredrick. Had I received waves of his emotions after I healed him of his injury?
That would explain what it was that I had felt after I healed that man during my Klitron.
I also did not collapse on the floor like last time which told me that the amount of stamina that I will lose after healing someone is based entirely on the depth and intensity of their wound.
"That is a much better type of healing than what I ended up with," Fredrick said as he rose to his feet.
"Yes, it might be better in utility but there is usually a cost to this level of power". I said to him as I offered him my right hand to help him get back onto his feet.
"Well, it seems that all of the people who have come to this building to take their Klitron are done" an elderly female that I had never heard before.
I had the feeling that the elderly female was going to be taking me to the location where my journey with these people was going to truly begin. My life as a healer for The Terran Collective had just begun.
