The Book of Wisdom

Desolate Ruins,

Tyson ventured into the ruins which looked more like a creepy forest in which one could easily feel the

the silence of darkness which is ready to haunt the people who dare to step into the desolate ruins.

The forest was dark and silent with howls of wolves in the background, their howls echoed from the foot of

the hill that stood at some distance. Tyson sped past the debris of houses scattered beside the narrow path. It looked like people in this

world once used to inhabit this place but due to some reasons, abandoned the place and went

somewhere else. Tyson tried to imagine about this place once being a lively place as he walked deeper

into the forest.

Suddenly, He heard the howls of the wolves again but, this time the distance was much

lesser than before. Instinctively, Tyson unsheathed his blade from the scabbard that hung tightly at his

back. The Sword was corroded and blunt which forced Tyson to develop a sense of fear as he saw a pack

of wolves nearing upon. They were five in number and their fur was thick and snow-white in color.

They had long and sharp fangs which were silver in color. Their whole body was surrounded in

the red aura which looked terrifying. The thing that astonished Tyson the most was that the wolves stood

on two legs instead of four. The two front limbs were now their forearms.

"What are they?" cried Tyson as the wolves glared at him angrily. Their eyes glinted and it had killing

the intent in them which freaked out Tyson more and more when he tried to meet their glares directly.

"I think they are some kind of monsters, maybe a species of Canidae?" thought Tyson as he tightened his

the grip on the blunt sword.

"The stats are quite frightening, How am I going to battle them?" thought Tyson as a drop of sweat

trickled down his face.

His stats were too low to battle five Lycans together at once. He observed his surroundings and

saw a narrow bridge made by tying the ropes together with wooden planks below.

Immediately, an idea struck his mind. He opened the Menu and went through the skill interface where

he saw only two skills. One was [Slant Crush] and other was a life-saving skill called, [Dash]. A sign

of hope and happiness struck at Tyson's face and he forced a smile after he read through the

description. He started running towards the bridge and the pack of Lycans dash behind him. When Tyson

was just a few inches away of a lycan, he simply activated the skill [Dash] and he immediately dashed

forward till he reached the other end of the wooden bridge. He then hacked at the ropes of the bridge

which were tied tightly around the bridge. The pack of Lycans was just a few inches away when the

ropes were cut and the whole bridge collapsed beneath into the abyss. With the collapsing bridge, all

the Lycans except one fell into the abyss. One Lycan which jumped on the moment reached the other

side of the bridge. He stood up and started glaring at Tyson as he slowly moved forward towards him.

Tyson saw that the lycan was walking with a slight limp and found out that a nail was stuck into his left

leg. The lycan growled in pain more than anger as he dashed towards Tyson. Just as once of the deadly

fangs of the Lycan were about to pierce his chest, Tyson dodged and with a backslash of his sword. He

stabbed the Lycan's neck and the Lycan growled in pain. Tyson then took out the bloodied blade and

pierced the Lycan's back. As the corroded blade went deeper inside the back and finally came out of the

another side, The Lycan already took his last breath and pass out.

Tyson knelt and took one of the Lycan's forearms and cut one of his fangs which were the smallest one.

He then stored it in the pouch that hung at his left torso. Tyson again started walking deeper inside the

forest. This time he was careful not to attract any monster as it could cost him his life. He soon reached

near a lake which glowed like crystal. The scene was so breathtakingly beautiful that he couldn't able

to control his emotions and yelled in excitement. Suddenly, a squealing sound rushed into his ears and

Tyson looked above him. He saw a bird twice as big as an eagle. Its eyes gleamed and were gazing at

Tyson continuously. He immediately regrets the idea of yelling in this creepy yet dangerous place.

The bird suddenly dash towards Tyson and its body started to look like a fiery ball of fire which would

consume Tyson fully into it, not even leaving his bones. Tyson was saved by his instincts as he moved

out of the area of effect of the skill.

"Those stats are more frightening than that of those Lycans, I would surely become its food today,"

thought Tyson with a frightful expression.

"How would I even battle him? He keeps flying high and only comes at me to attack with his skills."

"Wait! I know just what I could do to get out of this situation," exclaimed Tyson as he stared at the

shrike which circled around him continuously while squealing loudly at times.

Tyson activated his life-saving skill [Dash] and dashed towards a huge tree which was a few yards away.

The tree was huge with many branches which entangled at some point. The trunk of the tree looked

quite strong which could easily take a few of the attacks from the shrike.

Tyson reached below the tree and without wasting much time, he started climbing towards the top. The

the blade was sheathed at his back while Tyson grabbed a thick rope-like thing and climbed at the top of the

tree. Now, He and Shrikes, both were at the same height as well as distance. Tyson unsheathed his blade

from the scabbard and much to his surprise, the blade seemed like less corroded and blunt than

before. The Shrike saw Tyson on the top of the tree and he again dashed towards Tyson but diverted

its movement just in time and his long twisted beak started glowing and the shrike hit the trunk of

the tree trying to cut it.

But, its attempt became useless when Tyson jumped off the top of the tree and

landed on the back of the shrike. He simply swung his sword twice before stabbing the blade inside the

body of the shrike. Shrike, in turn, became mad and attempted to get off Tyson from his back but he

maintained his grip of hands and stayed on the back. The shrike started to fall down as much of the

blood spurted out of his back, making it drenched in blood. The Shrike fell on the ground with a thud as

its body started shivering in pain. It squealed in pain as the blade was still stuck into his back.

Meanwhile, Tyson came down from the tree. He got hold of a thick rope when the shrike was falling

rapidly. He simply walked towards the shrike and took out his sword and sheathed it back.

He started walking deeper into the forest. The only thing that was in the mind of Tyson was to find the

'Book of Wisdom' and return it to the giant as quickly as possible. Soon, He reached a place which looked

like the end of the ruins. A stone cave blocked by a big boulder came into view as Tyson moved forward.

From the cracks of the boulder, a stream flowed out of the cave and then the stream met with the lake.

"So, this is the source of water for the lake I just saw in my way," Tyson muttered as he slowly

walked towards the boulder.

Suddenly, The whole Desolate Ruins shrugged as a Roar filled the area. The Roar was coming from

behind the boulder and anyone who would hear that roar must have had goosebumps. Soon, the

boulder started to crack with a thrashing sound and then immediately the boulder burst into small

rocks and a shadow emerged from the mouth of the cave. It was 7 feet tall and the creature had

horns on his head which matched from that of a bull's. He had a head of a bull with a muscular frame.

He had hairs all over his body and his toes matched from the bull's toes which contained only two

fingers.

"It seems like he is the leader of the monsters who inhabit this forest," thought Tyson as he once again

unsheathed his blade.

"You want a fight? Then------" Tyson froze mid-sentence as his gaze fell upon a shining object which gave

a heavenly feeling. It was a thick book which hung at the right torso of the Minotaur. It was what

Tyson was looking for... Kratos' lost thing, 'Book of Wisdom'
