Is The “One” Here? Part 1

Miles away, across the Ocean Sea, in the middle of the Otherworld, stood Light Beam Island, an island made by the four wizards over a hundred years ago.

The elders of the Paladins say that the wizards made the island a place for representing the peace of the new world. Then, just as they had begun to make the New Republic, they disappeared. From their notes and the words they had spoken to the seven chosen chancellors, one from each of the seven clans, took their place in what they called The High Council and created the rules and laws that are now followed by the Paladins across the Otherworld.

On this island, a dock was placed on the south, north, east and west coast for ships from each of the four other pieces of land.

At this very moment, on the west coast dock, a ship came into port carrying a file from the Chief of the Stonewalker Clan.

A man in a blue cloak stood on the dock. He watched as the ship pulled in, closer and closer toward where he stood.

The ship docked into the port, one of the sailors throwing the anchor off into the sea, stopping the ship alongside the dock.

The man approached, just as one of the sailors on board lowered the gangplank down. The man walked on board the wooden ship, eyeing the sails, the deck and then the captain. He walked toward where the captain stood on the helm, going closer and closer until he stood in front of him and raised his hand expectantly.

"The Chief says this is important. It is to be reviewed by the Chancellors when they are in session," the captain told the man in the blue cloak, "today."

The man in blue remained silent. He raised his hand higher, gesturing for the captain to give him the file that was in the captain's hand.

The captain let out a loud sigh before he handed the file to the cloaked stranger on his boat, watching him open it, check how many papers were inside, nodded and walked off the boat.

"Captain, are you just going to let him leave? He didn't tell you if he would bring the file to them right this moment while they are in session, or if he would wait until Friday's meeting to give it to them," one of the sailors on board the ship questioned the captain.

The captain turned his head to look at the sailor, a glare in his eyes. "Forget about it," he ordered the young man. He then turned his eyes forward, placing his hands on the wheel, "Now raise the sails. We have families to return home to." The boat sailed from the dock, going into the distance of the horizon.

Meanwhile, the man in the blue cloak walked up the stone stairs on the side of the cliff, leaving the beach and onto the dirt-covered ground above. The cloaked stranger walked through a field until he had reached the only building on the island. It was called the Roost. The building was made of sandstone, had no glass in the windows, was long, and only one story but stretched all around the island.

The cloaked stranger entered the Roost's main doors and headed straight for the council's meeting room door. He knocked on the door twice, then waited. The door was opened no longer than two minutes later by one of the chancellors. Keeping quiet, he handed the file to the chancellor, bowed his head then walked away from the meeting room.

"Who was it, Paul?" Chancellor Melissa of the Clan Mistwater questioned from the circular table.

"It was Zachery," Chancellor Paul of the Clan Hallowhammer replied, closing the door of the meeting room. He walked toward the circular table, opening the file as he walked, "it is from Chief Darren Stonewalker," he says, taking his seat.

Chancellor Leon of the Clan of Stonewalker sat up, his eyes on the file in Paul's hands, "What does it say, Paul?" he asked.

Chancellor Paul Adams held the papers in his hands, reading each one until he came across the final page and stopped.

"What does it say, Paul?" Chancellor Firdous of the Clan Ragewater asked, her eyes glaring as she waited for him to speak.

"He says that he believes he has found the prodigal one," he whispers, and looks up at the others, his eyes wide.

The entire council was in disbelief, staring at Chancellor Paul with eyes wide and full of questions.

"What do you mean he has found the prodigal one?" Chancellors Firdous and Leon questioned simultaneously.

They directed their stares from Paul to each other, glares in their eyes.

"I mean that the Chief says he may have found the prodigal one. Four young teens appeared in their woods while being chased by a werewolf," Chancellor Paul says, reading the report to the other Chancellors, "The day after they found them a cyclops appeared. It left suddenly then a boulder came toward one of the teens, a boy named Cameron Clarkson. But the boulder stopped mid-air for two and a half minutes then fell to the ground, leaving the boy unharmed. He believes this boy is the prodigal one."

Chancellor Firdous let out a laugh, "there is no way the prodigal one would just appear in the forest like some animal. That isn't how the wizards predicted their arrival!" She reminded everyone.

"But they also said she would appear on the island of the elves. Stonewalker is on the elves island," Chancellor Leon reminded Chancellor Firdous.

Firdous and Leon glared into each other's eyes before they stopped at the clearing of someone's throat.

Everyone in the room turned their attention to Chancellor Markus Sanchez, the only remaining original member of the High Council.

"Leon, Firdous. Am I wrong that three challenges could prove if this boy is the prodigal one?" he questioned the woman and man who were watching him with looks of caution.

"Yes, Sir," they both replied.

"Excellent. Then I would like you both to travel to Stonewalker and have the boy face these challenges. If he passes, then the time has come," Markus says.

And with that the bells toll from the seven tours around the island, ending the meeting.
