Recruiting An Accomplice

As she awoke the next morning Maelyn groaned as she slowly rolled out of bed and stood up. Stretching her arms out to each side she asked Queen Lani, 'Does doing magic ALWAYS leave you sore like this?! I feel like I was pulling each one of those layers of rock up by hand and carrying it over to that pile with my hands instead of with magic!'

 'That isn't something that will happen EVERY time.' Lani informed her, 'You are feeling sore because your mind is basically telling your body that you overexerted a new muscle last night and so it is making you feel sore. Today will be the only time you feel sore in your arms like that unless you use even more magic to lift something bigger in the future. But you should be prepared to feel the same soreness in your legs the next time you use magic to do something your body would think you were using your feet for.'
