You are a Qi user

"I am going to explain to you the reason why you are the way you are."

The being began to explain that in this world, not only magic exists, but there is also another power called Qi.

"Being a Qi user is much more complex than you think. Your whole body is structured differently, and you are the only human who didn't die because of it," Amon had a puzzled look on his face and asked, "The only one who didn't die because of it?"

The creature waited a few seconds and replied, "Every miscarriage is a child that had Qi, and when it was born, it died shortly after. You are the first to survive." The creature continued with a dark expression, "The only beings that know the reason for it are the three strongest gods that use Qi and the god of life. And they are not willing to share this information even among us gods."

The creature suddenly opened its eyes as if it remembered that it forgot to say something very important.

"Oh, right. I didn't introduce myself properly. My name is Thalos. My title is not important, but for you, I'm the god of the beginning and a god that is also able to use Qi." Thalos had a small smile on his face while saying that.

"Wait, why the god of the beginning, and why only for me?" Thalos dryly answered, "Well, because your story begins with me, and for the second part, that is something you have to find out by yourself." Thalos switched to a serious expression and continued.

"Instead of a mana core and a mana lake, you have so-called Qi points that are spread all over your body and are connected with each other." Amon spoke angrily, "Do you want to fool me? If this mysterious power truly exists, why am I not able to use it? And that every miscarriage is a Qi user? That's bullshit! Why did that power never help me during my whole life?"

A surprised look appeared on Thalos' face after hearing this. "I'm surprised that you are still able to feel emotions. I used my skill on you, after all." He raised his finger, and suddenly all of Amon's anger disappeared.

"This should work." After finishing what he did, Thalos casually answered, "But you are using it already, and you used it quite often during your life. Otherwise, why do you think you are still alive? After all, you had several severe injuries, and if it wasn't for Qi, you would have died long ago from your injuries." Thalos tilted his face slightly to the right as if taking a closer look.

"Or better said, Qi is helping you." Amon replied again with, "What do you mean by that?" Amon wasn't sure how often he had said that already during this conversation, but he had to say it because he had no idea what that guy was talking about.

Seeing the puzzled look on Amon's face, Thalos replied, "In short, Qi doesn't work the same way as Mana. While Mana is like an obedient servant that loves serving its master, Qi is like a group of people who only help you if they are interested in you in any kind of way."

"Well, it looks like I should thank this Qi after all. I would have died a long time ago without it." For the first time in his life, Amon thought that he should be thankful for something he had.

Seeing Amon's face, Thalos thought it was weird that this man could have such a smile on his face. After all, Thalos had strengthened the skill he was using several times during this conversation, and this man was still able to feel emotions. Just how strong were the feelings this person was experiencing right now?

"I have to take away your illusion. The Qi isn't helping you because they think highly of you; they are helping you because they see you as a beggar."

Thalos wanted to bring him back to reality and continued, "It is just like throwing a coin into the hat of a beggar out of pity."

"Well, I've never received something like pity in my entire life, so it's fine." Amon grew a small smile while saying that. He wasn't upset about the fact that he owed his life just to pity. No, he was honestly just grateful for receiving it.

Thalos suddenly shook his head from left to right when he realized that the conversation wasn't going the way he had originally intended.

He sighed, annoyed, and continued explaining.

"First, I'm going to explain to you what you are supposed to do with that knowledge."

Amon sighed, realizing that they had been talking about useless things all this time. He wanted to know what was going to happen now and, more importantly, what was going to happen to him.

"In short, I'm going to teach you how to use Qi. When I have taught you everything you need to know, I'll be gone."
