The Only Leveling System

Nobody on Earth expected monsters to suddenly rush out from portals that appeared out of thin air. What happened was what would only appear in novels, mangas, or animes. Everything seems surreal. Unfortunately, for those who are in denial, none of this is a dream. This is REALITY. Rem’s "peaceful" life was shattered on that day. Many years had passed since then. Rem somehow ended up being the last human alive on Earth. She succeeded in defeating the Demon King. Despite all the rewards she received, Rem didn’t have the will to live anymore. Suddenly, a man in a white robe appeared before Rem. "I'm Alchit, the God of Light. Congratulations on your victory." 'What is there to celebrate? My family, friends, comrades... Everyone but me is all dead!' "What kind of god are you??! Alicht, the God of Light? More like A SH*T, the God of all sh*ts!!!" "HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! This is the first time anyone has insulted me like that. For that, I'll tell you a little something...!" Alchit leaned over to Rem's right ear and whispered: "This happened because I find things like this entertaining. You're simply a CHARACTER I took interest in. That's how you survived for so long." Before Rem could process what she just heard, Alchit ended her life ruthlessly with his blade. Was Rem going to die just like that? Yes! Of course, she is. Not even plot armor can protect her from this. How can a mere human survive any sword that pierced one's heart without dying? At least her death was quick and probably painless, right...? After dying, Rem got reincarnated into another world. The only problem was, she was reincarnated as a MONSTER. A monster that's the size of a CAT. Actually... Make that two problems. Rem can’t remember anything in her past life except for her first name, the day the portals appeared, some knowledge about the monsters she met before, being brutally murdered by Ash*t, and her immeasurable hatred for Gods. Having an annoying yet somewhat helpful system barely helps in the situation Rem’s in. "Why am I here, just to suffer?” Let's look at the bright side. Rem has another chance. A chance to get revenge in this new life of hers. Nonetheless, her priority right now is to survive. How will Rem survive in the current cat-sized monster body she's in? Will she ever succeed in getting her revenge? Can she get her memories back and uncover the truth? Join Rem on her journey and see for yourself! ——————————————————————— Tags: Adventure, Fantasy, FemaleMC, FemaleProtagonist, GameElements, Magic, MedievalWorld, ModernWorld, Monster, Monsters, Nonhuman, Overpowered, Portals, PowerfulMC, Rebirth, Reborn, Reincarnation, Revenge, System, Transmigration ——————————————————————— TOLS = The Only Leveling System ——————————————————————— ^Please note that everything in this novel is made up and isn't real. What A Hideous Place

'This should be the right place.'

Rem stopped in front of a white, Greek-like-looking architecture building.

「Master, I don't like this place one bit... It makes me feel uneasy for some reason.」

'We have to go in so we can get some information.'

「I understand. Please don't let my uneasiness bother you, Master.」

'It's fine. We all feel uneasy sometimes in our lives... I'm not even sure whether or not the same God I saw in my past life is in this world. Hopefully, he's not dead...!'

Rem stared at the large, white, ancient-looking building.

'I never believed in Gods, but after what happened before, I'm not too sure anymore. You see, I was never a religious person.'

{Nobody cares. Now you better not get caught entering here because this place is a temple where only the elven people are allowed inside. If you disguise yourself as an elf, you'll still need to send a letter to the temple for them to set a time for you to come to the temple. That's how things work here.}

'It's fine as long as I don't get caught.' Rem reassured, activating her Stealth skill.

She entered the temple from the side, making sure nobody noticed her. There were many guards guarding the temple outside, but it wasn't a feat for Rem to sneak inside. The moment Rem entered the temple, a huge, bright light shone on her.

'Why is it so bright in here???'

Rem stopped in her tracks as she began to adjust to the light. She walked further inside the temple without making any noises.

'This temple is quite huge. From the outside, it didn't look this large. I can definitely feel some kind of magic in here.' Rem noticed as she kept on walking.

「I don't like this place.」

'We'll get out of here as soon as I finish exploring this temple, alright?'

「Sorry, Master... I apologize for being impudent.」

'You're not a bit close to being rude. Don't apologize for stuff like these. I mean, there must be a reason for you to be uncomfortable here. I feel like I hate this place because of all the brightness, reminding me of an event in the past. Maybe you're in a similar situation, except you don't remember it.'

「I can't remember anything. Not even my name...」

'You might get your memories back when something makes you remember. It might be pieces of memories.'

{That can happen. Usually, it's either the being themselves or someone else who made that soul there get trapped in that blade. Transferring the soul to another body, especially a non-living one, can cause major side effects such as amnesia, for example. There's already a huge percentage that the soul that's being transferred to another body or thing will not succeed. It's a miracle how that soul hasn't shattered into pieces yet.}

'You sure know a lot.'

{Of course, I'm the best.}

Rem rolled her eyes, stopping in front of a large sculpture. Her eyes widened to see a familiar figure on the statue.

'The same white robe, mask, and body structure. Seeing this statue wants to make me destroy it...'

Rem clenched her fists, staring at the sculpture with hatred. She released her murderous aura without knowing.

{You're releasing your killing intent. Keep calm if you don't want to get busted.}

'Fine...'

Rem took a deep breath in, then looked around her surroundings.

'There are magic lamps, all kinds of food, and valuables in front of the statue. Flowers and surrounding the statue. There aren't any windows, but there are many pillars from the outside and inside.'

Rem looked around, not seeing anything unusual.

'There must be something in this temple. There has to be.'

「Master! There's a wall that can be opened behind the statue. I'm sure Master can get rid of the magic circle on the wall with ease. 」

Rem walked behind the statue.

'Oh, you're right.'

Rem spotted a wall with a sign on it.

'I must have not noticed it because everywhere inside here, there's magic.'

Rem touched the wall, breaking the magic circle that was on it. When the wall opened, Rem could see a dark hallway. Right before she entered the dark hallway, Rem felt someone or something staring at her. She didn't know who or what it was. She looked back at the statue with suspicion in her eyes. All she saw was the back of the statue.

'Hm...'

Rem shrugged it off, staying on high alert.

...

"Someone has broke in... Nobody, but the five heroes I assigned are supposed to enter there. I don't know how that person broke the magic circle that I personally made, but no matter what, make sure to get rid of that certain someone. Understood?"

A man wearing a white robe and mask is sitting on a throne. There were many clouds all over the place.

"We'll do whatever you order us to do."

Others that were wearing the same white robe and mask bowed down to the man respectfully.

The man sitting on the throne made a shooing gesture. The others that were still bowing teleported away.

"Would you like me to take care of this?" A voice asked, not showing itself.

"You would? I don't want to trouble you. Just in case the ones I ordered fails, you may go in my stead. Although, I doubt they would lose to anyone in that world." The man claimed, staring at the sky that was above him with boredom.

"Alright. Call my name whenever you need me, yeah? I'll gladly take the job."

The man said nothing as the presence of the voice disappeared.

"Everything is too boring... When can I get out of this place?" The man muttered as he sighed.

As you all can probably tell, I've been enjoying this Summer! :D
